Goodbye 再見 lyrics
My heart is broken
but what care I ?
Such pride inside me has woken
I'll try my best not to cry, by and by
When the final farewells must be spoken
I'll join the legion, that's what I'll do
and in some far distant region
Where human hearts are staunch and true
I shall start my life anew
Goodbye, it's time I sought a foreign clime
Where I may find there are hearts more kind than I leave behind
And so I go to fight the savage foe
Although I know that I'll be sometimes missed by the girls I've kissed
In some Abyssinian French dominion I shall do my bit
And fall for the flag if I must
Where the desert sand is nice and handy I'll be full of grit
You won't see my heels for the dust
I'll do or die, you'll know the reason why
when toldof bold Leopold's last stand for the fatherland
Goodbye, it's time I sought a foreign clime
Where I may find there are hearts more kind than I leave behind
And so I go to fight the savage foe
Although I know that I'll be sometimes missed by the girls I've kissed
In some Abyssinian French dominion I shall do my bit
And fall for the flag if I must
Where the desert sand is nice and handy I'll be full of grit
You won't
I'll do or die, you'll know the reason why
when told of bold Leopold's last stand for the fatherland
Goodbye Goodbye
I wish you all a last "Goodbye"
Goodbye Goodbye
I wish you all a last "Goodbye".

Ned Beatty did a magic performance in this movie
Goodbye, lovely Ned Beatty. You'll be missed.
„Adieu, mein kleiner Gardeoffizier“ sung in English... I had never heard that before (didn‘t even recognize the English title), but Josef Locke and composer Robert Stolz join forces for a great and very enjoyable recording... ⭐️👏⭐️
Thanks for the upload! 🙏
Happy St. Patricks Day All 🇮🇪
What a cool tune for the day☘
Great movie, great actor. Goodbye, Ned!
My father used to sing this to my mother when they first met .What a song to lift ones heart
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful oh how very beautiful.
Lovely film and an outstanding song my uncle Richard sang RIP.
Ned Beatty was superb was a great actor.
Fantastic film I have the dvd .
Nobody sings as good as joe locke
My dads favorite song bless him
He was listening 🎶 with you from heaven 🙏
Hi All
I loved this film. Obviously it was not Ned Beatty who sang, although he did a masterful presentation.
Nor was it the great Joseph Locke, who's version can be found elsewhere on UA-cam.
The magnificent voice was, in fact, supplied by the great Vernon Midgley.
Midgley was an trained opera singer with a lovely voice. He did a great job, but Locke's gift was the emotion he could stir in his audiences, reducing them to tears with the raw beauty of his voice. Both gifted men.
Yes, I used to listen to Vernon and Marietta Midgeley on the Good Old Days and on probably what was the Light Programme radio or maybe BBC radio 2
Was dads favourite song RIP Dad God Bless
My dad and your dad were listening 🎶 from heaven 🙏
R.I.P Dad God bless you
A favourite number often performed by my late cousin, Jarlath, whose adieu takes place tomorrow.

Great British singer
Wonderful
Great Stuff
Composer of the GOOD BYE SONG is Robert Stolz
Thank you I didn't know that 👍👍
He was going to spend the rest of his life in jail. And then rescue came in like a wrecking ball!
Actually, in real life, he had resolved his tax problems with England before he went back. It is, as we call it, poetic license.
Chat Noir i
Ummm. That's "boldly opposed", not "bold Leopold's".
