I own a pair of these and am quite impressed. Presently, I'm using the C03 for my studio vlog mic and for upcoming podcasts...I was looking into purchasing a SM7B, but I just don't see where I'll gain enough compared to the cost of the Shure mic. This Samson is a winner in my book....
Thanks man, that's a nice review. Was actually deciding between these two mics so that's perfect! Think I will take the Rode. You seem like a likeable guy as well, have a nice day!
I certainly hope you have become a professor of some sort by now, because you really know how to effectively convey ideas - clear, concise, and positive!!
Shame you didn’t do a sound test for all of the three options because I was interested in hearing the ‘figure of 8’ / bi-directional. Oh well, maybe next time :)
Hey man, Great video. I have one of these and finally want to upgrade but not spend a ton of money. Do you have a recommendation for a mic that is the next level of quality but still affordable?
Hello sir....what about the noise floor of that samson?...did you hear any self noise...I ask.because I'm interested , but I have heard that it's a noisy mic....what's your honest opinion...I need a budget mic for voice over, that offers some acceptable level of clean audio
Hello, i m a guitarist i play on accoustic classic as i started to test and used this SAMSON MIC with Logic Pro i ve noticed that if i play one note the sustain of the sound disappear very fast UNFORTUNATLY it seems that if the signal is not loud enough the mic stop to capture that s a big issue the guitar i use provide such interesting sustain harmonies so i don t get the point with this MIC really / it should be able to capture the signal all along till the sound is releasing... !? did U noticed this fact ?
That depends on what you're looking to achieve. If you just want convenience and podcast is all you do, the the USB version is easy to use. The reason it's more expensive is because it has an in-built analog to digital audio converter.
@@BagusWibisono honestly I'm doing it on my ear phones... not the best but better than my samsons audio-techinca ATH-PRO5MK2.... but there are much better ones these days... I dont mix too much... and now mostly podcasts and spoken word so its easier...
Vinci Andrés Belalcázar Yabur hi bro i hv got zoom h5 even i am planning to go for samson c 03 for the xlr input..as far the reviews i have checked so far its good to go..
Yes, its a good beginner mic. Learn it, exploit it, use it till you outgrow it - then upgrade. You'll learn to appreciate the more expensive mics later on.
??? I’ve looked and watched several time’s hun. It doesn’t show anything, just you testing your voice. Do you use another cable to connect from the phantom to your device??
@@BittaSweet83 I activated phantom power on the audio interface (at the back), with just a push of the button. www.gearank.com/sites/default/files/komplete-audio-6.jpg
You did a comparison with two microphones, the Samson C03 and the Rode NT1, which of these is a better microphone for recording vocals in a small home studio.
I've no experience using the Nova. that said, the Nova has existed a long time and from the reviews I see online, it's another budget style microphone. I personally think you'll go further with the Samson CO3, because of the many pickup patterns and low cut filter
It was your review a yr and half back :) ,i watched and then purchased this mic along with Focusrite- Scarlett 2i2, I used this to do few recording then, but unfortunately i stopped making recording over other priority work. I now want to re-utilize this mic for normal live vocal performance instead of acoustic room recording, Is this possible ? if yes how ? what setting , accessories etc required plz help. i didn't get or cud understand help abt his on google.. :(
large condenser microphones are not so preferred on stage - as it potentially causes lots of feedback. It is possible, but rarely used. Equipments needed is the same, minus an audio interface, but a mixer or pre-amp with phantom power.
I'd agree with you. Not too good for trained ears and professionals. I find it to be a little dull. But for beginners, it's nice to have one of this for practice and small projects.
Then again, what kind of recording purpose? Vocals? Guitar? .. I'd say go for the CO3 and learn the mic placements correctly. You get some pleasing results with condenders
CO3. you dont need much acoustic treatment to record. Just get creative. For instance, i recorded this in just a corner of an office. I thought it worked okay: ua-cam.com/video/RZMZeuMb_Kw/v-deo.html

Dan Cartlidge what do you use to connect it to the camera? An XLR adapter box?

I have the C01, and it works great. The background sound can be EQed out, and I just think it’s a great option to start!
Hi, thanks for the nice tut, Reuben! What if I connected this mic to an amp that provides with 15+ phantom power, will it still work?
What is the gain requierments
I will take C03 nice
a very interesting review

Never noticed that fact. The mic shouldn't stop to capture anything unless you're playing around with your gain levels as you were recording.
thanks this was very helpful
gracias
what do you think about the noise?
is it enough to interfere or is still normal when taking vocals for professional results?
The noise level is alright. But the 'quality' of the mic can be noticeable by trained ears.
Hello I’m a filmmaker would you recommend this for doing voice overs??? If not which one would you recommend??
Depends on the level of films you're doing. If for serious broadcast, get something like the Rode NT1-A or Se Electronics X1 S at minimum.
Gracias!!
Thanks brother..
Hey man, nice review. Could you please tell me what's the music at the start of the video? I've been looking for it but I just can't find it.
Which is the best c01 or c03 ???
Many cheaps mics that cost 20-30 USD have a high treble tone. Is it a case for c03 as well?
idk if you reading this but what is the differenz between the co3 and the co3u??
Teeewurst CO3 is with an XLR connection. The CO3U is with USB connection . The 'U' stands for USB.
I read every comment 😏
Reuben Chng but why costs the usb like 20$ more? And on the usb version it says that it is ideal for Podcasting?? So it is the 20$ more worth?
That depends on what you're looking to achieve. If you just want convenience and podcast is all you do, the the USB version is easy to use. The reason it's more expensive is because it has an in-built analog to digital audio converter.
My mic a little noise like sssstssssttsstt ..how to fix it bro? Btw i used soundcard merk Alctron Xu 2
hi man.. this samson speaker still great for mixing/mastering music or home recording? And olso for guitar? I plan to buy Resolv SE5

SURYYA BARUAH most mics will. The Samson will work beautifully with the Audient. As you progress, you'd want to get better mics
What is the Software you use?

definitely the Rode NT1A if you compare between this two
What is best mic switch in vocals?
Hi good information. But can you please verify this. Can I use this with a vocal harmonies boss v2??
Yes you can. The vocal harmonies boss v2 seems to have phantom power function.
Is it better than the MXL 770?
Yup. I personally vouch for it.
Hi! I would like to star recording covers, do you recomend me this michophone?
yes it would be good as a beginner's microphone. But go for something better if you want better results. I'm coming out with few new videos soon.
Reuben Chng it would be great! The problem is that I should buy the microphone At Spain 😅 hope there are here!
m audio nova vs samson c03 which one is best and y?

You're right sometimes sounds very gray
what is mean by multi pattern?
It means it has few pickup pattern modes.
