They are more for show on this car, I didn’t plan on being able to go fast enough to really need them. But I also wanted to make sure my lip didn’t tear off because a lot people said there’s did without any rods.
I bought a 2013 Optima about a year ago and I’m starting to get serious with the mods this summer. I got a CP-E exhaust for mine and this is next up on the list! Your videos are so helpful I’m hella glad I found your channel
Provides extra support, I noticed after driving at high speeds it would start to bend down so those help keep it pulled up while wind is pushing it down.
I just picked up a kit for my 2012 mini cooper countryman wish me luck on instal never done anything like this Dose this kit just attach to the bottom of the existing bumper or dose dose something need to come off to install the kit
hi bro have a question. I ordered thr same splitter as u from wish but i bolt it withut rods. But when i was going 160 km/h the splitter just crash on pieces and i left it behind on the road. SO is these because i didnt put rods on it?
Hi bud i got 2009 vrx i order same lip u have. But in my car on sides there is already attached parts like lip thats why middle part of the one I ordered cant stick to the top in middle what u recon for that thanks
Dang sorry to hear that, you may have to try attaching the screws in different places where they can really bite into the bottom of the bumper. I had to change the positioning of a few of mine because they weren’t biting in properly but now they are all holding strong. If that doesn’t work you may want to try some really strong double sided adhesive like Gorilla or 3M as well as the screws.
I'm sure you have stated it already but what screws are those I know they are clearly self tapping but what holds with that material so well. I thought most self tapping were Sheet metal just wanted to make sure I get right ones
They are called Canards, yes they do help with airflow when put on professionally or if they are a part of the body kit. I just put these on for cosmetics, I actually put them on upside down by mistake too.
Nice, I’m going to be doing some side skirts soon too. Same on the rear diffuser I’m looking for something that sticks out more, may just have to fabricate something!
Looks sick brother this video was a great help was wondering how the rods went on I’ve seen cars with these rods and I must say it gives the front a great look maybe I should install some on my 8th gen civic 😂
I just drilled some small holes into the splitter, and then put the rods thru them and screwed the nut on from the underside. The top of the rods I have just attached to the grill, not the best for actual stability but it held up well for the speeds i went.
would it still hold strong enough without the rods? i have ordered this 3 part kit for myself but my typeR does not have any part wide enough for the rods to screw into? thanks!
I don’t recommend using this splitter without the suspension rods. They are definitely going to help keep it from getting sucked back down under your car from wind when your driving fast. People on Amazon even left reviews saying theirs flew off on the highway without the rods. I mean you can try it, but I don’t recommend it.
I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Bryce Sergio Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I upgraded my old one that broke to this exact one and it cracked in about 3 different spots woth a huge chunk missing already after about 2 months of owning it. Not the best quality but what do u expect from ebay plus it came cracked and I never got my money back or a replacement one😐
im so confused on how the screws at the bottom are staying in place and not falling out. i thought these splitters required some type of 3m or bonding glue. i probably sound dumb rn
They are just holding in very tight to the bottom of the bumper, the suspension rods also help hold it up too but it’s mainly just the screws being in good.
They help hold the front piece of the splitter up when I’m driving. Otherwise the wind will bend it down and rip it off the car. Yes, for this kit I would say they are necessary. Some people were having them fly off at 70mph on the highway without the rods so I highly suggest them!
KDM_Curt thanks! I looked at the link in the description for the front lip and they all sold out, could i just get any universal front lip n it should work?
Yeah a lot of those universal splitters are the same stuff just sold by different companies. Just look for one with pretty good reviews and see if anybody has pics of it installed on their car.
Yup I sure do! I’ll be doing an oil catch can soon and the BOV. It might take me a little bit to do the CAI since they are a little more on the expensive side.
Wouldn’t it be easier to 3m the lip on and then screw it in to prevent it going under the car ? Been wanting to buy one but didn’t want to risk. Rn I’m using a cheap rubber lip screwed in with the 3m it came with
Yeah you can do that but that’s just more work for you in the long run. The screws are strong enough to hold it up in the wind themselves, but the 3M could help you hood it up while you’re screwing it all in.
Yes there are more mods on the way, not sure about a wide body yet though although I have thought about it before. Currently I’m waiting on a new spoiler to get here. Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss it in case you aren’t already!
I buy a optima 16, i follow you, my car is black too, i want install a rear diffuser of sx, the duck spoiler, an intake, a cut out muffler, 19 rins, what do you think bro? Your proyect car ( your optima) is beautiful😎💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥
I originally had them in a little more but I didn’t quite like the look. I wanted them to seem more flared out. Never had any issues with them being out that far when I had the car though.
Actually it does, when I put pressure down on the front on the splitter (like when wind would pull it down) the rods pull it back up. Believe me if they didn’t actually work this thing would have flown off the under side of my car on the highway.
I just got this on the mail currently loving the whole new look!
Sick! I’m glad you enjoy it!!
Thank you for making this video for all of us to see and watch you. Great job, And nice car man!
Thanks, I really appreciate the support man!
Looks awesome the way you adjusted the wings on the sides. I need a new splitter on my charger, might have to see how this will look on it.
It’s pretty decent for a universal one.
Im looking for one on charger too, did you get one? Was it universal?
Any indication of where you are suppose to drill it on
Splitter rods are designed to be bolted on the chassis. Enough downforce and it’ll rip the grill out lol but I guess if you won’t be driving that fast
They are more for show on this car, I didn’t plan on being able to go fast enough to really need them. But I also wanted to make sure my lip didn’t tear off because a lot people said there’s did without any rods.
It’s an optima
Wow amazing thanks I did same like that, coz I was confused how to fix the red two sticks 😅 but well done I watch your videos thnks again

