Super cool but WAY too expensive
We hear you, the metal parts in low volumes really drive up the cost. We are hoping to release a lower cost model in the future!

@@BatmanfrfrYou can’t just lower the price and sell at a loss just to drive up sales, there needs to be demand first to buy the metalic parts in larger quantities, which won’t happen fast at least for a pretty novel product like this lol
@@FlynnTheRedhead ik lol, I'm just saying it's not exactly affordable for most people. That's all
JLaser has a $40 one that automatically reels back in with a button. I bought it on a whim and it's way more fun than I thought it would be. It's a little bulkier but you can shoot, reel, and shoot in like 10 seconds.
I've loved seeing the progress made on this over the years!

This is by far the best web shooter out there right now, however, other webshooters retract by themselves without hassle and having to do all those time consuming steps, could we see an improvement on that for the next one?
Sure! The reload process is something we are optimizing. The two that come to mind are the designs that have the thread wrapped around a constant force spring/badge reel that is triggered once all the thread is spooled out and the one click reload that the Jlaser ones have. The issue with the first is the rewinding of the thread onto the constant force spring badge reel takes really, really long, even though the retraction is instant. The Jlaser ones work great, but the mechanism is huge and does not fit in the same compact dimensions. We are continually improving though and we think we have a way to optimize for size and reload speed/ease :)

I love this design I want to build it myself but the kit on etsy is sold out.
there should be an older step by step video of him making the web shooter, and in the description he linked all the parts needed 😊
Hey thanks for commenting! If you send an email in we can send you the parts list, the issue is that a lot of the components were sourced in bulk from overseas manufacturers. The PCB reload electronics are also a custom manufactured assembly that isn't available anywhere. If we have spare parts lying around we might be able to send those over but we'd have to check our inventory.

what are the practical uses for a device like this?
It’s mostly intended as an inspirational timepiece. The thread shooting and retracting functionality can pull in very light magnetic objects.
