These video courses are a unique resource for adapting Indian Classical Music to the guitar. The knowledge I am able to present here is largely thanks to my Gurus Roopa Panesar and Shakir Khan who both play sitar. They have provided much of the raw material and I have used my experience as a guitarist, teacher and sitar student to develop the techniques and stylistic choices to suit this beautiful and powerful style of playing.

Your knowledge about Indian classical music is really amazing. I never loose the opportunity to watch your videos almost everyday.
I just want to ask you. I am playing a Raga in scale of C major. Can you tell me what tuning I should use. Thanks.
Thank you for this question I will be doing a Q&A video very soon to cover this and other questions.
Hello again. I have now made the Q & A video to answer your question. Thanks for your interest.

Great teacher of 🎸
Thank you kindly!
Nice info
Thanks
Have you ever used this Indian tuning on a baritone guitar?
No but I expect it would work very well
That would sound so cool!
What is the tunning of guitar EBGDDD????
Yes that's right
Jack, I have what is a major question for me. If you are playing in a D scale with a Tivra Ma ( #4), if you were playing this on a Sitar, what would the sympathetic strings be tuned to? Chuck
You would adjust the Ma string to tivra and the others would remain shuddha (natural). The standard layout for the sympathetic strings is S N S R G M P D N S R. Some sitars have another string that would go to high Ga. Does that help?
Thanks Jack, it absolutely does. To reiterate: tune to the key, tivra the Ma. It makes perfect sense.
