@@vicdeandrea8112 Nope. Not kidding. The layout is near perfect. The communication lines are amature at best. I have never seen lines that tight, and never will. Except on a model RR layout.
Amidst everything going on in the world right now, I hope this video can give y'all a quick break from it all. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your loved ones. :) Josh
NSmodeler24 Dear Jose, I escaped mentally from this virus scare through your video of this model RR. I’ve viewed many model RR videos, but this one has the most DETAILS. No one ever adds the wires to the ‘code’ poles (telephone poles), these guys did! I might be wrong, but I think I saw a cockroach inside the train station in the NE corner. So impressed with the details, saw mill, track switching, trees, RR crossings, etc. Thanks, Dennis, San Diego
Tim being a railroader is another reason for the level of detail, he has had access to a lot of things most aren’t privy to, add to the authentic operating practices. One of my favorite layouts, I’ve once met Tim at an NHRS convention, which one escapes me, but a super nice guy.
When I saw the BN F units, I had an inkling that maybe I'd seen this layout before. That diner confirmed it, because I'd seen the vid where the Bicentennial SDP40 had stopped for a crew lunch. One of the best layouts I've ever seen. I subscribed years back on the strength of that video with the Bicentennial unit.
Interesting when he said we are continuing into another room.......very impressive craftsmanship......the trees add a tremendous amount of realism to the geographic location of the Pacific northwest.......
Watching with admiration and envy from Melbourne Australia. I was born in 1976. Still pictures in magazines don't do Tim's extraordinary work and skills justice. I look forward to the CTC feature next.
My word, what a layout!! Bravo to everyone and for everything included and involved with this layout! The narrator has a fine diction and enunciation, as well!
I dont understand how anybody could give this a thumbs down... this is an incredible layout... awesome trackwork... superb A to Z, would love to see in person, what a treat, great narration THANK YOU
Just after I expand to add a BN line to my collection/fleet, THIS video comes out. How cool is that?! Great job by the builder. Professional and articulate by the narrator/camera man.
Being from the Seattle area, I love this video! Fruitville, I'm very familiar with that area. I frequently pass through that area while hauling contaminated dirt from the Seattle area. As a boy I also have fond memories of that town.
I am visiting this ammmazing layout again after a few months. I notice so many beautiful, thoughtful details, especially the gravel/dirt road at 12:21. Its beautiful. So real. What a work of love and passion. Just beautiful. And yes, the trackwork is terrific. Thanks once again. God bless.
This is truly a great video and appreciate the effort taken to produce it. I've had the pleasure to operate on Tim's layout. For those of you not lucky enough to see it in person, this video captures the essence of realism as if you were there in person. Tim and those who've contributed to the design and implementation of this masterpiece are artists in every form to their contribution to making it a functioning railroad. VRY
As with here in the UK, the foibles and ideosyncrasies of the US historical landscape is so photogenic on layouts. In our country we have the countryside littered with ancient buildings and the industrial revolution marked towns. In the US, my favourites are the mining towns and logging camps. They say so much about the history of the place. This layout is a masterpiece, by the way. We'll done!
Boy what a great video! Ive been into Trains since my 1st set Christmas of 1966 Iam 60 today and Im still into one of my favorite hobbies along with building model cars,ho slotcars, hunting, fishing, gardner, guitar player, photographer and a few others including lawn trail riders, karate, guitar builder, song writer... thank god Im retired since 2014 lol O and Im single also maybe thats why I have money for hobbies lol
Looking into the details of the era truly bring one back. So many attention to detail items make this such a wonderful step back in time. The ice machine outside the station is just one of thousands of carefully thought out attributes to this incredible undertaking. To all involved, Bravo!
This is certainly a world class layout, but your commentary really brought it to life. Having a purpose for a layout gives realism, but your in-depth explanation of so much detail was fantastic. Great work all who were involved in this presentation. Cheers.
What a beautiful layout. At the top of any list of good layout design is that the railroad have a purpose. This layout certainly has that with several well detailed industries that it serves. The production of this video is excellent as well. The background music is appropriate and not distracting and the narrator enunciates clearly and is well paced.
