Hey, I'm getting kind of a hollow sound through samson c01u pro when i speak through a distance of around 20-30 cm, i hate getting too close. while monitoring my own voice, i can hear the horn and the other sounds, i don't understand because i live at 13th floor and after closing window, i don't hear any noise but my mic can. Can i any suggestions you have any, would be really helpful..

I had a C01 around 10 years ago and the quality is quite surprising for such a cheap device.
surprisingly the c01 sounds better
DJ Afreeka it will because they upgraded the a to d converters, but that's only because it's the pro version, also the c01u is hyper cardioid while the c03u is normal

C03 sounds more open when recording voices and acoustic guitars. Surprisingly it behaves like a filter when recording an amp.

I just ordered one, my brother had the normal co1u and I loved it so I bought my own only mine is the pro version and I was lucky enough to get the exclusive black version of it, I'm glad to see so many positive reviews and I do a lot a voice overs in my type of videos and all of my family does music and especially my brother my dad and I love recording music (mostly guitar and bass for all of us but I play clarinet as well, ) also not trying to like advertise of promote anyone but I picked mine up in black at B&H for 59.99

In terms of noice production, I think that C03U was producing a slight hiss. I have to say, that Samson really recovered from the hate towards the C01U(classic), that was producing a hell lot of noice. The Samson C01U Pro is really a great choice now, and I'm very happy to own one(actually thanks to you as well).

I'm not sure why but I still feel like the c03u wins because of the more ''options'' you have, at the same time, it seems like the c01u is better for ''one direction'' recordings. Anyway, great review, good quality and overview, keep it up!
c03u in the cardiod pattern its full pickup, the c01u is hypercardoid so it sounds a bit thinner
Thanks for another good comparison. Condenser mics normally pickup more background noise, how did you get the audio to sound so clear with less hiss or background noise with the C01u Pro?

I have a C01U. I have absolutely HORRIBLE background noise. I've had it for about 5 years and I think I'm upgrading soon. Is the difference between the normal C01U and the Pro so drastic? I'm at a friends house trying to record some vocals/guitar and the background is so, so bad. Is it defect or did you use some kind of noise removal in this video. It sounds freaking amazing in the video, compared to what mine does.
Really hope you read this, it's been bugging me for years.
I have the C01U Pro, and the sound is fantastic and clear, but keep in mind that it is a condenser microphone, very sensitive, you have to be careful not to give it so much gain and if you do not want to hear barking 4 blocks away from your neighbor's dog.

Wish you tested the other options of c03u just for the audience to know how it works and what it can do!
C01u seems a bit brighter at first, but if you listen closely, the C03u is better and livelier.

i am confused about audio technica at-2020 usb vs Samson C01u Pro which is the best ?
Light For Color all depends on your voice, the original c01u ( non pro version ) is known for being the cheap version of a u87 and by my experience it really is, the at2020 is super thin and harsh but if you get close to the at2020 it does sound nice but you don't always want to have to do that due to certain frequencies in your beat bashing with each other , I'd say go for the c01u pro or the Samson gtrack pro
Aside from the mic itself, do you use a separate equipment before you plug it to your computer’s usb port?

also with the old c01u and c03u if you turn the gain up passed 45 on windows you can hear the converters switch, everything comes out insanely clear but then you are limited to your volume control of your voice or instrument which kinda sucks lol

I got a question, I have the samson meteor mic and noticed that it seems like I just don't have the fullest sound from my voice. it's a good mic, but was it not the best for vocal performing?

c03u = full cardioid ( in that 1 pick up pattern)
c01u pro has upgraded a/d converters so it is more clear

Would you recommend any of these for gaming/livestreaming? I was thinking either rode Nt USB or rode podcaster but I know nothing about mics which do you recommend?
Its hard to always have my mouth super close to the mic while gaming and I'd like to avoid sound being picked up by my open back headphones and limit keyboard noise.

+Oliver Connaughton Most mics are going to pick up background noise and noise from open back headphones. Something like a Shure SM48 may be a good option for you, but, it's a mic that would need to be close to your mouth to get the best sound. The Rode Podcaster is slightly narrower polar pattern than the NT-USB which means it would pick up less background noise...BUT...it will still p ick up background noise.

heavy hitters indeed, all those usb mics sounds like toys, with neuman u87 you dont need anything else, too expensive, well with any industry standard you are fine, like sennheiser mkh 416, over 40 years standard in the industry, but you know what i find a bit funny? is all this so call (audiophiles) spending thousands in a bunch of stuff, and i ask my self, most of the time, records where made with the same equipment, apogee or digidesing dac avalon 737sp and mac with protools, so why they spent so much in headphone preamps? i seen 50k wires, makes no sense to me because, the same equipment that was good enough to CREATE THAT RECORDING, is supposed to be good enough to REPRODUCE that recording, i just dont get it.

telefunken is overpriced at 10 grand, elam vintage 20 grand too much, i cud afford all that stuff in year 2007 cud take 100grand and spent it on that, now the music busnises is not the same and i was young and stupid, i regret now.

All the specs are available online. You would also need a USB Audio Interface.
