love this.. no stupid music, no stupid announcer narrating anything.. just the beautiful sound of that radial engine and those props pulling it through the air.. glorious!
Fantastic video! I was in the photo pit helping out, so not too far away from where you were. The sound of the Corsair was simply amazing. Plus Stan really played for the pit and did some amazing close passes on Friday and Sunday when I was in there!
Me either. Funny how before it was "Whistling Death" it was known as the "Ensign Eliminator" by the Navy because it took the lives of so many of their own trying to deck land this sucker.
This is one of my favorite warbird fighters! Plus, I saw this very aircraft at the '09 Offutt Air Show, and it was the first time that I got to see a "Dash-1" Corsair in person. Also, I have 12 books on, or about the men who flew this fighter in combat.

Port Columbus during the Korean war had some reserve's train there to land they had to fly over a main road what a sight 40 feet high canopy open pilot's head far to the right with it's long nose it's the only war to line up with the runway and judge the height sometimes the pilot would give us kid's a wave back as we sat on our bike's and waived to him.
@Epicaviation47 I listened to it about 5 times...there wasn't. I've heard the whistle in person twice....the closest in this video is that tweeting bird.

That engine is smoking kinda hard.
Is not from.the engine
@@Epicaviation47 those are not condensation contrails, that is a smoking engine
@@ficklefingeroffatethey do that to make planes easier to track at air shows. It’s an additive.
@@jimbot.4539 thanks, did not know that.

1:28. And 1:59 are two sections of video where you can hear the deep whistle sound.😎
I imagine any Zero pilot in WWII that heard that terrifying whistling death sound on his rear knew he was going to have a very short and very bad day.
