I'm Rod Saunders, founder of Jew and Greek. I’m a musician, web developer, and a student of philosophy and economics. I knew the heresy hunters was going to come after this man when he passed. Thanks for dealing with this Rod. This man's ministry had a powerful impact on my life. If I can accomplish 10 percent of what Jerry Savelle did in his life, I will be happy.

We had the privilege of seeing Dr. Jerry preach on the Friday before he passed. Just 3 days before. He was filled with faith, hope and love, overflowing with joy. I’d say his message of faith and whatever he believed produced amazing fruit! I’d say it worked indeed!

Thank you for making this video. I am like seriously getting fed up with Justin Peters judging, gossiping, slandering about everyone who thinks just a little bit different than he and his all so small entourage of nose-pickers. It needs to stop. I understand that sometimes something needs to be said but he is crossing the line. Literally anybody goes under the bus. Folks... Does this man really have nothing better to do than criticize and slander every single Christian on earth?? Who in his right mind has time for that and why is it he is getting away with this. He has zero respect!!!!!! People are trying and that's what I think about almost all his victims. How dare he say he or she is not a Christian!?? Justin Peters will be very lonely in heaven. Just the other day I was watching a 2 hour video of disgracing Marc Driscoll and like with all his victims he just made him look like a serial killer. I am done with Peters. He can go sit with the elderly widows and gossip with his fellow nose-pickers. People didn't make themselves. Nobody chose to be here. People are trying. He needs to mind his own business. Where or how does this guy even get the time for insulting fellow believers 24/7?? I don't have time to do this. Do you?? He must start early in the morning..... Give people some time and space. Thank you, thank you. Thank you so much for this video! I have had concerns about these people who have had teaches me things since I was a teenager because of some weirdness with Kenneth. But, whenever I listen to somebody like Justin or McArthur I feel so empty and so dead inside, I know that they cannot be right and when I see how people talk about how Kenneth was cutting his wrist and not understanding that he was displaying how covenant was cut between two people or two families back in the Old Testament, then I really know that these people are nothing but on a witch hunt. But I needed this extra counseling that I’ve just received from you in this video. Thanks be to Jesus and thanks be to you because, I’m on fire again in my faith for God!
Do you think for one minute that Kenneth Copeland can be defended on any grounds? When I was born again in 1991 I saw a video tape of Copeland with Real deny Howard Browne and knew from that minute he was a charlatan. Same with Du Plantis.

When I learned Justin Peters was a cessationist, that was enough for me to understand the position from which he speaks. That said it all for me.

@@angelawindom4711 If you are asking about what cessationism is, it means those who believe all the gifts of the Spirit, such as speaking in tongues, prophesy, healing, ended after the Apostles died, which is not taught anywhere in God's Word.
@@pamelaulery2772 Yes thats what they believe...but they believe God still does miracles in the world today..but they don't believe when all these preachers touch people and they are suddenly healed is real! If a miracle happens they don't believe God gives that power to people to heal others. Personally, I understand why Cessationist believe those things. They are very conservative about healing and wealth/prosperity preaching because well when in the bible did a disiple or an apostle make someone rich when asked? I wouldn't call myself a Cessationist. I honestly don't know how God distibutes miracles. God is very mysterious in His ways and saids He will do His Will as He wants! Yes, I believe true believers are given 1 or more spiritual gifts.
@@angelawindom4711 The reason that I disagree with the ending of spiritual gifts is the concept is not in the Bible and it limits the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works through who He wants to perform miracles healings etc (1 Corinthians 12:11) We cannot use the suspicions actions of some so-called prophets etc to justify the concept that spiritual gifts have ceased. Spiritual gifts are “as the Holy Spirit wills” Thanks

Brother Jerry is a giant among Christians -even in heaven. Everything Jerry taught was based in scripture.
Justin-what you speak against you will repel (such as everything Jesus paid for to destroy from the curse...such as healing, peace, prosperity, etc). Because of Jerry's teaching on healing I was healed of deadly no known cure stage 4 Merkel cancer. Had I not heard that 'by His stripes I was healed.' From Jerry-I would be dead. I'm cancer free today!! Thank you Lord for giving us Brother Jerry who faithfully taught the full Gospel! ❤

Justin's heart seems cold and hardened to someone who just lost someone who loved them.
(The initial clip tells it all) of brother Jerry glorifying Jesus and telling us our salvation is based entirely upon what Jesus did at Calvary!! That's the true gospel and the real Jesus.... what is Justin talking about with Jerry Savelle? ..... Evangelist Savelle has likely saved (yet not the man, but God working through the man) more souls than Justin Peters.

