It's actually much worse for me ― it shows me the comment, even after days, maybe forever it will ― but when I go to the same video with a different account - I don't see the comment. So they are trying to fool me (and probably others). This is Evil!
Seriously though, I get the impression that the staff at UA-cam HQ aren't aware of how bad this has become. Someone needs to visit them in person and physically show them how normal comments get instantly deleted. It's my firm belief that the auto-delete bots and algorithms have malfunctioned and need restoring.
I love how UA-cam deletes so many legitimate comments but seems to be unable to detect even the most obvious spam (like usernames that advertise porn, WhatsApp scams, and Telegram scams).
Whatever is going on here, we aren't even pawns in the whole game. There is something far deeper and darker going on than just the shadowbanning of our comments.

I've had so many of my opinions get suppressed on this platform and have even had to reword them completely just to get them posted, UA-cam's censorship is out of control.

In my case its nothing to do with anything harmful. Sometimes it wont even show in harmless comments and replies about animals. No use of restricted words or anything. This is so annoying.
Same here @Eden-nd7rg. A lot of my comments disappear and I don't understand why. I'm always civil and I don't use foul language. I even had a comment about decluttering removed. It's extremely frustrating.

My comments always get deleted when I'm being attacked on youtube. My replies are never as bad as the people attacking me but mine are the ones getting deleted.

My wife said if she posts a comment that gets deleted later as a reply randomly to some other comment, it does not get deleted. I cannot confirm if this works. I am SO sick of this platform deleting my comments. I will write a thoughtful, informative two paragraph, and hit comment. I have learned to copy the comment and paste it into notepad to save locally. I refresh the vid my comment is on, and poof it is gone. I am really angry when I have not saved it, but mostly it does not matter because trying to post multiple time over multiple days, changing the wording, or even simplifying it to two words, it STILL get deleted. HUGE shadow censorship. OK, I am copying and pasting this comment to see if it gets deleted; if it does, I will just try again with comment deleted.
@@BrilliantDesignOnline There's different levels of shadowbanning comments. Most of the time you can find a copy of your comments under your history. But sometimes your comment will be suuuuch a crime against humanity that YT even removes it from your history.

I spend time and effort writing a comment. I find it extremely rude to have them deleted and I am left with absolutely no clue as to why, or even informed that it happened. It makes me strongly dislike UA-cam.

UA-cam literally allows my trolls to post death threats and stalking threats towards me, but I'll get censored for saying something like "Thanks I'm trying" or "Yes I agree" on another video. There's no logic or consistency to the censorship.
I literally asked why someone was being a rae cyst and got my comment removed for height speech. UA-cam is an a-boo-sive relationship, forcing me to type like an eddie yot.
I received a warning for a comment that supposedly violated UA-cam community guidelines. I have no idea what the comment was. Why it was in violation. Or how to contact UA-cam about. They seem to make it extremely difficult to contact anyone directly.
The worst is when you're having a civil conversation, and suddenly youtube instantly shadow-bans you forever in that video's comment section because you typed "harm" and "self" without 700 words in the middle.

One of the weirdest things is that my relatively tame comments in response (for example, in reply to people openly calling for genocide and wiping people off the earth) get shadow-banned (as in, only I can see them when logged in), while the original comments stay there. It's not just censorship. It's a certain kind of censorship. A dangerous one.

I'm now getting popup messages from UA-cam telling me my comment was removed and my account will be deleted if I keep making such comments. (It didn't even tell me which comment or why it was censored.) What on Earth is going on here?

UA-cam is looking for a reason to ban people who have expressed a religious or political comment that the owners don't approve of. But because having such an opinion isn't a valid reason to delete your account, it is pretending you have posted a comment that breaches their privacy policy. They're taking any comment you've posted, regardless of how innocent that comment was, shadowbanning it, then they can fake that it was a really bad comment so they can really delete the comment and delete you entirely.
Agree - I was thinking, if there could be a "mirror UA-cam" where discussions could be hosted with a searchable URL link to the UA-cam video. The video would *not* be embedded on the new site, but you'd be able to watch a video on UA-cam, then copy the url address, paste it on to the search engine at the mirror site and look for comment threads relating to the same video. That way we would be able to openly discuss stuff that UA-cam doesn't allow you to talk about freely.

