good basic video, ty for the post. Had problems with my wifi for the longest time. Seems one of the antenna cables was not properly connected. Think this happened when a tech worked on this a while back and did not connect them backup right. In this case the white wire was plugged back in at all. The wire was wrapped around the post for the screw on the internal drive and could not reach the input spot. I actually replaced the drive this morning so taking this out again was easy enough to get to that wire and move it. Does take a moment or two to get the wire to pop in to place. Works like it should now
Hi just put a wwan card in my dell venue 11 pro, the wires were two tone , unlike your black ane white one , but tablet working great on 3g. Many thanks.
Zac Guo I ordered the Huawei ME906V, its LTE and 4G and comes factory unlocked so it can be used on any GSM network. Drivers can be tricky but there are install guides: forum.tabletpcreview.com/threads/guide-getting-huawei-sms-gps-4g-working-with-dell-venue-11-pro.64759/#post-421121
Greetings!. I got a Venue 11 Pro 7139 (Thought it was the 7130 version until I saw the fingerprint reader in the back). I opened it and I can see the SSD Drive as well as the Wifi card, still the setup is quite different from the one you have and somehow cannot see the WWAN slot. Perhaps I have to continue unassembling to find it?. Have you come to this type of Venue tablet version before? Thanks!
William Ernesto Cornejo Sanchez I managed to find the video instructions from DELL to open the 7139 version. The slot is there, but to access it its necessary to disassemble even further!.
I just bought the Sierra Wireless Airprime 68dp9 em8805 to include 3g / 4g capability on my dell venue 11 model 7139. I need to find a video how to open it to install. Please give me a hand. All I fond was for the 7130. On the 7139 the back is a little different because it has also the fingerprint security stuff as you said here Best,
I too have a Venue 11 Pro 7139 , The Back is similar to the Illustration of Dell Venue 11i Pro, available in the below Link from dell downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_tab_mob/esuprt_tablets/dell-venue-11i-pro_setup%20guide_en-us.pdf Tried hard with Dell to find any reference regarding replacing the WWAN card. Can you share the other video you have mentioned in the above post may be it will be helpful for me.
I just added the wwan to my 7139 i5. You have to take all the screws out of the back...make sure you have them laid out the way you took them out as some as smaller and there is one bigger screw which I had to use for the wwan card. Make sure you have removed the micro sd card (if you have one installed) and holder . Once all the screws are out you have to pop off the back from the screen. You can try using a finger nail but I also had to use something plastic to help pry the back off. I wouldn't use anything metal as that could cause damage. Once the back off the wwan slot and wires are exposed. Put the card in the slot and use the large screw that you took out of the back to screw down the card.. The wires connect so that (looking from the back) the wire coming from the top of unit goes to the bottom of the card and the wire coming from the right and side goes to the top of the card.i can't remember which colour is which. Getting the wires to pop on took me the longest. Once you have that done, check and re assemble.. Hope that helps.
I forgot to mention that there is a sticker at the top right which I took off and exposes a smart card reader (in mine anyway). There are two screws in the smart card that I removed. I also removed the two cables hidden behind to pop out slots just above the battery slot. This helps to when you take the back off.
Yes, your o.s. is on the istalled SSD, but upgrades are so so,so much easier than before .If you have an activated windows 10 install already all you have to is download the Windows Media Creation Tool follow the instructions.....carefully ! Read instructions completely at least twice click once....is my motto. Every since the Win 10 Digital license (called a digital entitlement in Windows 10 Version 1511) is a method of activation in Windows 10 that doesn't require you to enter a product key. So no problems installing new ssd as long as you have a windows live i.d. Works for me every time so forget issues like product keys
You can freely (and legally) download windows 8.1 in iso format from Microsoft, then just use Microsoft's USB tool to make a usb thumbdrive into a bootable installation and since Dell tablets have the OS activation information in the bios all you have to do is install it.
Yea. Whole bunna people including me.. had to try damn near everything to get it to run on battery again but still only recognizes the keyboard battery only., pita..
Can I swap out a Dell venue 11 Pro 7130 core i3, 4gb ram motherboard with another 7130 motherboard containing a core i5 Cpu & 8gb ram? Is there a physical size difference that won't let it fit?
be careful the ports and cutouts/positions of things move around model to model...i went from 7139 to 7140 and had to replace all my covers, only thing same place was keyboard connectors..even speakers moved
Nice review. Exactly what I was looking for.
Is changing the SSD really plug and play?
There is no need to adapt something softwarewise?

Where’s the ram located? I want to increase it to 8gb
+1, would like to know as well.
Ram is soldered. Upgrade might be a challenge!
Interesting how that m.2 drive is keyed as a SATA device but the slot is full NVME pinout. At least as far as I could see....
Why not connect the wi fi cables first then locate and secure the module ? just a thought
Why the sim card is inserted from the inside?

No, as with most mobile devices, the CPU is an "on board" CPU, meaning its not socketed.
