Hey guys! Time for some insanely epic metal jams from Lufia 2! This one was a request from Josh B. and I couldn't have been more stoked when I found out I was about to hit this track up.
The original is so metal-friendly that I really didn't have to reach too far to come up with some riffs for it. I decided to come up with my own rhythm riff following the original's chord progression and let that be a continuing motif of my arrangement. But for the pre-chorus and chorus, I decided to let it stay more true to the original rhythmically.
I also wanted to stay true to the original theme's drums because the groove is so unique and cool. It's like if a seasoned jazz drummer decided to play melodic death metal.
Finally, I couldn't resist doing a solo over the motif riff because the chord progression is so melodic and fun. It allows so much feeling in any melody you throw at it.
Overall i'm super happy with how this turned out. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! Thanks for the awesome request Josh!
The original boss battle theme theme from the game "Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals" was composed by Yasunori Shiono.

This cover is what finally got me to start playing Lufia 2, and I have to say I'm enjoying it :)
Easily one of the most overlooked and underrated jrpgs.
Every aspect of Lufia2 was underrated. The music track is beautiful from beginning to end, the characters are timeless, and the story is excellent. The battle system, weapons, and capsule monsters are just the tops for rpgs. A true classic gem I have played so many times and I love knowing others enjoyed it like i have.
The end of the game is just amazing. Crazy stupidly good.

Oh my god. The way you open with nothing but the rhythm guitar riff is something I can't even articulate. Your revised take on it somehow brings even more feelings of tension and uncertainty to what I already consider the best example of the two in a boss battle theme. The guitar was always my favorite part of this song. I know everyone here has said it already, but what a criminally underrated game.
Also Camu being featured here feels appropriate since to me, in my childhood, he was the first boss truly deserving of this theme.
Intro to this is still one of my favorite bits of covered music ever.
This has been my favourite game since childhood. I'd watch my stepmother play it until she finally let me try it and I've played it for the past twenty years. You've combined the nostalia of it with my love of metal and done it beautifully. Seriously, this is fucking fantastic dude. You killed it. 🤘

Lufia 2 and Mystic Quest had some amazing music that still holds up to this day.

Oh man, this game. I remember those crazy times where I went in butt-naked into the Ancient Cave with all sorts of self-thought challenges. The story itself was very neat too, but only until that part of my playtime into the game was when I realized how in-depth its mechanics truly were, which went into hundreds of hours.
Fantastic take on this one bro, Lufia 2 comes up all the time in requests and it sounded so groovey.
I know this is uploaded long ago but i never knew there was a metal cover to this. I listen to this and the gades fight theme. Its been so long since i played this and was my 1st rpg game that got me into that genre. Thank you man. I really like this

Back in the 90's i played lufia more than a lot. Listening to lufia songs brings back this good days and the metall version of this song is awesome.
I found this video. I started listening to this video. I didn't make it one minute in before I had to click the subscribe button. This is probably favorite rendition of the theme that isn't on the official soundtracks. Thank you for doing this!

I have always liked your rendition on most of the songs. Like, you kept some of the important details but you also added your own touch into it. I don't know, I can't really put it into words but, the only thing I can say is your renditions are very pleasant to the ear

Excellent request be Josh B.! Fantastic cover, toxic, this tune sounds like it was made for you. As others have mentioned, from Lufia 2 I think the Sinistral boss theme is another you should consider for the future. I also really like the credits theme.
