There's no comparison. Video might be Ok. But the Audio compression on OTT kills the experience!
Blu Ray cd & 4k discs are hardly available post Covid phase for new hindi films in india as majority have shifted to OTT. As per Amazon india , samrat Prithviraj was last officially listed new original Hindi film.

There is also a volume gain difference in OTT vs original disc if audio quality is considered.Disc has higher gain levels and is always better.
Hi Tanmay, any suggestions on how to play the demo files you have provided on a firestick 4k max? I have it stored on a synology nas drive attached to the same network. I also have a ps5, apple tv and the webos of LG if needed.

As far as video quality is concerned, you will need a bigger, better screen to notice the difference. But yes there is a big difference in video quality like details, sharpness, colors etc.
The big difference is in audio quality. Basically Dolby atmos is played in streaming as well as bluray but the difference is in the format
In Streaming- Dolby atmos is played as doby digital plus which is compressed.(Max bitrate-640kbps or 768kbps)
In bluray- Dolby atmos is played as dolby TrueHD uncompressed. ( Bitrate goes as far as 8mbps- which is a huge difference)
Plus no streaming supports DTS audio.
The difference is highly noticeable only when you have good 5.1 surround system and good calibration.
Soundbars doesn't do the job well in this.
Avg size of a movie in streaming -15-20gb while in 4k bluray it is around 70-90gb Thats quality. But hey it costs more.
Either u need to spend on bluray player and 4k discs or other media players like Nvidia shield,Zidoo, dune and get large storage Hard disks to play bluray movies.
Note: Media players like vlc in-built in TV will not passthrough dolby atmos TrueHd it will compress.

Also can you please help me understand, when I plug a EXT HDD to Nvidia shield, does the NVIDIA device process the sound for me and leave only the Amplification part to be done by the AVR. I am a bit confused. I must confess that there is a huge difference in the way NVIDIA render the sound compared to when I use the laptop to play a movie.
Video and audio processing happens in the Nvidia. AVR takes care of further matching it with its audio format selection!

Plex plans couldn't work out due to format limitations of the platform!
Netflix gives a download option in mobile devices at highest quality to watch off line but not OTT media streaming devices.. How to connect mobile to dvr ?? Or do you know any OTT steaming devices with download option and play later off line.
Downloaded streaming is still of low quality and except for MHL (to TV or Projector) there is no way to connect mobile to AVR.

Depends on room acoustics. But best is to use the spikes or studs provided and put the sub on the rubber bass sheet!
Always on Bluray, but getting the discs is a pain now. Anyways which 4k Blu-ray player do you recommend? I have a 1080p Panasonic which is serving me well with my collection, but now the need for 4k is imminent.

Amazon firestick is OTT streaming so it will not be the best when compared to Blurays.

I bought zidoo z10 pro in 2021 and through online. Seller told me he can help me to setup the player. Which is not happened unfortunately. I have setup mu self and is fine. Still now I can change settings for improvement. Video from you ismudt for all of us.

Purchasing iTunes movies will still not be as lossless as blurays. You will have to find out stores in US and other markets, and seek help from people travelling around you! The only faster and reliable source 😁

One needs to have some brains to avoid high investment to watch Blu-ray movies , but that still need a small portion to invest like high end 4k media player with dolby vision and dolby atmos and rest depend upon your skills how to use internet to enjoy Blu-ray movies with top notch quality
Your topic needs a hell of investment first with high quality latest Blu-ray player which currently cost around 50k ( 10 years life ) , old Blu-ray wont give you such sound out put
And above all price of individual movie which ranges from 1500 onwards and most important availability of new movies which arrives very late .