Thank you Rod. I saw Justin's video and was hoping you would respond. Justin showed his shallow understanding of the things he critisizes when he repeatedly referred to Jack Coe as Jack Cole. That one struck me personaĺly since Jack's daughter is a close personal friend. I agree that JP has sunk to a new low. My prayer is that the mean spirited discernment ministries like Justin's will soon wear thin and go away.

Jerry Savalle and the story of Oop Shrauner will always have a special place in my heart. It has been over 20 years since I first heard the story and I still listen to it from time to time. I didn't always agree with Savalle's theology but I did love his stories of faith. Peters video was distasteful and disrespectful.

Yes. I pray for his family at this time! Death is sad and hard to get through when its someone you love. I'm sure his family is comforted in the idea that he is with the Lord he preached about all those years. I don't know if he was or wasnt saved. Thats between him and the Lord. I hope he was.
Thank you for this. When I saw Justin Peters' UA-cam Video on this, it left a horrible distaste on my system, he is an evil man. Definately, he does not know God. He is a modern day Pharisee whose knowledge of the Bible has not driven him to God, but taken him away from Him. He is an enemy of the Genuine Servants of God, a true thorn in the flesh. I am grateful that we have grace to deal with such.

JP…I try to give fellow believers, even with those whom I disagree with, the benefit of the doubt. But this is despicable. Dancing on the man’s grave before he was even in it.
I only listened to the first few sentences of Justin Peters and closed the video. That was so insensitive and absolutely immature of Justin. He really needs Jesus , he clearly didnt know Jerry Savelle at all or was filled with hatred and jealousy. I live in South Africa and Jerry used to be my ministry partner from 2001 to 2003 when I was going thru the worst trials and tribulations. I had lost my job, my house and unemployed for a full 2 years. Jerry kept on sending me letters of encouragement every month and God finally opened the door of employment exactly 2 months before my daughter was born. My daughter obtained a Bcom Accounting degree and she graduated lasr Friday (19 April 2024). I thank God for the life of Jerry Savelle. May he rest in Eternal glory in the loving Arms of Jesus. We will surely see him again in the Eternal Glory of our God. Deepest condolensces to his wife Caroline, his family, his congregation, the church in America and all over the world as we mourn this great man of God.
I once heard Jerry Savelle talk about the time in 1973 when he got invited to speak at a well-known church’s Bible school. When the senior pastor learned of this, he told his assistant who booked Jerry, "I don't want any of those 'faith preachers' in my pulpit!" Jerry didn’t get offended when the assistant called him back. He said, “I didn’t ask for a place to preach. You asked me. No problem.” Years later, that pastor called Jerry and pleaded with him to minister at his church, which had fallen on hard times. Jerry originally wanted to tell the pastor, “I ain’t coming to your ugly church, ugly! You didn’t want me in 1973 and you’re not getting me now.” Instead, the Lord directed Jerry to minister at this church. He even gave a sizable offering, which helped rescue that church. God has a way of vindicating His people who walk in love despite critical Christians speaking evil of them.
I get so tired of influencers accusing everyone not in their group of believing in a fake Jesus. It is hurtful, wrong, and silly. There is only one Jesus Christ and each individual comes to know Him in their own way.
God bless you on this channel. Jerry Savelle was a man of God. God bless his family and im sure his legacy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will carry on in years to come.
Yes there are a lot of people who will look down on others who are not in their group and that is wrong, but there is only one Jesus Christ and He says there is only one way to Him and it’s through receiving His sacrifice @ the cross, so no one can boast about their much doing, salvation is a gift we just need to receive.

I live in the UK, the first time I heard Jerry Savelle’s message my spirit was full of joy and I knew it was God that led me to his messages. He was my best preacher at one point and I got to know Charles Capps and other anointed men of God through Savelle’s messages. I have been blessed by brother Jerry and I thank God for his ministry and obedience. I have no idea why any one would call him heretic, JP is clearing speaking what the devil puts in his mind, and though I have never heard of JP before this video, I will never listen to him if I see his video.