That’s awesome! Thanks for checking out the channel. What other mods are you thinking of doing?
KDM_Curt well I got the exhaust off of k5optima store, I got new rims, but I’m also thinking of getting a k&n cold air intake!
Question, is the splitter adjustable. I wanted to see if the outside wings can come in closer to the body
Yup they are, you can adjust to be wider or narrower whatever fits your car/style best.
Yes you can screw them however much you want them sticking out
What’s the suspension for if you have the splitter screwed in? Does it ad flex or or just looks?
Provides extra support, I noticed after driving at high speeds it would start to bend down so those help keep it pulled up while wind is pushing it down.

Broooooo your voice!! Can put a baby to sleep 🔥🔥🔥👌🏽🤙🏽
Well thank you 😊
I would've put the side wings all the way to where the bumper ends, but that's my preference. Still looks nice and agressive though. Nice job 👍
hi bro have a question. I ordered thr same splitter as u from wish but i bolt it withut rods. But when i was going 160 km/h the splitter just crash on pieces and i left it behind on the road. SO is these because i didnt put rods on it?
Yeah the rods are necessary when going high speeds. Otherwise the wind bends the splitter down too far and breaks it off the car.
Did you use the bolts that came with it or did you have to purchase your own
May I ask, what are those red circle speakers looking things in your grill?
Those are very loud horns.
@@KDMCurt Ohh, I see, I thought they were auxillary fans. Thank you
Hi bud i got 2009 vrx i order same lip u have. But in my car on sides there is already attached parts like lip thats why middle part of the one I ordered cant stick to the top in middle what u recon for that thanks
what drill did you use
Just a standard Black and Decker 20v cordless drill. Doesn’t have to have a lot of power.
@@KDMCurt thanks 🙌🏽
Where did you purchase the lip strut rods?
Amazon, there should be a link in the description of this video for them.
What size are the splitter rods 8”, 5”, or 11”? Thanks
It’s been awhile so I’m not 100% sure but I think these were the 8in option.
Got you! Thanks
i have a 2017 sonata which is a mid sized sedan as well. do you think it’ll fit onto it ?
Yes it should fit, these parts are universal so you can line them up how you like and attach them.
Did you ever test this out at high speed? Like 140mph+
129 was the fastest I got this car up to and it held well with the rods.
I just installed mine a couple days ago and the screws are already falling out of the bottom of the car. Do you have a solution?
Dang sorry to hear that, you may have to try attaching the screws in different places where they can really bite into the bottom of the bumper. I had to change the positioning of a few of mine because they weren’t biting in properly but now they are all holding strong. If that doesn’t work you may want to try some really strong double sided adhesive like Gorilla or 3M as well as the screws.
I installed the same exact one on my 2014 optima. Use nuts/bolts instead with washers
same, mine already fell off
@@madisongannaway8850 mine still intact, no issues at all been on the car for about 5 months now
I'm sure you have stated it already but what screws are those I know they are clearly self tapping but what holds with that material so well. I thought most self tapping were Sheet metal just wanted to make sure I get right ones
As far as I know they are just regular old self tapping screws. They seem to bite into the plastic on the bottom of the bumper easy enough.
What are those fans called on top of the bumper and do they add airflow or are they there for show?
They are called Canards, yes they do help with airflow when put on professionally or if they are a part of the body kit. I just put these on for cosmetics, I actually put them on upside down by mistake too.
What are those two red center caps in the middle of your radiator called?
Those are loud aftermarket horns
I just bought something like that with EZ lip for the side skirts. Still looking for a good rear diffuser
Nice, I’m going to be doing some side skirts soon too. Same on the rear diffuser I’m looking for something that sticks out more, may just have to fabricate something!
Ive been looking for a rear diffuser since yesterday but no luck. You are right might as well fabricate your own.
There's good ones on Amazon
Did you have to pre drill holes for the splitter
Simple and clean
@@JoseyAddo-gd9ux thanks!
How’d it hold up ??
Would this fit a Toyota Corolla Le 2017? Anyone know or any other front lip suggestion ?
Most likely as this is a universal kit. You shape it how you want with how far in/out the wings are. I bet you could make it work.
Would this work for 2008 dodge avengers sine it's universal?
sorry late comment but how many inches for the suspension rods or strut rods
The ones I used are about 8in long. There is a link in the description for them and there’s different colors to choose from too.
@@KDMCurt thank you because i was looking for a new splitter and rods, i appreciate it. keep it up🙌🏼
Will this fit on a 2021 Hyundai i10? Does anyone know?
I would bet so, it’s universal so you can make it fit pretty much whatever you want.
Will this fit a 2012 camry base model?

