This is the first video on this I've seen that doesn't cause the magenta bugs in the virtual cockpit to get passed through, so thank you very much for showing a different color that works better.
I got this to work in no time! Thanks so much for the tutorial. SOOOOOOOO much more stable & repeatable than SimXR. I have my center button set to spacebar, so my VR cockpit and my OpenKneeboard center at the same time, with one keystroke. FANTASTIC!
Hello! Thanks for a great Mixed Reality video! What size is the touch screen you are using. If built into the cockpit panel, what size do you recommend? Is there a particular manufacturer you recommend?
MY MAN… this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I bought SimXR, and found it super cumbersome, and worst of all, not persistent. Giving this a try with the 1:1 scale panel I built for the Piper Arrow III.
great vid. If you are just after a simple template use Windows own MSPaint. Draw your shape eg Square tool. Select your colour with Edit Colours enter 255,0,255 select Fill tool to fill it with this colour. Select Crop to trim the edges and save it as a .png file.
Great video! I see you output instrument gauges to ipads. Have you tried MFDs in MR? I also use OpenKneeboard and VD for passthrough in DCS and they work great. In MSFS, if I pop out MFDs and drag to second monitor, they only work in 2D. In VR, they freeze and don't move for maps, artificial horizon etc. for several aircrafts that I tried.
That's great. But still if you notice it still hasn't aligned completely up until the right of the cockpit. Can you please also suggest a fix for that. Thank you and very nice work! Appreciated
great video, love the new passthrough tech. My problem is I have realsimgear instruments and when I pop out a instrument panel in msfs and start VR the panel freezes. This is a known bug for at least two years. Do you know of any work arounds or fixes for this?
I wish I could give you a solution. I have exactly the same problem. I looked high and low for a work around but there is none as far as I can tell. This is a bug that ASOBO doesn't seem to care about or want to fix. Apparently it did work at some point but then there was an update that broke it. :(
Not at all. In my opinion this is a perfect solution for a passthrough and works really well. There is no stuttering or reduced frames unlike Reality Mixer which needs Steam VR.
Why has nobody created a simple method that you just draw where you want mixed reality much like you do with the vr handset when you create boundaries. The current methods are so bad. I spent hours trying to get it even half right and finally gave up! It is such a pain and where I have a full cockpit CRJ it never would get angles correct and trying to go back and forth to make tiny adjustments would take so much time it would make no sense. VR is nowhere near where we need it for those building full cockpit sims.

excellent video tutorial. Thank you very much.
Just tried this, works perfectly with zero noticed load. Much better then anything else out there.

Very informative. Thank you so much. 👍 Is it possible to use a photo of one's actual cockpit to make a pass through and put that through FreeCad?

Absolutely great tutorial! Thank you so much!!!
Gracias por enseñar esta gran herramienta. Buen Tutorial
Great Video 👍

Great tutorial!
I was wondering why you traced the entire panel and then didn’t scale it to match the sim cockpit?
Don't need to. The scaling is done in OpenKneeBoard...

@@CreatewithTech oh, what a bummer. I was thinking about buying a realsimgear gps and use it with this program 😔
To be transparent, you do need Virtual Desktop which is not free. That said I can't imagine anyone flying in VR with MSFS doesn't already have it.
This is true. I should have been clearer on this. Thanks! RG
Thanks for the video. Did you notice any degradation in GPU/CPU performance when employing this solution?