Thanks so much, Rod. Over the years I had only heard parts of Jerry Savelle's preaching, but your clips and commentary truly captured the work and spirit of the man. Also, I was not aware of his evangelism, and videos of him speaking about salvation in Jesus is one of the simplest and clearest presentations I've seen. God bless his family. I'm sure his absence is dearly, dearly felt.
As to JP, well... All I will say is, the contrast between Jerry Savelle's words and JP's depressing and bitter critique is startling, indeed. If Justin's demeanor is a revelation of the spirit in him, then God have mercy.
I don't even know where to begin to comment on how wrong it was for Justin to use the occasion of Mr. Savelle's death to condemn his teaching and pontificate on his eternal destiny, but the things that he said that angered me most had to do with his condemnation of his wealth, knowing full well that his buddy, John MacArthur, gets a pass from him for his wealth, as well as his lackey, Phil Johnson, making every excuse for it. Nothing wrong with being wealthy, but don't condemn a man for being wealthy, when his best friend is, too. The other part was when he said its not enough to go to a church that's biblically sound, but that you have to attend one that only teaches verse-by-verse and doesn't tell stories. What's wrong with telling stories? That's how Jesus preached and conveyed truth. I'm okay with not entertaining people and doing self-help sermons, but personal stories that reach the hearts of listeners and gets right down to where they live, I have no problem with at all---and neither does Jesus who used parables! But then Justin wrapped the whole thing up by telling the Gospel story and leading people to Christ, I guess thinking that by giving an altar call at the end would make up for distastefully using Jerry Savelle's death as an object lesson of someone who he thinks is going to hell

I totally agree with you. I had to avoid this man on UA-cam, as my husband was watching him and had to get away from the TV. Couldn't stand it. The sad thing is that, he's had good teaching in the faith movement and seen miracles, but after watching this guy, I see how he has listened to too much toxic rubbish from this man's mouth.

You could ask the same question of those that follow prosperity grifters!Even Benny Hinn supposedly admitted,in an interview with Stephen Strang, that prosperity preaching is wrong(after he was exposed)....until he went back,after the dust had settled, to preaching prosperity again.If you think these word faith preachers are legit then are foolish.
@@DYoung2112 Making a blanket judgement regarding a teacher who preahces prosperity and calling them a grifter shows your lack of knowledge of the Word regarding this doctrine. Prosperity is cited from Genesis to Revelation and therefore it is acceptable for a bible teacher to preach regarding it. I noticed you skipped to you assertion without addressing the reply of james clay. BennyHinngate is a propaganda campaign to smear him. Taking clips and putting them together as Mike Wingers and You Tubers have done does not make for true journalism. As brothers and sisters in Christ a more mature approach should be taken such as actually speaking to Brother Hinn to address concerns. Presenting a onesided campaign is not true journalism and certainly does not seek the unity we are admonished to be maintained by Apostle Paul.
Justin said Jerry found out he's been preaching a false gospel. The really BIG problem with that is Justin is a Calvinist cessationist so he also believes a wrong gospel because Calvinism is not biblical. The first thing Jesus will probably tell Justin is that His atonement was for everyone and that Justin's 'higher view' of God was actually a lower view of God. He'll probably tell him He never took his gifts back too lol.

I want to thank you Rod for honoring Jerry S. and what "he really" did, I was blessed to learn about this man's life in how he dedicated to God and his work, and it's too bad that J. Peters cannot see what is clearly seen in other denominations of the faith and the fruit there of. The Spirit and flesh are clearly seen here contrasted out for us.

I am not shocked by Justin Peters. The other day, I was unfortunately exposed to Justin's tirade against Mark Driscoll. The man was exploding with rage; especially at so many people cheering for Driscoll standing up to what happen at that conference.
FYI, I hightly doubt all those cheering Driscoll were fans. They simply gave Mark credits. Even Julie had demonstrated a measure of grace and she's NOT a fan. Justin is a man of rage. I was getting angry at what I was seeing. Prayed for the man and decided to block Justin as I don't want to have my anger stirred up on Twitter.
Driscoll is not a man of God. Have you heard any of his rated R sermons?
@@Melissa-Isaiah61BeautyforAshes I saw the one that he re-broadcasted on his channel. I'm referring to the "How Dare You!" sermon. It's the first time that I got to see and learn what was going on.
As for the vulgarity, I don't follow Mark Driscoll and I've no clue of what happened. I did learn that he got kicked out because Mark was spiritually abusive in language and behavior. I was hoping to see if Mark repented or that the leaders at Trinity are keeping Mark, in check.
After the Liddell debacle and Julie Royce's reporting the facts, I can see that Mark has a stronghold that is informing his wrongful use of Matthew 18. I am praying that Mark would recognize what has happened to him is a copy of what he did. That is, we reap what has been sewn.
Do you know what really saddens me? It took a Mark Driscoll to confront a wayward church. It seems no one was willing to stand up to the errant leaders and say this is not right. So many godly Christians lack the boldness and wisdom that is needed to confront such errors. We're more comfortable with letting the Driscolls do the dirty work.