I canceled my membership to YT premium as a result of having my comments deleted on any political channel. They get deleted despite being civil and polite.

A friend of mine gave me food for thought when he was explaining it in his usual way - by blaming aliens (bear with me here, it'll make sense). He has this thing; literally just for a laugh he'll find find way to blame aliens for anything. Sometimes it's just silly, others it's more elaborate - but always hilarious. As I say; he's not serious (one of his best was why ostriches don't fly). Anyway, he explained "hate speech" as something like this: the aliens are in control of all social media, but they're not too hot on language. They see "hate speech" as the two separate words, and not as a phrase. So, as we know hate speech as a phrase, the aliens (who control UA-cam) see it as hate, speech. So because they think that us humans hate speech, they restrict speech in general. It's actually funnier when you're drunk/stoned.
I get notification for comments I replied on but when I go back my reply isn't posted. It's odd to me that YT recognized that I did reply to a comment but doesn't show my reply. And often when I comment I will see there are zero like so I switch profiles and check and although it's still in the original profile, it doesn't show up when I look for it in my other one so no one is seeing my comment. This has been a big problem for a long time.
Every time i leave a comment about a South American Country and something about this website and costs. It vanishes within seconds, and i am not advocating anything dodgy, i just state what it costs there.
I have just pretty much thrown my hands up in the air. What else can be done? My most recent comment, I re-edited it a few times to add/change stuff, but even before that I could not see it when logged out (Whenever this happens to any of my comments, even all the said comments that this happened to being looked at from one of my parents laptops when I visit them, just, not showing up) it is the same garbage... Said comment, I deleted and reposted plenty of times as I tried changing certain symbols or just anything that might have otherwise set off a shadowban, but nothing changed (Haven't check this one it at my parents place, but why bother... It is the same with every comment that does not show). It should be illegal to do this stuff without notifying users and giving them all the reasons for it and what they can do to lift the ban instead of just leaving us in the dark. You have comments encouraging people to off themselves and that bully others, even with full on course words that are very popular and have been up for years, yet nothing is done with them... Hee is the thing (This comment is one of the exceptions to what I am about to say), over 90% of the comments that get banned are ones where i defend mens rights and stand up to bullying and try to help those being effected by it (Oh, and did I mention that almost all of those comments get full on deleted as well - Not even showing up in my comments history). I will be beyond amazed if this comment is actually seen by anyone... WHAT IS GOING ON UA-cam?!!

A few times I have been blocked for alleged hate speech. UA-cam never tells you what you said so it's useless. Once while blocked for 24 hours I fed back the same complaint 100 times, no response, no humans at work.
I'm straight up about to just delete my channel. Been here since 2008. Can't have any kind of debate here anymore. If this is how it's going to be, then good riddance, let UA-cam die. It's become an awful place and I don't see it ever being fixed at any point in the future.
I remember changing one word from a political comment I made long ago, and just as I edited it to include something that they did not agree with politically, all of the comments plus the add ons instantly got removed.

It would be convenient if before deletion there was a message that would explain why the comment might be deleted. Now UA-cam is deleting the most harmless comments that are not spam or advertising, and there is no explanation for this. Chances that your comment will be deleted: 50/50.
I just got a notification saying one of my comments was deleted for hate speech. I'm almost certain it was the one that said women are weaker than men biologically. If UA-cam is removing these comments that aren't supposed to be controversial, then idk what in the world UA-cam moderation is.

YT was run at loss for many years to capture all market share. They now run at a relatively break even... nobody really wants to complete with a profitless website... Happens very often. Comments are shadow-deleted/banned without a trace and zero notification. Thus you can type a literal paragraph only to revisit it a week later and, voila, it is missing, gone to the void. Kind of sinister to randomly censor and delete with no context.

Almost ALL of my comments are being taken down, any time I speak any type of truth. I never curse, never use belittling language, never say anything offensive.. yet no matter what, they disappear.
There are some people who may respond with mean words and abuse laughing emojis to humiliate you but their comments don't get deleted, but if you retaliate against them, your comments will be lost.

It's absolutely insane. There was an anti semetic guy in the comments of a cnn video that was called "das fuher" and he had a certain "austrian painter" as a pfp. All of his racist comments stayed up. Meanwhile my comments get deleted for slightly disagreeing with certain far-left beliefs.

