Have this shoe, at 170g it’s incredibly packable, an all terrain travel shoe. Not designed for distance or super technical terrain, not marketed by Arcteryx for any of those things either they have other shoes for those purposes. Their outsole designs are some of the best I’ve used off road, sticky, no clumping with lugs from 3.5-5mm. Agree on the distance for sure, wouldn’t wear this past 15km your knees will hate you.
    Good review.🏃‍♂️👍😎🤘

Yep, it has a very clear purpose and the packability factor is a nice feature.cheers for watching.

Coming from Merrell Trail Gloves (which have sadly been getting heavier and bulkier), this sounds perfect to me! Best of both worlds, I hope... (I did up to marathons and backpacking days of similar length in the minimal Merrells. Not comfortable for long distances is relative I suppose, as long as there isn't some critical flaw.)

Thanks for the review. I've been looking at the Norvan LD which is said to be their long distance shoe. Will you be reviewing this too?

I have the Norvan LD 2, wear it all the time worth it. The build quality and materials of Arcteryx are amazing .

@@davidcallan7844 Thanks for the reply David. Really like the look of the shoe with its simple colour-ways. Good to know the build quality is great too! What do you use it for?

It’s a fantastic commuter, very comfortable, has 4mm Vibram Litebase MegaGrip outsole. Takes on mud, gravel, light rocky conditions and sand. Still a light shoe with very good protection. If you want heavy duty the Norvan VT 2 has a much heavier outsole, a rock plate and super thick overlays.
This is one of my town to trail shoes, comfortable to wear all day.
I’d say close comparisons are the Nike Wildhorse 5 and the Saucony Peregine 10.

I wish they had a 4 mm drop version. This video says its 7 mm, the websites selling them that I am looking at says its 9 mm.

FYI the new-ish runrepeat review slices them up and measures exactly, and the drop is actually much less than 7. In their pair at least

@@over1498 Thanks, I've started using altra lone peaks with zero drop. The grip on the outsole is not as good as arc'teryx, but hopefully they will last longer.

There's no way Kieran's getting his foot in that.

These shoes seem very similar to Salomon.

Both companies are owned by Amer sports. If you look at the shoe boxes both brands use the same label style. So they are probably manufactured in the same factory.
