I assume you're talking about the fact that he moved the tonal center a 4th above the original song? That's a creative liberty, most likely to better fit the range and experience of the instruments he's writing for. Nothing to be too upset about.
Hannah the Musician Usually Sweeney will compromise musicality for easiness of play so he can write for younger players. Which i'm all for personally think it's better to the right key (in most cases I don't expect for beginners to play in C# major) then making it easier.
oh yeah! Paul Murtha's one of my fav arrangers for Hal Leonard and an absolute beast in his own regard, but comparing his to this arrangement by Michael--I think Michael's grooves a lot harder. Great stuff!
So this might be a bit weird but I play clarinet in jazz band and they have a clarinet 1 and 2 part for this song of course I'm the only one but still I feel lonely
Thank you :) The teacher had to simplify the song for me lol (She let me play low F, because I wasn't alway able to hit the high note ). But yeah Trumpet 1 has all the high notes
*Different Key, (instruments have a limit of how high or low they can play, the composer adjusts the key to ensure all notes are within the playing field)
The day Michael Sweeney does something in the right key is the day I will be happy.
Joshua Laporte What do you mean by that?
MrWuzzo When Michael Sweeney does an arrangement he often does it in the wrong key.

Joshua Laporte Well, it is a grade 2 song. For grade 2, you can't expect him to do it in G minor.

Michael sweeny acc slaps he's amazing
Michael Sweeney's Level 2 arrangement is legitimately better than Murtha's Level 4 version. Sweeney is an incredibly talented arranger