I was troubled after watching JP's video because it made me want to watch more of Brother Savelle's preaching. I found nothing wrong with his messages, and it actually encouraged me, despite JP's criticism. It made me question JP's intentions and who he really is. God chooses who he wants to reveal himself to, without the need for drama or publicity. It is a personal and awe-inspiring experience to be in the presence of the holy one. I was waiting for someone to make a UA-cam video in response to JP's criticism. I am grateful that you made a video highlighting the positive aspects of Gerry Savelle. I hope all Christians will pray for the unsaved to learn about the love of Jesus instead of being discouraged by JP's portrayal of other Christian workers.

May God Almighty bless you abundantly for this video and for setting the record straight. I was greatly pained when I watched Justin Peter's video. I made a comment on that video, disagreeing with the views expressed. In Africa, it is very uncharitable to talk ill of the dead. I couldn't understand how a so-called man of God could degenerate to such level in trying to distort the truth about a servant of God. You have helped me correct an impression I could otherwise have had about some American preachers.
I have listened to Dr. Savelle severally at the Believers Convention, and I must confess he was one of my favourites. May God bless you and comfort the family he left behind. Shalom.

Justin is WAY OUT OF LINE and Spiritually bankrupt. Just so everybody knows.Jerry Savelle made his money off of real estate and oil and gas. Not the poor! And God directed him on which properties to buy. So I would say the message Jerry preached did work for him quite well. Jerry Savelle is a true General of the faith!!

How is he a false teacher? Well if he is he doesnt know it! I dont agree with how far he goes tearing people down and publicly...but he cant stand people being deceived following some Pastors that obviously do not teach the true gospel of Jesus!
I also think that Justin Peters needs to study the word and seek more understanding. No one gets it right all the time, but he gets it wrong more than he gets it right. He is misleading people more than he is helping them. It's a case of the blind leading the blind😢

Most decent people, even the unsaved, won't speak ill of the dead. I don't like to speak ill of anyone living, especially someone who just died. Is it okay for Christians to sue worldly men for slander? According to him, Savelle wasn't his brother, lol. I just pray they don't hear this crap while they are mourning, amen!!! I find it hard to believe that JP is anointed with the Holy Spirit. I wonder how JP came to the Lord, if He did, that is, or, just believes he did? Jerry Savelle was one of the greatest guys I ever knew. He was always was nice and encouraging to me and has been a strong force in my life as a friend and mentor. His books really helped me make the transition from a failed pro basketball player with a career ending injury to a Grammy nominated gospel/jazz musician with millions of albums sold and multiple Gold and Platinum records. As someone who was raised Charismatic, I've been dealing with a lot of doubt about my beliefs over the past few years after listening to apologetics that kicked against it. I spent a lot of time listening to ministers and pastors that made me reconsider many things I had been told all of my life. I even have Allen Parr's book Misled sitting in my bookshelf right now due to all the unanswered questions and even though I would've never called myself a Calvinist, many ministers that I found and liked followed those beliefs and I wondered if I had been wrong.
When I learned of the passing of Jerry Savelle from my mom, since my parents are both connected to Copeland's ministry, I found your channel due to this video. Charismatic apologetics wasn't something I'd ever expect to see, but I'm glad I was able to find you and others like The Objective Believer. I bought your book on Amazon and am currently reading it on my phone and it has been refreshing to hear and read responses to issues that I otherwise never got much of an answer for.

Please be careful about what you listen to and go back to the word of God. I got entrenched with cessationalism, calvinism, apologetics etc and got ill. It was mostly Charismatic preachers that I was warned off that preached divine healing. Everything you need is in Christ. Blessings to you!

Justin is a sad man. He is wheelchair bound and I believe he is angry with God because he can't live a normal life, so he lashes out at the likes of Jerry Savelle, Kenneth Copeland, etc. He needs prayer.
Study the scriptures against what Kenneth Copeland preaches and you can clearly see the man is a heretic. For Copeland to say “ I read in the Bible where he [Jesus] says, 'I Am,' I just smile and say, 'Yes, I Am, too!'”. Blasphemy!
