I would argue even DVD's look better than streaming, or at the very least come pretty close. At least when played through a modern player or home console or TV with upscale technology. I've watched DVD's on my Xbox One that look as good as a 720p UA-cam video and considering how cheap they are I often just go with DVD. If I can get Blu Ray cheaper or the same price as DVD I obviously go for that but otherwise I'm just fine with my DVD's.
dvds look beeter than tubi and most 720p streaming content because they have good bitrates. but they don't look better than 1080p streaming. but there are a lot of times that 1080p blu rays do look better than 4k streaming because the bitrate is literally higher
As he explained, the amount of data you consume by physical media is far superior to streaming. The audio quality is terrible and renders my home theater equipment a waste of money.
I buy physical media because they look good on your shelf and what’s the point on switching to digital when you’re already most of the DVDs you always wanted like I have yes do I still use streaming absolutely but there’s some movies I can’t get on streaming which I have on DVD
@GarrettCrespo yeah they are your not wrong there but a 4k hdr digital movie still looks as good as a 4k blu-ray on a oled 4k tv you wont notice the differece. I got a 55 inch oled tv and watched alien on 4k digital and looked incredible. You just gotta have the right tv at the end of the day
@@Mike-t5r9q I notice you did NOT watch the same movie on disc to compare. Only watching the stream and then just claiming the disc can't be better is ignorant.
@@GamezGuru1 he’s comparing data size which is demonstrably superior. Compression makes a difference, you ever choose to watch 480p? Now to the average human eye, the experience of high quality may not be that distinguishable but that’s a subjective question and not the point of the vid
@@Mike-t5r9q Sorry. But with due respect you are wrong. You are missing out on quality if you think that. I have a 55" lg oled and also watch on 120" projector. Streaming can look good if the movie is gorgeous because of hdr (specially dolby vision) and oled blacks etc but it will never look better than the disc counterpart. Blu ray or 4k blu ray will always give you more details in everything (skin texture, more sharpness and moving action will look the best) i know cause i have compared (i have a few 4ks and blu rays to compare. Those discs will decay though. The obvious solution is buying physical, and then backing them up to a personal media server. Plex is the easiest but other services are available.
I feel like Blu Rays have a worse chance of decaying due to the flimsy plastic they use. I have old DVD's that I've taken good care of and they still work like a charm

Reasons why i still Blu-Rays. Also dumping them comes in Handy

I agree
Netflix frequently looks no better or worse than a newer DVD tbh
Even on their “HD” stuff

Just watching a blue ray movie again and yes you can definitely tell
Streaming Vs physical media? The latter every time!
For some, that’s fine. But I prefer to keep what I enjoy. No company can delete my Blu-ray collection
@GarrettCrespo when I commented, I didn't proof read & I've just read my own comment 🙃 I'm correcting
@ Gotcha! Either way, no shame in either option. Just personal preference. 😁
Interesting comparisons I do like physical media too
I am surprised by such low numbers

So…are Blu-ray’s better?
4k discs are a joke though the new format keeps skipping there more sensitive compared to regular blu-ray
But disc's in general are better than streaming. That's my point.

Oh hi
4k Blu-ray and 4k Tvs are Trash
1080p Blu-ray and 1080p Tv rules!!
Idk what your last eye exam results looked like, but I'd HIGHLY disagree! 1080p is great, but 4K on a proper 4K tv is amazing!