Watching someone finally discuss this so openly feels like realising you still haven't gone mad. I have an account where most comments get this 'ghost' treatment; sometimes the first comment is fine, but no replies show up. Needless to say, there's also a lack of spice in the stuff I post, just as with many others. Keep up the good work.

That's exactly what's been happening to some of my comments. There are channels that allow me to post one comment but any subsequent ones? They're automatically hidden without any warning or ban messages. I could post a second comment right after the first one or a few weeks after, it doesn't matter. They all disappear a second after I hit submit.
It absolutely is. They run an algorithm which monitors everything posted. If your comment is flagged for whatever reason it is either hidden, deleted, or flagged for review and then subsequently deleted or hidden.
@Keys879 Also, sometimes, when I write comments on subjects that I feel strongly about with colorful language, etc., then I enter, and they don't even show up. For $25.00 a month, you would think I'd be able to express freedom of speech.
@@Keys879I don’t even think comments get flagged most of the time anymore. When I made this account in early 2007, anything could go without mass censorship. Times have changed. Now I regularly get the message ‘this operation couldn’t be completed’ when I edit comments, which means it has already been deleted.

Many times it’s like “that cop was trash” or something just simple. And like I said I’ll test it out and take both sides of an issue and get deleted no matter what. I’m being personally targeted.

Plus, I always strive to be polite, positive, respectful, and logical. If I am angry or don’t have anything good to say, or if what I say is not going to contribute any good to humanity, I refrain from commenting. Not for the algorithm, but because it’s how I was raised. Like the saying goes, ‘If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say it,’ So I choose not to comment. This video needs more views. This has been an ongoing problem on UA-cam for years, I think the first time I became aware of it was in 2016 or 2017. In my opinion it is fully intentional on UA-cam's part because often the deleted comment will remain visible, at least for a period of time, to the person who posted it. So in many cases people are having their comments deleted, and they don't even know it is happening.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind why they hide the comments. I just tried to type 20 perfectly reasonable comments on a funny video - zilch. All of them got hidden. I come on here and now YT is allowing me to post anything I like.

@@elbarto4069 I think he's better than a dimentia riddled joke of a president that's actively allowing the US to be invaded, but I think it's funny how a majority of people will never know these politicians more than their actual neighbors because they have a Rep team that gets paid good money to make them look good, not to mention they will only ever see them through a screen at MOST, yet they will pledge all of their trust in them.
Been having this issue since yesterday. My perfectly innocuous comments are being made invisible to other users, and even myself when not filtering a highlighted comment. Edit: but this one manages to stick the landing, I don't get it.
YT did NOT even have the common decency to tell what comment it was or even give me the opportunity to correct anything I may have done. I got this crazy POP Up message saying I violated YT's policy and I could lose my channel. "We've discovered the comments you left may have violated Community Guidelijnes........"
Literally just saw this,as soon as I got on here, myself. I'm like..ok... So... what was the comment? How do I find it? Is there a way to correct it? What was it even on? But there's nothing I can find, to see what it was!
You're lucky you even get notified. I put 10 minutes into a thought-out comment and don't even know it got deleted unless I refresh the page and check for myself.

It’s easy for an AI to read all comments on the UA-cam platform, then rate then by agenda and bias. After that UA-cam can flag all comments from that account as radical, good or bad. They own the platform; they can do whatever they want.
There is something equally bizarre happening now, too. I got an Australian news report recommended to me on UA-cam's main page so I curiously went to view it. When I got there, it showed me as having already thumbed-up the video. I'd never seen it before but assumed it was my mistake. When I looked at the other videos on that news channel, I'd magically thumbed them all up, too. What on Earth is going on here?

