Fun fact about NiN. Trent Reznor writes all the songs, and plays all the instruments for his CDs. He hires people to play instruments for live concerts. He plays the guitar, bass, drums, piano, keyboards, etc. He's a musical talented genius. You should react to NiN - The Perfect Drug.
He doesn't play drums(I mean, there's that section of 'Piggy', but he was technically just doing a sound check and liked what he heard), besides programming; definitely everything else though!
And he was doing all these before the internet. Today is way more easier to have your own studio and learn instruments through online classes in your own place.
if you can, you should consider getting a splitter because NIN is particularly experimental with stereo sounds and switching from right to left. It'll sound so much better if you can hear the full thing in both ears. Some songs bounce the parts all around in the mix and it sounds amazing.
try "la mer" by NIN. probably the most emotionally powerful song i've heard. reznor came up with it while battling suicidal thoughts, and you can hear the hopeless coming out immediately, and then finally comes back to his senses towards the end.
Great reaction! You guys should consider getting a splitter for multiple headphone sets, NIN uses a lot of stereoscopic sound editing. Not all sounds will appear in both headphone halves at all times, effectively causing you to only hear parts of the song depending on which half you have
I like that you went into the soberity era Reznor work. So many people get stuck in the first three albums and EP. If you're looking for aggression in this era, check out the 2016-2018 trilogy release.
Foo FIghters . Dear Rosemary, My Hero, Best of you anythign live .. Ive seen no reactions to them out there and they are fuckign huge live . Freaking amazing
Wish is awesome! Especially if you find and hd live video. Nin songs that follow more of this song's format and more varied a d complex: Ruiner, the becoming
Industrial which has more of a beat for the club vs Rock or Metal. Probably not the best song to start with. NIN is pretty much one person Trent. He added a band for live performance. Most will tell you Wish, Closer or Hurt as a first reaction but they probably are to dark to start with. To get a good idea of who Trent is I recommend. mr self destruct , heresy and/or march of the pigs
Ive never really delved into NIN... know their radio play bout it. This a first for me too. Bad ass. Im converted.. somebody needs to sample that and rap some heavy shit on it...
He produced the album "the inevitable rise and fall of Niggy Tardust" of Saul Williams. He admitted he used a lot of unused material from The Fragile, but it's still a great album.
I was thinking the same thing about sampling this for a heavy rap song. The best person to do that would probably be mike shinoda from lp considering that nin along with Depeche mode, who I also recommend, is one of his biggest influences and i often consider mike to be the trent reznor of hip hop. Fun fact, Trent used Depeche mode black celebration as the major influence for pretty love hate machine, nin debut album.
Sin, Last, Ruiner, The Day The Whole World Went Away, Every Day Is Exactly The Same, The Great Destroyer, Letting You, Copy Of A. These are all my personal faves from each main album, you gotta listen to them.
Note the percussion throughout the song does not follow any exact pattern/cycle. It is following along to a much more complex overall rhythm, which you briefly hear just after the piano kicks in, but he chooses to never repeat the exact beat, until it becomes a different, more synthy beat, just before he starts singing in a higher register. The percussion at the start of the song is just fascinating to listen to... like a song under a song.
If you like this, you might like How to Destroy Angels. It's a project that Trent Reznor did with his wife, Mariqueen. She does the singing, and it's so haunting and beautiful.
Watching you love NIN is like...my happy place lol. SO many other good songs, that btw dont have such a long build up. This album is Full of them..but THANK you for doing this one, and loving it.
Guys, you really can't react to music listening with one ear....c'mon now. I left the video as soon as I saw. Especially Nine Inch Nails... Music like that is a stereo experience, you simply CAN'T appreciate it without both of you ears...
Never listened to much NIN, only really heard Hurt before this. Gonna ask for a couple of songs, I hope this is OK. I am including the link for each to make it easier to find the best versions. Thanks, Tim & Fred! 2cellos "Voodoo People" [live at Arena di Verona] ua-cam.com/video/Wr3mrlppJ8I/v-deo.html and 2cellos "Purple Haze" Jimi Hendrix cover ua-cam.com/video/Ae23y2D8VSI/v-deo.html
Agreed on NIN being an acquired taste. Their blend of techno and metal (industrial?) is unique. I like some of their stuff myself but can't consider myself a fan.
that was a fucking great reaction, seemed to me like yall was reacting like musicians, where do i find your shit on soundcloud????? people only react like that when they make shit. also. i think yall would appreciate the fuck out of into the void by nin, also nine inch nails is one dude and did an album with saul williams, peep the song wtf off of niggy tardust (thats a david bowie reference) WTF, youll love it
This is BY FAR not even in the top 20 NIN songs. Y'all were let down. Like the other comments, any track from his first album "Pretty Hate Machine" is better than this one IMO.
I don't know, it's nice to see them appreciate a lesser known song. NIN has a pretty diverse sound that has evolved a lot over time, ya know? If they listen to an earlier song later, they will start to get a better feel of their range.
I didn't like them back in the day, because they killed the underground industrial music scene while it was developing...by taking it mainstream... but they ok :)
guy in red was in pound town right before the track started pounding. he'd have got a pay off no end, guy in white paused it. and just before the message hit home, guess who stopped it.

