Sorry just have to say this, but dude I'm 30 seconds into your video and your editing, flow, and jokes are spectacular. I know smaller UA-camrs need a push to keep going so KEEP GOING. You definitely earned yourself a sub, keep up the good work this is amazing
+1 for WIS. Probably shouldn't have been down there in the first place. It's like going onto the streets of Chicago at 2am, naked after getting high -- you're just asking for trouble you won't comprehend. You will be defenseless demon-fodder for the Soul.
After watching this 3 times, I started reading the book and like. Wow. Okay. Yeah. Everything is happening all at once and also nothing at all, and this is how you raise people from level 1 to 15 who are completely feral, never catch a break, and no amount of therapy will ever enable them to live in polite society ever again. So pretty good if you'd rather be playing the Cthulu game instead!
I have only read the first chapter of the book, got overwhelmed, then go to your video, and... MY GOD. This is one hell of a chaotic adventure, it seems
Running this campaign soon and when the video ended you said "And now you know how to run Out of the Abyss" and im like "you know no i dont" Amazing video btw 10/10
ever since I found your channel and this video, I've watched it at least once a day (for at least a month)-this is a wonderfully hilarious summary of the adventure and I can't wait to start running it next week
One way to start Out of the Abyss is literally go to Rime of the Frostmaiden and enter the Caves of Hunger and then Completely derail the campaign and then wala XD!!!!
Watching this at 2 in the morning and trying so hard not to laugh; I can't wait to be involved in a campaign of this (DMing or otherwise) Though some of the names I would honestly pronounce differently
This campaign has some very interesting locations and biomes. Definitely worth at least a try! And DnD got some WILD names. Even looking up pronunciation online started making me feel like English was my second language 😂
Glad to help! Using this for homebrew inspiration/foundation is a great idea. Tailoring a campaign to your table and players can be a lot of work, but is very rewarding!
Those two paths in the beginning are hilarious cause our party just jumped down onto the water below the cells and went down a river tunnel all the way to the koa Toa village, granted we had a bunch of insane encounters along the way.
We actually just called off a OotA campaign miday through the Wormwrithings because I don't remember the exact reasons but I blame the limitations of Talespire. Still had a good time while it lasted. I was a harengon cleric that was secretly one of the hidden library's librarians and also made a deal with the demon lord in it for feindish knowledge. By the way the library has a demon lord in it.
Yeah. Really wish the adventure better explained from the start what it wanted the big ideas to be and how to tie player choice to those ideas. But hey at least there are big demon fights!
I bought the book. Read most of it. And now wish I didn’t buy it. So much of it doesn’t make sense. Perhaps something could be used in another campaign but not the one in the book. Well maybe I can sell it on eBay
It is unfortunate that WOTC often has vital importation that ties plots together strung out over several chapters. If you want a full adventure to run, I can't recommend one adventure in particular. Yawning Portal dungeons are pretty useful for dropping into a campaign though.
Depends on how strictly you'll be following the module's "plot" and how good your players are at separating what they know from what their characters know. Or maybe they will forget what this video said over the course of a long campaign!
Thank you! As you probably know from your Curse of Strahd explained in 3 minutes video, these...I guess animated...videos can take a long to make. So happy to see this one is doing well!
Understandable. It is a big adventure, so this super short explanation may not be easy to follow. Recommend a big in depth set of videos from other dnd creators!
sooooo did the DM and all of the players accidentally get high on mushrooms in prison.... as wow that really went far out of left field.... and just kept going and going for way longer than anyone expected....
I have never read this campaign and here I am.... wtf is actually going on? Would I prefer to run this as a dm or experience this as a player, i don't even know anymore...
My group found it boring in Gracklstugh and ended there. I think front loading more of the demon stuff would help inject more excitement into early adventuring areas.
I ... don't think you quite get it. The Underdark is for the dead. It's why the dwarves were chastised by Saruman for "digging a little too deep". You must ask: why are your players there? ALSO, the library at Gravenhollow is something you simply can't comprehend. It's simply not for any level you've comprehended. You'd probably have to be at least level50 to comprehend any of the books there. Think like it's the library of Chtulhu -- you simply won't get it. I mean, honestly, you need to spend a little more time on the street to really get the darkness of this module. Most people simply haven't been through abject poverty, drug addiction, and insanity to understand this module. Try that mini-adventure in your own life, before you open up this D&D campaign and then come back with the wisdom of how to handle it.
I have been reading forgotten realms for decades and never once have I read the drow described as "purple". They have always been described as black-skined or ebony-skined. Why are you describing them differently than how they have been described for more than thirty years? I should know because I've been reading that setting for that long. I can't continue subscribing to your channel if you aren't going to be true to the characters. 😡
My mic was mixed towards the low tone (bass-y) side for this video and youtube compresses audio in ways I dont fully understand, so might need bass-y headphones to hear well. Or crank the audio to ear bleed levels and hope for the best!
I can tell from your tone you think what you have written here is funny... no! Just no. I am not sure if it's the one hit wonder 90's song reference or your whole Orville redenbacher's really cool grandson vibe but again... no. I think your talents probably lay in the realm of silence that is the Mime, the voiceless, soundless singer or the quadruple amputee... that also had their tongue removed so the mouth didn't feel left out. I have spoken.
After almost 4 years of DMing for my players, I found this and it's so accurate... I almost died laughing and now I have long-term madness.
Damn, dont think you even got a WIS save.
My god... "CON descending" is the best thing ever put in youtube
Thank you! I had no idea if anyone would see that when I put it in!
Sorry just have to say this, but dude I'm 30 seconds into your video and your editing, flow, and jokes are spectacular. I know smaller UA-camrs need a push to keep going so KEEP GOING. You definitely earned yourself a sub, keep up the good work this is amazing
Thank you! These take a lot of work to make, so it's nice to hear you like it!
Could agree more. I loved the video, it was painfully accurate. 😂😅
You forgot the best part of the whole module:
The Maze Engine, which can *_START THE WHOLE DAMN ADVENTURE ALL OVER AGAIN_*
Brutal
when my party escaped the underdark they decided to never go back there again which ended the campaign, so sad but i can't blame them lol
Oooof