This is Amaizing I love e everything about this layout and I love the little Grayhound Bus too,I use to have one as a Kid a little bit bigger but just seeing that bus took me back to 1970 so cool.
The house I grew up in was right next to the Burlington Nothern Line (now BNSF) in Auburn, Wa just south of Seattle. There was also a freight yard just down the street. I used to love seeing those diesel locomotives painted in that classic green finish roar pass my house. At night the sound of a passing train was kind of relaxing in a weird way.
love the intro and closing shots, that lash up is like a buffet of all that is locomotives, it gets no better than that. I swear I could smell the exhaust. This is first class work. Anyone else bummed when the video ended??? Would love to see more of the CTC. Thanks so much for the layout tour, your videos are always so well done and narrated, Cheers Rob
Best layout tour video I have seen. Kinda looks looks a drone took the video’s. To me the thing that really stands out comparing this video to others I have seen is the quality of the narration. So many other videos I have seen are sometimes a little painful to listen to. The narration on this video was smooth as well as very informative. Great job.
Wow, what a great video of Tim's layout, Josh! I've known Tim since we were in kindergarten together, and he is 100% responsible for my model railroad addiction. I've also had the pleasure of operating on the layout several times, and it is always a blast! I've recently moved to Catonsville, Maryland from Northern California and for the first time in my life I have a nice sized basement to build in from scratch. I plan on using many of Tim's design and operating cues.
Incredible detail. I’m seeing these on roads, bridges, fallen trees, rocks. That yard, wow! I love that Greyhound Bus, and cars. Very period.suggest changing the tittle to “Details” 😉Thanks for loading. My favorite Model train channel.
This is really amazing. Perfect timing too as I've become interested in modeling BN myself, in mountainous Pacific NW style. Your method and style in doing overviews is really amazing. You are a credit to this hobby and spreading it to others.
Incredible work! Very impressive. I am modeling Montana Rail Link in O-Gauge and I can truly appreciate the mountain scenery . Outstanding detail and what a use of space ! Thanks for the tour .
ALL that hard work and time invested in that entire layout.. WOW! but the trees? It seems that the hard work ends at the trees! One of the most easiest pieces of the landscape to make and model.
Grew up in Missoula before and after the merger, jumped a lot of NP freights out of MSO. Nice to see the interesting lash up of units at the beginning of the video. This is a very impressive layout.
Burlington Northern has always been my favorite railroad, in the future I'd like to model the BN era of the St Joseph Subdivision which ran from Falls City, Nebraska through St Joseph, Missouri and ends at Kansas City, Missouri.
An outstanding layout. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
At the risk of sounding corny, but offered completely heartfelt, this layout is not merely world class, it is Universe class. Few, few can compare.
The only thing that is not done well are the power/communication lines along the track. Way too tight.
I concur, wholeheartedly.
and you have to be very lucky to get to see this layout too could be a dream one day to get to see this layout in person

Scotabot You’re welcome Josh. Dennis.
Every little bit helps. Keep up the good work.
@ClearlyCaribbeanReb You too CCReb! :-)
I couldn't handle the amount of dedication it takes to build a layout based on a real life location during a specific year. Insane.

Those are the best looking power lines I've seen in a long time.
"E Z Line" They make all kinds of colors.
Probably the best model Railroad ever built. This is incredible.
You do the best layout reviews of anyone on the web.
another great video which was a pleasure to watch. thank you for your kind words, hope you all stay safe and well god bless Al.👍👍👍😊😊😊
A Green BN locomotive will always find me of my childhood.
Tim's attention to detail is second to none. Really enjoy the ride and tour.
Interesting when he said we are continuing into another room.......very impressive craftsmanship......the trees add a tremendous amount of realism to the geographic location of the Pacific northwest.......
WOW, I have seen many HO Layouts, but I think this one really wins the Trophy 🏆 BEAUTIFUL!!!!
The autos on layout amazing. Tons of them and all highly detailed. All period correct, too

I too have been collecting BN, CB&Q and SP&S. I have a BN B30-7B (cabless) Overland brass on it's way, it will fit into the BNSF merger as well.
And I thank Tim for allowing you to share this and thank you for making this video. Job well done.
