Those are hidden flashbacks, the buttons don´t appear in the screen, but you have to keep pressing X or O until the cutscene ends. When that part starts(Raiden preventing snake from being crushed), raiden says rose or something like that, from there to the finish of the cutscene you just keeping tapping X and O at the same time, you will see a total of 8 flashbacks in that part. there is not a specific number to the amount of flashbacks you need. The number you get is the amount of times you see an image in a flashback. The average X flashback has 4 images with it, so you can press X 4 times and have 4 in total, or you can mash X and see the same image repeated 20 times, and your total will be 20. The number of flashbacks seen at the end of a chapter results screen will not tell you if you've missed any or not, since it depends on how many times you pressed X.
MGS4 played to get the Big Boss emblem (without solar gun) was harder than getting the platinum in MGSV. I still miss a couple of trophies in MGS4, anyway, I think I'm going to platin it soon. MGS4 was the best MGS game of the saga to me.
John Bosetski well, you have to complete the game in less than 5 hours, without killing anybody (not even bosses), without being spotted and letting the enemy go into alert mode (you can let them be in caution mode, but not alert). When I tried it, I did it in the hardest way possible (because I was stupid and I didn't know that was possible to take the solar gun by completing the game on hard mode). Of course, you can't use special items like bandana or stealth camo (if you have them). When you'll take it, you'll have a lot of special items in reward, plus you'll recieve also the patriot gun :)
John Bosetski oh yes, this is absolutely the only thing to do. Reload from the last save. I was forgetting to say that if you don't want to take the bosses's dolls, you can use lethal weapons against the beasts, but to defeat the beauties, you have to use non lethal weapons. Good luck, dude!

Today is 11 April 2023, I got the trophy "Flashback mania": you don't need to get the flashback without the vibration, you'll get the trophy whether you have the vibration on or off, I had the vibration on and still got the trophy
How do you get Mantis to say "What!? No vibration?" I've tried turning off my controller in one playthrough, and then the next playthrough, I turned Virbration off on the controller settings, both still gave me the "Vibration is back!" cutscene. :/

Great guide, I was only missing the one in the Act 3 mission briefing about Europe and the test being a failure. Also I didn't do all the audio flashbacks in Act 4 but still just got the trophy.
all the flashbacks you see in the video are the ones I got, which got me the trophy at the end. Some comments have said that audio flashbacks do not count towards the trophy, but I added them aswell.

Just got the trophy, apperently for the vibrating controller part you only need one of those flashbacks not both. And you don't need that "no massages for you then" flashback either, last but not least you don't need the Liquid flashback where he says "you enjoy all the killings, thats why"
Mine was when Big Boss said that FOXDIE is eating him away and flashback shows Drebin injects Snake with new generation of nanomachines via syringe shot. I rewatched that cutscene many times, but probably for some reason i didn't notice that "X" in upper-right corner of screen.
Act:1 has 40 flashbacks Act:2 has 65 flashbacks Act:3 has 38 flashbacks Act:4 has 62 flashbacks Act:5 has 16 flashbacks in total of 221. look at your stats when your done with a chapter to double check. just remember that they carry over so you might have more in act one. it is recommended the start a new game if your going to follow what i posted. thumbs up if it helped and so others can see. :D

If I replay and I have missed some in the previous gameplay, do I have to start all again or do they save in a database, meaning I only have to get the ones I missed.
Does anyone know if the "no vibration" and "vibrations back" flashback count as two different ones, because I remember the controller looking different in each. I don't think it would because it would be a bit cruel to punish someone who doesn't own a dualshock but still.

After you defeat Beauty.but dont stop when you got that flashback because another one showing Hideo itself will appear after,in other words,dont stop pressing "X" because that hidden (hideo) the "X" mark dont show up!

Act 4 gave me goosebumps the first time I ever played mgs4 , I nearly cried with nostalgia . If their is another game with Solid Snake I think it will be the zanzibar war , with himself and frank jager and how all that happened it would be good for the story and thus how snake became a legend , i would pay good money for that.

Actually it is not once you know but of course that´s obvious.just see all cutscenes and that´s it! But there´s some hidden ones that can make this trophy really hard.the ones are when Raiden stops the ship and when he drowns he will start remember times with his gf and you just start press "X" all the way,dont stop and there you go! ~the other one is on mantis fight,turn you controler vibration "off" and after the Beauty fight,keep pressing to the end of the cutscenes,you simply can´t fail.
Im playing on the Boss Extreme for the big boss emblem, and from the second part of the bike scene to the third one(in Act 3), my health got replenished, i saw many videos where it doesn´t get replenished, and to get it replenished you need to fast foward the date from your PS3(25% by day), so why i didn´t need to do that trick, why it got replenished by itself? But then, after i fineshed the third part of the bike scene with low health it didn´t get replenished for the raging raven boss.
But i am now at my 7th playtrought(penultimate before i do the big boss emblem), because this would be the most time consuming and annoying playtrought. In this playtrought i will aim for the chicken emblem too as i have to watch all the cutscenes to help reach the 35 hours of gameplay. My question is, sould i star a new game now from main menu and get the flash back mania(this way i would not have all the things from my previously 6 playtroughts), or can i load my last save game and foloow

