- The East Texas Model Railroad Club, Inc. (ETMRC) is a not-for-profit Texas Corporation established for the association of model railroad hobbyists and committed to the history of railroads in the steam to diesel transition era.
Incorporation date was 31 May 1994.
A new HO scale permanent layout is mostly complete. The yard track work is complete, however, engine servicing and repair facilities are in their early stages, pending completion of the country trolley line.
The layout uses either Digital Command Control (DCC) or analog DC control, and features a fully operational block signal and route signal system.
HO scale standard gauge, dual gauge HOn3, narrow gauge HOn2. In front of the scale museum there is a little tri-gauge. Stunning, reliable track work, dazzling electronics, dispatch board with lights to show occupancy, signals, CVP controls, and sound.
Structures and scenery are outstanding, cityscapes, mountains, backdrops with easy curves. Downtown with believable skyscrapers and street cars.
Make it a point to visit The East Texas Model Railroad Club and see a stunning model railroad layout!
It is HO and it's wonderful!

Love the trains but it be cool if you had a tiny rc car too drive around the streets with. Have a little camera mounted too it so you get some cool footage
Would like to see some more dd40 action. And have that trolley drive switch to decaf.
Impressive
Great layout. Except for the mousetrap.
I wish I was ur friend .. am crazy about trains.
Thank you my Friend!!!!
Excellent job. Just watch track speed, might just be my video speed.
We don't need no stinkin' scale speeds ! Run them like slot cars !
Go Big or Go Home!
Did you suffer any damages from the recent cold and power outages?
Very impressive layout. Did the club use plaster for the street running track used by the streetcar? Thanks for sharing.
I noticed the mouse trap on the layout.
I am confused why is some of the tracks have a line down the middle and is everything going to fast
Third rail is for adaptation of narrow gauge rail cars. Narrow gauges were used is some areas where clearances were tight. ( some of the early
gold mining areas in the mountains of Colorado used narrow gauges ).
Some of the scenery foliage colors are too bright. The one town scene with the trolley loop, however, looks good.
Can someone tell me please: What is the function of a caboose? I'm a New Zealander and I''ve never seen anything like one on any of our trains. So there's the next question: WHat's changed in more recent times that cabooses aren't needed any more?
The purpose of the caboose was to provide a rolling office for the train's conductor and the brakemen. The conductor was the railroad official who was responsible for the train... he was the train's captain.
Cabooses are no longer used on mainline trains, however, they are still used during yard switching. In the early eighties, the caboose was replaced with a device called the end of train device (EOT) on mainline trains. Railroad companies say the device accomplishes everything the caboose did-but cheaper and better.
@@Need4Life thank you. That makes sense. I’ve been wanting to ask someone who might know the answer for years but believe it or not it never occurred to me to ask here until now.
You are welcome!!!
