Great stuff. Many years ago as a kid, I loved hanging around our local boat-ramp. More fun than a circus, cars stuck in the sand and the tide coming in over them, masts hitting the power lines, boats not hooked on and falling off on the road, smaller cars burning out the clutch trying to pull a 2 ton boat up the ramp. I saw it all. The very capable 4wd vehicles these days have spoilt the fun!!
Terry mate thanks heaps for the shout out at the end! That caught me by surprise haha cheers! I'm doing chinchilla, miles and occasional taroom run in a 12 pallet at the moment so I'll keep an eye out for you if you're out west. Hopefully move up into a prime mover soon
That third clip that you said looks like it was taken in the 60s or 70s is from the inbuilt cameras on a tesla. They all have that sepia tone 70s look to them and I have no idea why.
Top 5 things in the hard shoulder - lumps of 2 by 4, truck - disc brake covers, shackle pins & U brackets & tradies tray contents (tools, nails/screws, etc) 😄👍
The 1970's style vid is from a Tesla... even on the Wham Baam channel they show vids taken from Teslas where the Tesla cams have more angles... but the aftermarket forward facing/rear facing cameras have better colour and definition....
That port Pirie incident at the KFC was hilarious. I saw that one a couple of months back. At the same time it was stupid and reckless. I'd hate to be the manager of that KFC in that situation, having to deal with the damage that was done to that awning was almost horrendous.
The KFC would have security cameras on the drive-through. Even though the driver thinks they did a successful runner after being tracked via their rego I guarantee they got a ‘please pay up for the damage you caused’ from KFC itself or their building insurance provider.
That empty car trailer swinging on it's chains would swing less if the chains were crossed underneath the drawbar and attatched seperately on the opposite side of the towbar. They act as a cradle for the drawbar and allow less swing. While parked you can compare how much better it is than not crossing the chains by unhitching and trying to swing the drawbar by hand.
Thanks bud cool share. My dad and I were talking about them the other day and how bad they’re driving. It’s getting that bad I feel they’ll make people have to get a license to tow soon: the other day up near Townsville pads they pull in all vans and hit them all most were overweight and a lot were off their guts on prescription medicine. Sad world hey. I’m not getting notifications for your uploads mate sorry . Can you please check in u tube studio & see if I’m still subbed please?. I had to subscribe again just now. Stay safe mate , keep it upright!.
If a trailer comes off and hangs by chains, brake medium, chains pull up gets under control. Towed a friends trailer, he put tow ball on, apparently his FT torque was lacking.
The driver must be pretty strung out to drive through KFC with a load that high. It's like when cars drive through the underground carpark and the expensive bike gets smashed off the roof rack. Their head must be somewhere else completely.
Let me give you an insight. I had just purchased a Model 3 Tesla and a fancy bike to go on top of it. I went for my first ride and was completely knackered so I stopped off at a city Woolies to grab a drink. Being the first time I had the bike on the roof I just completely forgot. Drove through the height thing, snapped my fancy bike seat with the loudest snap you've ever heard and picked-up the car enough to leave dents in the steel frame.
I see so many idiots in utes leaving bunnies with the cheap and nasty straps tying things down, things that look like they will move at first corner. I go the 1-2.5 ton straps for just about everything and a rated cargo net. I'd hate to lose a load
A policeman pulls up a car for having one stop light out, the driver gets out of the cars and say's. Oh no no no, this is terrible, the police officer say's it's only a stop light mate. The drivers say's; where's my trailer?

Another falasies of the SUV safer narrative. SUV's are not only heavier but also taller. Having a poor centre of gravity and inferior dynamic handling means a smaller margin of safety. For a car, correcting and avoiding this incident would have been much higher.

I must say, that tradie's trailer that took off had its contents and weight nicely balanced!
The trailer was at home waiting for him when he arrived half hour later......

The trailer was possesed by the spirit of an apprentice. He took that exit to go get coffee’s and then meet the boss at the next job.

Good video. Greetings from port Pirie
time to introduce special classification on license for caravan drivers.
If you are ever trying to overtake and can't make it past, hit the hooks. Cars generally stop heaps faster than they can accelerate.
You'd need to have a heart of stone to watch a vid of a caravan coming to grief without laughing your socks off.
