Excellent context!! I really appreciate the transparency! I feel like a lot of people get a romanticized idea from social media and content creators when the reality is much different.
thanks for watching! It is really easy to romanticize it, we are totally guilty of this. Hoping with more videos like this we can share more of the behind the scenes stuff :)
Thank you so much for sharing this! You revealed a lot of great information on how to stealth camp responsibly and respectfully. I had a decent idea on camping on BLM land or in small towns but didn’t really grasp what we were going to do in popular cities. Thanks for sharing!
Love the example you're setting here and great tips! I'm currently building a van in the same area as you guys and a lot of these same like "rules" pop through my mind when I drive around and scope places that would be good to park my van.
Dark spot vs. illuminated? (Some folks might think illuminated is more safe for them). Do you ever overnight at trail head parking area (where permitted)? What do you do if you're parked in a "quiet" location and someone is lurking by your van, or maybe trying to open your locked door(s)? Does your dog bark when he/she senses something, someone outside, and if so, how do you handle your dog should he/she bark? Also: You are SOOOOO RIGHT about not using iOverlander to find parking spots (or list where you've been)...because if you ARE stealth, you're private, unobtrusive, SILENT and don't "boast" about it! Finally, many ski towns are really VERY restricted about overnight parking, especially vans, class A/B/C vehicles. So, when you're in ski/snowboard country, what's some advice you can offer? (Sorry for the multiple questions, but you folks are REALLY so full of great ideas, and we really do appreciate you sharing your ideas, because they are healthy, good, safe and are clearly the result of respectful, intelligent thinking/reasoning and behavior on your part! Kudos and thanks to you both!
We pull a small camper and look forward to moving in. The challenge is one, it’s an 11’ teardrop trailer so we are towing but two, it’s flamingo pink! Hahahaha
This is SO amazing! so real and so therefor so realistic - the last part is so real, videos of people "waking up" with coffee and an ocean view is so staged and people dont realize that. You get up at 6, drive to that spot, then make your coffee and have that view
Those are all great tips! Especially the arrive late, leave early and don't get out of the van.

Great advice about `stealth parking`, Thank you !!!!
I thank you for the info, it is a good idea to let the van life community to know, I own my home and I do spot van lifers occasionally in my street.

I do not completely understand the knock is it when someone knocks and tries to break in?
Local police
@@EvidenceClass Not necessarily police; more likely to be local residents saying _"Who are you, and what's your business here?!"_
@@Ron-AyresResidents are less likely to randomly knock on your door versus calling the police and they knock.
Just seems like a high anxiety way to live
