I was originally going to comment, that this moment was the peak of melee. Until I realized they probably said that about MLG 2006. then melee died, rebirthed, and gave us so many epic moments and stories in the past decade. So here’s to another decade of melee 🥂

@@user-wx2vf4ii1b I used to think this cuz recent Hbox is actually very hype (not as effective either), but when you see Hbox back against the wall in a tournament he really wants to win, he is not afraid to make certain sacrifices to win, being ready to time out, ledgestall his opponents. I still think Hbox is cool and doesn't deserve the hate, but sometimes 'slow' isn't enough of a descriptor for some of his past matches.
I watched Emp's video on HBox.....I still don't get why such a large portion of a community hates/hated the guy.......He was working his arse off to win and was pretty much the underdog in any match that he played against a Fox main.....yet was able to consistently win.

I'm a smash 4 player and while I respect how Melee players don't blame characters, any pair of characters can play each other and have an equal chance of winning in Melee. A Pichu can beat a Fox easily. Meanwhile in smash 4, a Jigglypuff has almost no chance against a Bayonetta in tournament.
actually, i think it's quite the opposite in smash 4. in melee, you rarely are gonna see a low-tier character take out a mid/top level player using a high tier. there's just no way. (unless this is m2k's pichu we're talking about, or maybe dj nintendo's bowser) in smash 4, however, we've seen stuff like brood defeating zero, mekos defeating nairo, lazyboredom defeating captain zack, t defeating abadango, elegant defeating mkleo and placing 2nd in a supermajor, etc...
Nah, Smash 4 has far more lob-sided character matchups than Melee. Solo maining in high-level is impossible outside 5 or so characters, which is worse than Melee both numerically and ratio wise.
@@d4c_reznor470 most figthing ganes uses double elimination brackets. Un Grand final the winners of losers and winner finals square off. The one from winners was never eliminated, so he must be defeated twice, if You win the first ser it's called a reset
You can’t make this stuff up… melee’s longevity is in its lack of parody believe it or not. Games die when there’s a new champ every major. Cinderella stories are great … but I want to see Duke vs UNC at the end.