I am SO sick of this platform deleting my comments. I will write a thoughtful, informative two paragraph, and hit comment. I have learned to copy the comment and paste it into notepad to save locally. I refresh the vid my comment is on, and poof it is gone. I am really angry when I have not saved it, but mostly it does not matter because trying to post multiple times over multiple days, changing the wording, or even simplifying it to two words, it STILL get deleted. HUGE shadow censorship. OK, I am copying and pasting this comment to see if it gets deleted; if it does, I will just try again with comment deleted.
I've done this so many times, posting and reposting and checking an hour or more later to be sure the comment is still there - it will be gone in 12 to 24 hours. The weird thing is - my comments will be deleted, but they will send me notifications about replies in the comment thread I had initially posted. I'm finally done. All I can do now is watch videos and move on. On the flip side, at least it will save me from the energy drain of interacting with trolls and random rude disrespectful people, so there's that. Silver linings everywhere.
As much as I despise, and am a victim of, YT censorship, it's not protected by the free speech rights US citizens have under the First Amendment. It _is_ a business; they can do it if they want to. And, clearly, they do. However, it's maddening and sad that they can't wait for 1984 to become 100% reality. They're making it happen.
It's just AI it gets it wrong all the time which youtube obviously does not care about leaving its users suffering being unable to comment even innocuous things. they suck.

My comments get deleted all the time despite my 99% positivity in youtube comments. I legit thought channels were deleting mine for what ever reason. The amount of people I have unsubscribed from because I thought they were censoring me for some odd reason is vast. This video was informative, thanks.
Yup, I can relate. A couple of years ago, for several months, almost all of my comments were instantly being auto-deleted the moment I posted them (or at "best", they were being shadow-banned so that only I could see them). Fortunately, I learned about shadow-banning, and realized YT was doing it and stopped holding it against the channels. But that didn't make it feel like a complete waste of time to post comments anymore. 😒 Also, it's hard to not feel like my account is "tainted", like it's been flagged somewhere deep in the Algorithm's black-box, so that if I ever want to do YT, I'll have to use a fresh account since this one's "ruined". 🤦
Out of curiosity, are you using a VPN? I notice that when I use mine (PIA), that my comments disappear within 10 seconds, and when I don't use it, my comments stay.
I have two accounts on my phone, so now I always check if my comment is posted. Also you can quickly check if you are banned on the channel or not by simple one-word test comment and using different accounts. And yeah it seems like impossible to post most of long comments no matter how you change words, and finally you have to post it by parts or give up. Pure inhumanity.
its been an ongoing issue for at least a couple years i think, it doesn't matter what you say it deletes comments at complete random. Im usually having to copy what i say just incase it deletes it again for no reason so i dont have to type the entire thing again and then try to figure out which word was said that made it auto delete the comment. I wrote today a comment on a video about cats/kittens saying stuff like "Oh how beautiful and sweet they are, just cut the salami and give it to them in smaller pieces" because the video was showing a person feeding them too big pieces of salami which the cats had a little trouble masticating, and after less than one hour (I think) I got a warning from youtube that a comment of mine violated their policies and was deleted, and that if I keep leaving comments like that I might lose my account. And then I looked through my recent comments and this one about the cats was the one which was no longer there. How moronic did youtube get lately?? What was so wrong about my comment? I don't think it was the channel's author who reported it, because I always got nothing but likes before from the channel's owner for my other comments on that channel's other videos.

Been experiencing this for a while, and as a UA-cam premium member it’s infuriating. I just posted a lengthy, positive and loving comment on a cooking channel about my passion for Italian cooking as well as some tips I’ve learned from years of cooking. It was instantly removed. No profanity, nothing negative at all. This is getting absurd! I sent feedback directly to UA-cam and unsurprisingly they beat around the bush and do nothing. People need mail multiple letters to this platform's headquarters and leave scathing feedbacks everyday on their help and feedback section on this app. They'll eventually get the memo if more people started doing it. I'm leaving vile remarks on their feedback section everyday and it feels good. Now I'm about to write letters a couple times a week to their headquarters. More people need to join in.
I had comments deleted when I was having a discussion with another person. No cursing, no insults. I see the person responding to my comment that was removed. Some were pretty detailed with good information that took time to type out and just gone. It seems like they want to discourage people for even trying.

They know their ideas and beliefs don't hold up in a debate, so they put tape over their opponents mouths. It's their way of "winning".
In my case its nothing to do with anything harmful. Sometimes it wont even show in harmless comments and replies about animals. No use of restricted words or anything. This is so annoying.

@@BrilliantDesignOnline There's different levels of shadowbanning comments. Most of the time you can find a copy of your comments under your history. But sometimes your comment will be suuuuch a crime against humanity that YT even removes it from your history.

There is a word "нахохлиться" in Russian, which means "ruffle up" (like a bird, you know, when it's cold), but it's frequently being banned here and there not to hurt Ukranian soul as it can be treated as a cognate word to 'хохол' word, which has recently started to be treated as offensive and wicked by young Ukranians.

