if you come to the US and get married on a tourist visa then go back home and file for a spouse visa, can you still travel back and forth to the US on the tourist visa while it’s processing if you don’t plan to overstay?
Hi Megan, we recently found out by a US lawyer in 2023, if you go to the US for longer than 90 days on a passport/visitor visa you can get married AFTER the 90 days and stay in the US with your spouse and apply for status of adjustment. Apparently they do allow that but ONLY after 90 days. And you have to stay in the US with your spouse and no travelling outside of US during the process to make things transition more smoothly. Is this your understanding?

Does it take longer to get married on a tourist visa, go home to your originating country (for me that's the UK), and then apply for your spouse visa out of country? Or is it easier to get a fiancé visa and apply for adjustment of status?

Question how about when you have had a tourist visa for a long time and know you have a fiance and want to get married in the USA and stay over and file a petition. Can you do that?
Ok, so what happens if this is the case, and she and her child wants to stay, are they forced back out? Does the marriage remain or VOIDED? ..

I am a US citizen planning to Marry a Canadian. I plan to immigrate there to canada. We want to marry in the USA for convenience of family but he will return to Canada at the end o the six months he is allowed here. Is this ok?
If we change our plans later (after he’s Already returnd to canada) and decide he should immigrate here, will that have been wrong that the marriage already took place here? Or I can still do a CR1 if decide to?

So I got married online and went to Philippines dec30,21 and came home feb3.22 she is still living in the Philippines. So is she able to come here on a spousal visa like I was and leave? I also want to file for her to come here to live. And I need to file l-130 for me and l-130a for correct? But I hope she can come and visit while I start the paperwork. Help me

Bro, you're in the military. While you're on active duty it is very easy to get your citizenship, I was a citizen long before I entered the military, but I remember during the process and shortly after getting in, they were asking everyone who does not have citizenship and wants to get their. Its very easy while you're in the military, get it done.
Hello at the end where you said you can get married in the U.S., return to your country and file for the spouse visa....I am a US citizen and my fiance is from Mexico. We want to marry in the United States but we are going to live in Mexico for a few years. Eventually we will move to the United States but this is not going to happen right away. If we marry here in the United States and return to Mexico, will the U.S. government give us problems if they find out she married me while on a tourist visa?
Hello, did you ever get a response to this or how did you go about it? im really trying to find accurate information, nervous about declaring that im going into the USA for marriage purpose but i intend to come back to mexico.
@@jacquelinej4162 Yes I did. So nothing can stop you from marrying in the U.S. on a tourist visa but once the spouse that is a Mexico citizen returns to Mexico, the U.S. tourist visa is voided and will not be allowed back into the U.S. Would have to file for the spousal visa and they say average time takes 18-30 months to get approved. Then they will be able to come legally into the U.S. Hope this helps!
