    This might be one of the best tips and tricks videos I’ve ever seen, it’s pretty well made for a video without fancy editing, it showed a lot of useful stuff that’ll come in handy, and it got straight to the point in the first few seconds, after being so used to UA-cam tutorials taking forever to get onto the point, it almost felt like getting whiplash, and I mean that as a compliment
    Great work

    If you rotate something while having 15 degree turnings turned on, you can hold ALT or SHIFT while rotating so you can rotate props by 1 degree.

    This has to be one of the best videos yet, I love you tophatt. I really don't understand why there isn't a hotkey menu/list inside of hammer, or why items that have hotkeys aren't listed next to the menu item. Like Shift+crtl+E for the 3d view.

    Words can't describe how thankful I am for the Apply Texture to All Faces Shift+Alt+Right Click tip. I can't tell you how much I hated creating pipes just because I knew I'd have to click, Alt+Right click, rinse, repeat for days. Thanks!

    Ctrl+F in the vertex edit view can be used on any two vertexes (as long as they are the same color, as you cannot select a white and yellow vertex at the same time for some reason) to create a new edge between them. This is pretty useful for triangulating faces.

    • @sugrob-ml3fq
      @sugrob-ml3fq 7 років тому

      Well, yellow guys aren't really vertices - they are center of edges.
      Also, what can be used to create an edge between a yellow "vertex" and an actual vertecs is create it between to yellows and merge one of the created vertices into the existing

    Hello, TopHATTwaffle. You have been mapping for so long, but even in this recent video you are saying "vertexes" rather than "vertices," the plural of "vertex." I mean no harassment or humiliation. I feel as this Source 3D mapping is such an interest of yours and you continue doing more with it each year, I feel you will appreciate using correct language relative to your interest. "Vertices," TopHATTwaffle.

    Hey, i have a question that id like you or anyone here to anwser, so im making a quite large jungle map, and I need it to run decent and not load in buildings from far away cause it ruins the jungle feel, so im using a fog with Z clip, it works as expected but I need a large wall of fog, if you kinda understand what im saying, I need it so you cant see skybox or anything past the fog end, like if u put fog in a level with density full and then noclip inside a wall, u can see a big fog wall that doesnt show skybox behind it, how is this possible without nocliping inside the wall, id like it to be like that for everywhere but I cant seem to find out how?

      i set one up but it didnt work like I was hoping, ill tweak it around to see if i can get it to work but I need almost a sphere around the character of fog, I really dont know how to explain it other then that, almost like its night and you cant see anything in sphereical distance
