- "Marche Henri IV" / "Vive Henri IV" was a popular French song which has been heard since 1581. It was adopted as the Royal Anthem of France in 1590. It was banned in 1792 as a result of the French Revolution, but it was later readopted during the Restauration. It was, then, relinquished for the final time in 1830 with the birth of the "July Monarchy".

IT NEVER HAD OFFICIAL LYRICS
as a major fact, there are many proposed ones, I only put the original 16th century ones.

ORIGINAL LYRICS IN FRENCH:
Vive Henri quatre
Vive ce Roi vaillant
Ce diable à quatre
A le triple talent:
De boire et de battre,
Et d'être un vert galant.
De boire et de battre,
Et d'être un vert galant.
Au diable guerres,
Rancunes et partis !
Comme nos pères
Chantons en vrais amis,
Au choc des verres,
Les roses et les lys.
Au choc des verres,
Les roses et les lys.
Chantons l'antienne
Qu'on chantera dans mille ans ;
Que Dieu maintienne
En paix ses descendants
Jusqu'à ce qu'on prenne,
La Lune avec les dents.
Jusqu'à ce qu'on prenne,
La Lune avec les dents.
Vive la France!
Vive le roi Henri!
Qu'à Reims on danse
En disant comme Paris:
Vive la France!
Vive le roi Henri!
Vive la France!
Vive le roi Henri!

LYRICS TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH:
Long live Henry IV
Long live this valiant king
This fourfold devil
Of three talents:
Of drinking, fighting
And womanising.
Of drinking, fighting
And womanising.
To hell with wars,
Grudges and partisanship!
Like our fathers
Let us sing as true friends,
Clink the glasses,
The roses and the lilies.
Clink the glasses,
The roses and the lilies.
Let us sing the refrain
That we will sing in a thousand years:
May God maintain
His descendants in peace
Until we take the moon
With our teeth.
Until we take the moon
With our teeth.
Long live France!
Long live king Henry!
To Reims we dance
Singing as they do in Paris:
Long live France!
Long live king Henry!
Long live France!
Long live king Henry!

May all kneel down at the king's feet and high shall Joan's pennon fly over the crowds. Vive le Roi!

France surely did errors during its monarchist period but surely had a hell good history
Good Job brün keep going with your Amazing Channel!!!
Always better than puppet Macron and centralised government in Paris. Dumbass criminals of the revolution. Only Parisians wanted it. No one cared of the capitalist's greed. The kingdom is the best of France.
thankssss
We French keep overthrowing our Monarchy multiple times for two simple reasons. Freedom and Rights
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 no it's just greed
During its thousand years of monarchy it did errors? Sure.
Personally I think this is the best video you've uploaded so far. Great editing+ glorious anthem. Good. It's sad your channel is still so small. You deserve more subscribers and views. I know there are 100000 anthems channels, but everyone just put a static image and music. I think you are one of the few that make so elaborate videos on top of the anthems. Maybe Duke of Canada is the only one I think does something similar to you.
THANK YOUUUU
Epic
Thank you 💛
Very good
Thank you 🙏🏻💛 as always
This is definitely glorious
oh did i see an frankish flag at the start?! But good Brün!
Yep It is
thats Epic @@EhiEhiBuoi.ita.
No, actually it's the Oriflamme: the banner of the Capetians. It was first used in 1124 by Louis VI of France and was last flown in 1415 at the Battle of Agincourt, but a version of it remained in the Abbey of St. Denis until the 18th century and it's the one on which this drawing is based on.
@@EhiEhiBuoi.ita. No it was first used in 1124, it's the Oriflamme. The battle standard of the Capetians, not the Franks.
i see but still cool thanks Brün!@@BrunhildAnthems

Merci bien
That's the Russian hymn when czars ruled.
No it wasn't. The anthem of imperial Russia firstly was Моли́тва ру́сских which was the melody of God Save the King with Russian lyrics and then it was changed to Бо́же, Царя́ храни́!, which has its own melody and isn't related with this national anthem.
You mean the Tchaïkovski
