Pro tip - 🎉get the rbc ion+ where you 3x the points on major spending categories like groceries and gas and can transfer the premium point to elite point at a rate of 1:1
Love your content and I watch 'em all! But I believe there are some inaccuracies in this video. RBC Avion Infitite earns 1.25 points on all travel coded purchases not just through the RBC travel portal. Also all "Visa Infinite Avion" cards earn Elite Points. The "Ion" cards earn Premium. Premium points can't transfer to as many airline partners (only West Jet) as Elite points.
My husband and I are looking to go to Japan next fall, traveling from Vancouver. We have a lot of avión points saved up up - would you recommend transferring to BA then? Using Japan air? We were also looking at booking flights to Europe directly through the avión site, but they wanted 65,000 points + $800+ CAD, which was the same price as paying cash. Is it ever a good deal to book directly through avión site or only when transferring to partners?
Love your videos. As someone who works out of Winnipeg Are you always just flying to either Toronto or Vancouver before flying international? Are there any other options? What are the cheapest ways to do so? I want to fly to Tokyo and then to Thailand eventually out of Winnipeg. Any tips or tricks?
interesting...so when you say "you booked a flight on xx airline"...did you book it on Avion website, or on the specific airline website? and if on the specific airline website, how did you do that? Can you share pls?
Your videos are so helpful! Keep them coming.
3:39 you get 1.25 points on all "Travel" MCC codes not just through the RBC portal

Love it but try to talk a little bit away from mic and less vocal fry. It kinda spoils the pleasant experience watching your video

I'm guessing Avion and Aeroplan are not a good mix at all right?
RBC didn't really think it through, these points are way too hard to use without going to the US first
