Greg Vinall, Doc Lures did a podcast a few years ago on this. Basically oil & water don't mix, must be water soluble oils. You will notice it with " Tuna oil " & it mostly just creates a slick on the surface.

Gulp definitely develop on a water based principle I don’t know exactly why it works so good on many different species from Barramundi to Bass Bream Jewfish flathead and everything else but I love it 😂😂👊👊

The gulp prawns are really good, also those little 2 inch pumpkinseed curl tails jeez I've caught some bream on those, keep up the good work Dave 👍

I cant say scent makes a difference with using plastics or not. I have used both and caught fish i also fish solo.

The scent covers up the smell of the angler I believe, the fish aren’t jumping at the extra smelly crab scent, it’s what they can’t smell because of the scent that makes it valuable during a hard bite