One of the weirdest things is that my relatively tame comments in response (for example, in reply to people openly calling for genocide and wiping people off the earth) get shadow-banned (as in, only I can see them when logged in), while the original comments stay there.

UA-cam is looking for a reason to ban people who have expressed a religious or political comment that the owners don't approve of.
But because having such an opinion isn't a valid reason to delete your account, it is pretending you have posted a comment that breaches their privacy policy. They're taking any comment you've posted, regardless of how innocent that comment was, shadowbanning it, then they can fake that it was a really bad comment so they can really delete the comment and delete you entirely.

Agree - I was thinking, if there could be a "mirror UA-cam" where discussions could be hosted with a searchable URL link to the UA-cam video. The video would *not* be embedded on the new site, but you'd be able to watch a video on UA-cam, then copy the url address, paste it on to the search engine at the mirror site and look for comment threads relating to the same video. That way we would be able to openly discuss stuff that UA-cam doesn't allow you to talk about freely.

A friend of mine gave me food for thought when he was explaining it in his usual way - by blaming aliens (bear with me here, it'll make sense).
He has this thing; literally just for a laugh he'll find find way to blame aliens for anything. Sometimes it's just silly, others it's more elaborate - but always hilarious. As I say; he's not serious (one of his best was why ostriches don't fly).
Anyway, he explained "hate speech" as something like this: the aliens are in control of all social media, but they're not too hot on language. They see "hate speech" as the two separate words, and not as a phrase. So, as we know hate speech as a phrase, the aliens (who control UA-cam) see it as hate, speech. So because they think that us humans hate speech, they restrict speech in general.
It's actually funnier when you're drunk/stoned.
I get notification for comments I replied on but when I go back my reply isn't posted. It's odd to me that YT recognized that I did reply to a comment but doesn't show my reply.
And often when I comment I will see there are zero like so I switch profiles and check and although it's still in the original profile, it doesn't show up when I look for it in my other one so no one is seeing my comment. This has been a big problem for a long time.
Every time i leave a comment about a South American Country and something about this website and costs. It vanishes within seconds, and i am not advocating anything dodgy, i just state what it costs there.

I have just pretty much thrown my hands up in the air. What else can be done? My most recent comment, I re-edited it a few times to add/change stuff, but even before that I could not see it when logged out (Whenever this happens to any of my comments, even all the said comments that this happened to being looked at from one of my parents laptops when I visit them, just, not showing up) it is the same garbage... Said comment, I deleted and reposted plenty of times as I tried changing certain symbols or just anything that might have otherwise set off a shadowban, but nothing changed (Haven't check this one it at my parents place, but why bother... It is the same with every comment that does not show). It should be illegal to do this stuff without notifying users and giving them all the reasons for it and what they can do to lift the ban instead of just leaving us in the dark. You have comments encouraging people to off themselves and that bully others, even with full on course words that are very popular and have been up for years, yet nothing is done with them... Hee is the thing (This comment is one of the exceptions to what I am about to say), over 90% of the comments that get banned are ones where i defend mens rights and stand up to bullying and try to help those being effected by it (Oh, and did I mention that almost all of those comments get full on deleted as well - Not even showing up in my comments history). I will be beyond amazed if this comment is actually seen by anyone... WHAT IS GOING ON UA-cam?!!

A few times I have been blocked for alleged hate speech. UA-cam never tells you what you said so it's useless.
Once while blocked for 24 hours I fed back the same complaint 100 times, no response, no humans at work.

Happens very often. Comments are shadow-deleted/banned without a trace and zero notification. Thus you can type a literal paragraph only to revisit it a week later and, voila, it is missing, gone to the void. Kind of sinister to randomly censor and delete with no context.

Almost ALL of my comments are being taken down, any time I speak any type of truth. I never curse, never use belittling language, never say anything offensive.. yet no matter what, they disappear.
There are some people who may respond with mean words and abuse laughing emojis to humiliate you but their comments don't get deleted, but if you retaliate against them, your comments will be lost.

It's absolutely insane. There was an anti semetic guy in the comments of a cnn video that was called "das fuher" and he had a certain "austrian painter" as a pfp. All of his racist comments stayed up. Meanwhile my comments get deleted for slightly disagreeing with certain far-left beliefs.