Did you use the rubber blocks for the center piece?
No I didn’t end up using those.
what are they for i never could figure it out
This is sick! But... INTAKE! INTAKE! INTAKE!
Haha soooooon...
hey man... at the end of day, the rubber/carbon look front lip wasn't that good??
Can i have your point of view??
Thanx man.
It was a good lip but I prefer this style more, it gives the car a more aggressive look to me.
@@KDMCurt , thanx man. 💯👍
, Dumb Question But What Are Those Red Things On The Front Of Your Car any The Radiator?
Not dumb at all, they are aftermarket horns. Hella horns to be exact, they are a bit louder than stock horns and look way better.
I upgraded my old one that broke to this exact one and it cracked in about 3 different spots woth a huge chunk missing already after about 2 months of owning it. Not the best quality but what do u expect from ebay plus it came cracked and I never got my money back or a replacement one😐
Dang that sorry to hear that, so far mine has held up good and I’m grateful.
Looks good bro & this helped me with mine, thank you 🔥👏🏽
No problem 👍
Is it matte or is it gloss bc I don’t wanna mix and match parts
This specific one is a glossy black. On Amazon they have multiple options. Black, glossy black and even sometimes “carbon fiber”.
Bro where did you get those lights are they halo rings ?
Are you talking about the red circular things in my grill area?
im so confused on how the screws at the bottom are staying in place and not falling out. i thought these splitters required some type of 3m or bonding glue. i probably sound dumb rn

This optima is 2020? Or 2016?
This is a 2019 Optima.
Okkk
Nice job man super fast and professional
Hey men I’m struggling to install mine. Did you drill the whole underneath already? Or did the screws just make the whole themselves?
Make sure you are using “self-tapping” screws, they make it easier to start the screw with no pre-drilled holes.
@@KDMCurt thank you
Do you just go ahead and drill it in into the bumper
Whats the point of the rods? Do you have to install them

Is it universal? I have a 2013 honda accord
Yes it is universal, you can use it with basically any car.

Perfect! Keep up these vids I’m loving them
Will do, thanks so much for watching!!
That looks amazing!
Can I 3M tape it? Honestly not trying to drill holes in my car. It’s too new 😤
I mean you could try, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The high wind speed on the front of your car when driving is going to rip that tape right off.
Thanks for this video, bruh!!

Wouldn’t it be easier to 3m the lip on and then screw it in to prevent it going under the car ? Been wanting to buy one but didn’t want to risk. Rn I’m using a cheap rubber lip screwed in with the 3m it came with