Isn’t he also his own producer, as well?
@@mickefy yes he is. He's a one man talent show lol.
@@DerangedVoices That’s the way to do it! Although, him adding his wife for HTDA is wonderful!

I was thinking this. You need ALL the surround sound.
FINALLY! Do any song from "Pretty Little Hate Machine"! "Head Like a Hole" got the most radio play.
Do more Nine Inch Nails. They just got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2020
You mean "him". NIN is just Trent Reznor
@@cvx5595 and Atticus Ross
Jaromír Šmíd and maybe Finck. One day 🖤
What an unusual NIN song for your first! I suggest head like a hole, wish, down in it, the Becoming, SIN, or Closer.
NIN: Head like a hole and Something I can never have ❤
Best artists in the world reach across genres. Bless.
try "la mer" by NIN. probably the most emotionally powerful song i've heard. reznor came up with it while battling suicidal thoughts, and you can hear the hopeless coming out immediately, and then finally comes back to his senses towards the end.
This is my favorite band!
Sunspots by NIN
One of my favorites
For some aggression, try NIN: Wish
So love that song and video!
or march of the pigs
Wish is just a thrash anthem. IF you want real aggression, go for Ruiner, or The Becoming.
Wish is my fury track
For agression I go w NIN Somewhat Damaged
NIN is my FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE EVER.
You guys will like "nine inch nails- closer" and also... same band... pretty much the entire "Fragile" album.
Great reaction! You guys should consider getting a splitter for multiple headphone sets, NIN uses a lot of stereoscopic sound editing. Not all sounds will appear in both headphone halves at all times, effectively causing you to only hear parts of the song depending on which half you have

Thank you for reacting to Nine Inch Nails. It's the first time I listened to this song. Never heard it before.

I would love to see your guys reaction to their most well known song Closer
Spanning across the full catalog I would recommend Ring finger, Last, Closer, The Fragile, and Survivalism.
Ive never really delved into NIN... know their radio play bout it. This a first for me too. Bad ass. Im converted.. somebody needs to sample that and rap some heavy shit on it...

That's a Queen remake! Both excellent.
Sin, Last, Ruiner, The Day The Whole World Went Away, Every Day Is Exactly The Same, The Great Destroyer, Letting You, Copy Of A. These are all my personal faves from each main album, you gotta listen to them.
OMG Yesss! NIN is my 2nd all time fave!!

Check out the Ministry song called N.W.O
Meggie Troili Jesus built my hot rod is more fun
Trent wrote Old Town Road... kind of lol
March of the Pigs
You should check out Me I'm Not or Starfuckers Inc by NIN.
You should check out Closer by NIN
The piano on the song is Trent Reznor who basically is nine inch nails🤓
The Perfect Drug is perfect NIN🙌
Mmm, Closer, Ringfinger, Sin all of these would be good to do...
YOU HAVE TO DO THEIR MOST POPULAR SONG.. Closer.. it has the best beat.. this song is great.. but look up closer and you will just WANT to do it
Lol..If you do Closer I swear to god I will share your link w everyone I have Ever met lmao. You guys are awesome.
Such a good song. Y’all def need to use a speaker or headphones in both ears tho. One ear only will distort the sound.
React to Nine Inch Nails “The Great Destroyer”.
Reptile is a great song
React to the song Discipline!
Reaction video to Reptile by Nine Inch Nails
You need to listen to Nine Inch Nails - Head Like A Hole. It's amazing!
He's beautiful
Love your NiN reviews! Please check out Eraser - that has the drop you're looking for.
Dr. Dre and Trent do a lot of ghost producing on each other's records.
That's so interesting, I would never had thought of that pairing if it wasn't for the song Dre produced for The Fragile.
someone better get that man in the gc his two dutches for Christmas
Trent has Dre production on one of his songs.
Dre was credited on Where is Everybody on The Fragile.
@@kinslayermds I was thinking it was Even Deeper.
Even Deeper
I recommend The Cat's Pajamas by I Wrestled a Bear Once.

NIN - Down In It - or anything from Pretty Hate Machine
Me, I’m Not by NIN

More NIN please. And you should be using proper stereo phones.
"Try head like a hole" or "the wretched"
You Know What You Are? NIN
Same album w/ Dave Grohl on drums👌 It gets loud is an understatement🔥🔥🔥
Please watch Mr Jones by counting crows, and walking in Memphis by mark cohn! Itll make you go hammy

Give a reaction to Closer, by Nine Nich Nails... or Head Like A Hole....BANGERS
Next listen to Hand That Feeds
But for real, I recommend you check out The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.
Or check out a classical piece, Summer by Vivaldi.
Yo, check out the DR. DRE co-produced Nine Inch Nails song EVEN DEEPER!!

Listen to Perfect Drug by NIN
NIN is an acquired taste. Good musicians probably got their influence from Frank Zappa
