- This episode covers Operation Jinzhou, part of the Japanese invasion of Manchuria 1931-1932.
During the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, members of the Kwantung army led by Ishiwara Kanji performed a false flag operation known as the Mukden incident. After this the Imperial Japanese Army gradually conquered vast spans of Manchuria through violence and political coercion. After the Mukden incident, the Kwantung Army attacked and captured Kirin. After this numerous major cities began collaborating with the Japanese such as Liaoyang, Yingkou, Fushun, Mukden, Siping, Dandong, Changchun, Jilin, Jiaohe and Dunhua.
Those like General Ma Zhanshan led resistance efforts in Heilongjiang province. This however opened the way for the Kwantung Army to pursue further conquest. Next would by Jinzhou, the stronghold of Manchurian Warlord Zhang Xueliang. Zhang Xueliang was advised not to resist, but he still tried to gather his forces at Jinzhou to not lose control over Manchuria. The Chinese tried asking the League of Nations for help, but the Japanese simply brushed it all aside.
In the end Zhang Xueliang was unable to stop the advance of the Japanese against his stronghold of Jinzhou. Zhang Xueliang would take his surviving men and depart Manchuria. The Japanese would further consolidate their gains until the formation of the new puppet state of Manchukuo.

Remember when you could capture two large territories of a country and still not be "at war"? Those were the days. :D
GOD, That is so Wrong! I had an uncle who was a U.S.M.C. Infantryman (China-Marine) in China (1937-'47); he's likely spinnin' in his grave as I read this (LoL)! I should be ashamed, but I love it. 😂
Finally caught up with all the episodes. Can’t wait for the next one. Keep up the great work Craig! 👍🏻
thanks man means a lot!
What a delightful surprise to find your channel. I'm very interested in Japanese antics in China, and the China and Pacific theaters of operations. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man it means a lot to me!
Great stuff, very informative
Craig, your animations are on point, love it
thanks man means a lot to me!
Just discovered your channel. It’s amazing content. It’s definitely not the quality of your content. It’s top notch. It’s hard to find your channel. I looked up pacific war and came up with other channels and had to specifically type in pacific war channel. Have you thought about renaming it?
👍
What movie is this from?
I am not going to lie to you, its extremely difficult to find this one. It used to be or is still on UA-cam, in English its a 38 Episode Chinese TV Series called "Battle of Jiangqiao". However, I literally have been scrambling to find it again for more clips I will be using for the next few episodes and it seems to have disappeared =(. There are also clips from another Chinese show "The Young Marshall" that can be found on UA-cam as well....and I think with English subs!