It truly is! That first chapter with a bunch of NPCs is not a good way to start either.
This is what I'm currently running (just finished Neverlight Grove). Sounds like I will get to end another campaign by sharing one of your videos! Lol
Hell yeah! I think neverlight grove is such a cool strange location. Hope your party liked going there!
Currently starting the second part of this Campaign with the rest of my party, we are on CH 8
@@ManrayO_O you're so far! Chapter 8 is outside the underdark! Any idea what'll happen out there?
Tried something new with the intro. Let me know if you like it!

True. It is a very confusing adventure and video lol

Might happen in my next campaign set in Frostmaiden lands!
Love it. Keep it up. Youre are hilarious. I need it for all of the wotc campaigns!
Thank you, and I will keep them coming!
I’m cackling. This was the BEST summary of out of the abyss. Bless you. 😂😂

I love this! I'm thinking about adapting OotA to fit my homebrew story and this video gave me a very good overview!
Glad to help! Using this for homebrew inspiration/foundation is a great idea. Tailoring a campaign to your table and players can be a lot of work, but is very rewarding!
This is all killer, no filler 👌
The demons do like killing quite a bit.
the 2 months bit got me good. 😂
It is a long time lol

You deserve so much More subscribers, just insane editing value an also funny as hell !
Thank you! Channel been popping off the last few weeks, so seems like the word is getting out!
The other videos about the theme are really long. You in a short time video explained really well!
Thank you!
These are so funny, keep up the great work, man!
Thank you!
Hilarious. Gonna pass on this one. Thanks.
Hope you find one you do like!

5:22 Weeping Angels in D&D?
Those angels are weeping, but not the doctor who version. Just the crying in stone version.
You forgot the part of the maze engine where there is a 1 in 50 chance you start the adventure over again
Oof. Great for the DM if they just want to play with a new group lol
great video
Great comment! 😊
Started this and recalled when I played this and tried to kill the Kaiju early.... I wonder how the rest would play out if I succeeded....
Where can I find the animation used inté chapter where they escape and than enter underdark?
Is it from an UA-cam or twitch channel?
Great job!

What's the piano song playing when the demogorgon rampages in the city of spiders?
A Thousand Miles

You put the wrong demon lord inside the gem.
I've checked and you are correct. Guess I mixed up the demon naming. Woops!

😂😁😂 "Its not what it looks like!"
When the revues are better then the movie lol.
Where's decent into Avernos?
It's in hell.

@Mister_R hopefully some day! Don't own the adventure yet, so need to do that part first!

what...

The underdark is rather chaotic, especially with all those demons running around, so that's understandable.