That's exactly what's been happening to some of my comments. There are channels that allow me to post one comment but any subsequent ones? They're automatically hidden without any warning or ban messages. I could post a second comment right after the first one or a few weeks after, it doesn't matter. They all disappear a second after I hit submit.

I have had my comments get deleted many times on various channels for a few years now. I have always believed it was youtube CENSORING comments.
It absolutely is. They run an algorithm which monitors everything posted. If your comment is flagged for whatever reason it is either hidden, deleted, or flagged for review and then subsequently deleted or hidden.

I have learned to copy the comment and paste it into notepad to save locally. I refresh the vid my comment is on, and poof it is gone. It’s good to know I’m not the only one I have a brother in arms. I do the same, like saving it to my Google Keep and such, or changing my comment and trying multiple times. Plus, I always strive to be polite, positive, respectful, and logical. This video needs more views. This has been an ongoing problem on UA-cam for years, I think the first time I became aware of it was in 2016 or 2017. In my opinion it is fully intentional on UA-cam's part because often the deleted comment will remain visible, at least for a period of time, to the person who posted it. So in many cases people are having their comments deleted, and they don't even know it is happening.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind why they hide the comments. I just tried to type 20 perfectly reasonable comments on a funny video - zilch. All of them got hidden. I come on here and now YT is allowing me to post anything I like.
Refresh until 20 seconds. If it's there in 20 seconds, it'll stay. Sometimes you gotta be creative. Like this.

@@elbarto4069 I think he's better than a dimentia riddled joke of a president that's actively allowing the US to be invaded, but I think it's funny how a majority of people will never know these politicians more than their actual neighbors because they have a Rep team that gets paid good money to make them look good, not to mention they will only ever see them through a screen at MOST, yet they will pledge all of their trust in them.
Been having this issue since yesterday. My perfectly innocuous comments are being made invisible to other users, and even myself when not filtering a highlighted comment. Edit: but this one manages to stick the landing, I don't get it.
YT did NOT even have the common decency to tell what comment it was or even give me the opportunity to correct anything I may have done. I got this crazy POP Up message saying I violated YT's policy and I could lose my channel. "We've discovered the comments you left may have violated Community Guidelijnes........"
Literally just saw this,as soon as I got on here, myself. I'm like..ok... So... what was the comment? How do I find it? Is there a way to correct it? What was it even on? But there's nothing I can find, to see what it was!
You're lucky you even get notified. I put 10 minutes into a thought-out comment and don't even know it got deleted unless I refresh the page and check for myself.

I come across comments I made weeks or months ago. Zero likes or replies. I copy the video link, sign out of YT, goto that video and the comment I left that got no like or replies in all that time isn't there anymore when I'm not signed in under my own acct. Cute.

My Comment was a POSITIVE comment ... meaning that ... i got BUSTED for being

It’s easy for an AI to read all comments on the UA-cam platform, then rate then by agenda and bias. After that UA-cam can flag all comments from that account as radical, good or bad. They own the platform; they can do whatever they want.
There is something equally bizarre happening now, too. I got an Australian news report recommended to me on UA-cam's main page so I curiously went to view it. When I got there, it showed me as having already thumbed-up the video. I'd never seen it before but assumed it was my mistake. When I looked at the other videos on that news channel, I'd magically thumbed them all up, too. What on Earth is going on here?

@@bennyskimThere's way more behind all this than that. Google/UA-cam programmers are some of the best out there. I'm a very average programmer and even I could've fixed that in minutes. I think this is all Ludditism, hacking relbellion from the coders against the political direction UA-cam is being forced into.
Remember, UA-cam is bigger than just UA-cam. It wouldn't surprise me they're playing around with what they can get away with.
I've had that recently. I can't recall what channel it was, but it's one i've never watched one video from,so i'm not subscribed to it, but there it was, a 'thumbs up'.

I am SO sick of this platform deleting my comments. I will write a thoughtful, informative two paragraph, and hit comment. I have learned to copy the comment and paste it into notepad to save locally. I refresh the vid my comment is on, and poof it is gone. I am really angry when I have not saved it, but mostly it does not matter because trying to post multiple times over multiple days, changing the wording, or even simplifying it to two words, it STILL get deleted. HUGE shadow censorship. OK, I am copying and pasting this comment to see if it gets deleted; if it does, I will just try again with comment deleted.

