    Dearest Scott,
    I’m
Someone who has softer with IBS-D for the last six years. Like you, I have pooped my pants more times that I can count. Im terrified to leave my house. Like you, I did not get medical help. The GI I was seeing, did not find anything wrong structurally and treated me as I was crazy. Every night I go online looking for ways to cure my self, but there is not a medicine cured yet. I don’t understand how such a devastating way of leaving has not have a solution. You gave me so much hopes. Thank you so much!

I hope things are getting better for you. If not, keep reading. Many foods can cause IBS but also too many antibiotics. The problem is it becomes a cycle. Fasting and then eating a very specific diet can help. Look up Specific Carbohydrate Diet. At the very least, stop eating gluten and soy and peanuts and dairy for a few weeks and see if that helps.

I was in the loo like you 15 times a day. The gas was insaine. I turned that around when I introduced Aloe Vera, this improved further still when I moved to eating only organic meat them finally the last piece of the puzzle along with exercise was eating fruit before meals and the introduction of a good Probiotic. I might add that the milk I drink is lactose free. I am like a prisoner who has been freed. Thank you for your talk.

I am just getting over strep throat, sinusitis and the flu. I resisted taking antibiotics for my strep throat and sinusitis for as long as I could. I ran fever for 72 hours straight until I decided that what my doctor recommended was best and started an antibiotic. What I did end up doing is taking kefir, live cultured yogurt, and a couple of bites of kimchi and sauerkraut several times a day and have continued that practice. I hope that this will restore my micro biome.

human beings are OMNIvores meaning they CAN eat everything (because they adapted wherever they lived to the food that was available), and there was a time when eskimos could be healthy when they ate healthy fish … nowadays is no longer the case and they eat a lot of imported junk processed food ;/ and if they do eat fish, it will be full of heavy metals… But eating ANY animal product today is ruining your microbiome because of all the antibiotics they use in those factory farms to make them grow faster and to prevent diseases … unless you have enough money to only buy organic grass fed meat and even then, I’m sure they supplement them with antibiotics for profit …

Informative. I feel that adding links supporting your claims would make it easier for those who like to make choices based off research without having to locate the studies. I think it is important to support your claims in today's age with so many unqualified people making claims that are not substantiated by science. The essential amino acids you speak of that are found in meat are essential for important bodily functions. But, you are correct, as I located clinical studies supporting your claims regarding meat vs. plant protein. These amino acids are found in much lower amounts in plant based foods which mean much less inflammation. Interesting how a plant based diet was our initial diet designated by our Creator.

The subject of animal protein, cysteine and methionine, causing the gut lining to break down appears to be strongly refuted by others, which makes this somewhat confusing. I would expect that it is true in some instances, but not true in others. There are a myriad of simultaneous conditions that can exist in the gut that might predispose the gut lining to break down once too much sulfur is produced, but the reason for this could be manifold. It could be a result of an already underpopulated microbiome, or it could just as easily be due to other conditions that exist. It's not so easy to say for certain about cysteine and methionine, especially as they are two primary acids found in mother's milk.

This is too simplistic a conclusion for a complex body system. The human body needs methionine or you can develop other health issues - liver problems, hair loss, brittle nails, etc. Methionine-rich veg include: Brazil nuts (which contain the same amount as lamb and bacon, and more than tuna or chicken), spinach, hemp seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, etc.
See Axona, trioctanoin for what happened when researchers studied plain old fractionated coconut oil (MCTs) on people with Mild Cognitive Impairment or Alzheimer's. They tried to patent and sell oil as a "medical food" for people with neurodegenerative diseases. If marketing coconut/palm oil as pricey "medical food" is where the intersection of research and tech gets us, I'll pass.