I can confirm that you do not need to view the vibration/no-vibration video. I've actually never ever seen the non vibration variant and my trophy just popped when snakes scouts naomi's footprints after Laughing octopus. DAMN! I remember I was too tired and I fell asleep during this vid! hahaha unlucky me.

you dont need to hear the voices flashbacks, i didnt do and got trophy. however, one other trophy requires one flashback you use the camera up and you get drebin points for it also. another thing, just to make it easy, if you got all flashbacks, there will be 10.000 or 5.000 drebin points in flashbacks , just check the results after each act.
Is that a second run through though? I think they stack, so if you started a new game but on an old save then the flashbacks from the old save carry over... If that's just a new game then I had no idea there was so many, pretty sure I had closer to 100 on my first run throughs, but I definitely missed some. Pretty sure it wasn't that many though, that's insane.

Try turning off the vibration at the beauty battle before the cutscene and you will get the alternate Psycho Mantis cutscene.

yes the flashabacks will still count, I skipped all the cutscenes when the flashbacks were done, just make sure you don't skip 1 by accident

if you lost flashback retry!!!...i have got this trophy in act 1 on second cutscene with drebin....no need all flashback just retry from first!

the flashback is when you kill 50 enemies in 1 area, however several people have commented that it is not needed for the trophy
They should have used the PlayStation audio for Shadow Moses.

I love how you find Liquid’s Hind D helicopter in the snow field at Shadow Moses it shows exactly where it crashed after you destroyed it
Omg finally got it!! I was missing the flash back when Drebin talks about being a child of war dang all the way until the 5th ACT. I can finally skip the rest on my other playthroughs.

I played through the game once and I didn't get this trophy, so I decided to play it again, and this time I decided to just repeatedly tap the X button until the cutscenes end.
yes flashbacks in mission briefings are needed

Hi, I did first run and I took all falshback in the video but I didn't know about audio, so I missed some of that.
Can I take just that in my second run or I have to take it all in one run?

not certain, but it's better to play it safe and just spam X to make sure you get them all
Actually it is not once you know but of course that´s obvious.just see all cutscenes and that´s it!
But there´s some hidden ones that can make this trophy really hard.the ones are when Raiden stops the ship and when he drowns he will start remember times with his gf and you just start press "X" all the way,dont stop and there you go!
~the other one is on mantis fight,turn you controler vibration "off" and after the Beauty fight,keep pressing to the end of the cutscenes,you simply can´t fail.
Im playing on the Boss Extreme for the big boss emblem, and from the second part of the bike scene to the third one(in Act 3), my health got replenished, i saw many videos where it doesn´t get replenished, and to get it replenished you need to fast foward the date from your PS3(25% by day), so why i didn´t need to do that trick, why it got replenished by itself? But then, after i fineshed the third part of the bike scene with low health it didn´t get replenished for the raging raven boss.
But i am now at my 7th playtrought(penultimate before i do the big boss emblem), because this would be the most time consuming and annoying playtrought. In this playtrought i will aim for the chicken emblem too as i have to watch all the cutscenes to help reach the 35 hours of gameplay. My question is, sould i star a new game now from main menu and get the flash back mania(this way i would not have all the things from my previously 6 playtroughts), or can i load my last save game and foloow
btw i dont know if i mention here but there´s another hidden flashbacks,yes its plural!
those flashbacks appear when Liquid is runnig after the REX/RAY batlle.
well,when Raiden stops the ship to avoid kill Snake,he will remember the times he spend with his girfriend,dont stop pulling "X" because there´s some flashbacks in there and the "X" marker dont apper,be aware.
I can confirm that you do not need to view the vibration/no-vibration video. I've actually never ever seen the non vibration variant and my trophy just popped when snakes scouts naomi's footprints after Laughing octopus.

sorry , when i meant a new game file i was referring to having to play a new game , but i have already got everything else includin bbe, i just want to use my stealth camo finish the game quick and ( reload) it on new game, but thats my issue during act 4 does areas like when the camera falls off still show? as well as "just like old times" come up on very easy? just wonderin
you dont need to hear the voices flashbacks, i didnt do and got trophy. however, one other trophy requires one flashback you use the camera up and you get drebin points for it also. another thing, just to make it easy, if you got all flashbacks, there will be 10.000 or 5.000 drebin points in flashbacks , just check the results after each act.
Is that a second run through though? I think they stack, so if you started a new game but on an old save then the flashbacks from the old save carry over... If that's just a new game then I had no idea there was so many, pretty sure I had closer to 100 on my first run throughs, but I definitely missed some. Pretty sure it wasn't that many though, that's insane.