I've done this so many times, posting and reposting and checking an hour or more later to be sure the comment is still there - it will be gone in 12 to 24 hours. The weird thing is - my comments will be deleted, but they will send me notifications about replies in the comment thread I had initially posted. I'm finally done. All I can do now is watch videos and move on. On the flip side, at least it will save me from the energy drain of interacting with trolls and random rude disrespectful people, so there's that. Silver linings everywhere.

As much as I despise, and am a victim of, YT censorship, it's not protected by the free speech rights US citizens have under the First Amendment. It _is_ a business; they can do it if they want to. And, clearly, they do. However, it's maddening and sad that they can't wait for 1984 to become 100% reality. They're making it happen.

My comments get deleted all the time despite my 99% positivity in youtube comments. I legit thought channels were deleting mine for what ever reason. The amount of people I have unsubscribed from because I thought they were censoring me for some odd reason is vast. This video was informative, thanks.
Yup, I can relate. A couple of years ago, for several months, almost all of my comments were instantly being auto-deleted the moment I posted them (or at "best", they were being shadow-banned so that only I could see them). Fortunately, I learned about shadow-banning, and realized YT was doing it and stopped holding it against the channels. But that didn't make it feel like a complete waste of time to post comments anymore. 😒
Also, it's hard to not feel like my account is "tainted", like it's been flagged somewhere deep in the Algorithm's black-box, so that if I ever want to do YT, I'll have to use a fresh account since this one's "ruined". 🤦
Out of curiosity, are you using a VPN? I notice that when I use mine (PIA), that my comments disappear within 10 seconds, and when I don't use it, my comments stay.
Same here. The more mean spirited ones stay while the nice ones with real info get the boot. It's disgusting.
I have two accounts on my phone, so now I always check if my comment is posted. Also you can quickly check if you are banned on the channel or not by simple one-word test comment and using different accounts. And yeah it seems like impossible to post most of long comments no matter how you change words, and finally you have to post it by parts or give up. Pure inhumanity.
its been an ongoing issue for at least a couple years i think, it doesn't matter what you say it deletes comments at complete random. Im usually having to copy what i say just incase it deletes it again for no reason so i dont have to type the entire thing again and then try to figure out which word was said that made it auto delete the comment. I can say the least offensive and normal things and they get deleted, I have to use like 5 different accounts to have a conversation in a single reply. UA-cam is horrible with the comment censorship

I wrote today a comment on a video about cats/kittens saying stuff like "Oh how beautiful and sweet they are, just cut the salami and give it to them in smaller pieces" because the video was showing a person feeding them too big pieces of salami which the cats had a little trouble masticating, and after less than one hour (I think) I got a warning from youtube that a comment of mine violated their policies and was deleted, and that if I keep leaving comments like that I might lose my account. And then I looked through my recent comments and this one about the cats was the one which was no longer there.
How moronic did youtube get lately?? What was so wrong about my comment? I don't think it was the channel's author who reported it, because I always got nothing but likes before from the channel's owner for my other comments on that channel's other videos.
i just got the same warning. mine was accusing me of posting spam. and i dont do that. it would be helpful if they could redirect you to ''offending'' comment so you could edit it or delete it. this just came out of nowhere.

Been experiencing this for a while, and as a UA-cam premium member it’s infuriating. I just posted a lengthy, positive and loving comment on a cooking channel about my passion for Italian cooking as well as some tips I’ve learned from years of cooking. It was instantly removed. No profanity, nothing negative at all. This is getting absurd! I sent feedback directly to UA-cam and unsurprisingly they beat around the bush and do nothing. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to copy this post in case I need to repost it after being deleted…😂

People need mail multiple letters to this platform's headquarters and leave scathing feedbacks everyday on their help and feedback section on this app. They'll eventually get the memo if more people started doing it. I'm leaving vile remarks on their feedback section everyday and it feels good. Now I'm about to write letters a couple times a week to their headquarters. More people need to join in.
I had comments deleted when I was having a discussion with another person. No cursing, no insults. I see the person responding to my comment that was removed. Some were pretty detailed with good information that took time to type out and just gone. It seems like they want to discourage people for even trying.
