My word of the year is Decisive- I need to trust my gut more and make decisions quicker. I will be doing a No Spend in January to help kick start me adding more money to my Emergency Fund.

I always have a word of the year! My word for 2024 is "Restoration " - Restoration of health, finances, home and relationships. Some of my goals are to pay off all debt, go on a family vacation (Myrtle Beach this year) and getting our basement decluttered/organized so I can move my work office down there. You are an inspiration! ❤

I’ve never done a word of the year, but I think I will this year! I’m going to pick the word “Focused”. I’m debt free except for my mortgage and I’m going to try to knock that down as much as I can.

I started word of the year last year because of your passion for it, and I do get it and want to continue!
For 2023 I wanted to relax and enjoy more. I failed misserable on the relaxing part but did learn that I do not like to relax and sit still, but I definitely want to enjoy the result of the hard work more, so for 2024 it will be ENJOY!

I have 5 financial goals for 2023. I have NO idea of I’ll achieve them because I might be unemployed in the near future but I thought let me aim high lol 😂
1) Max 401K
2) Max HSA
3) Max ROTH IRA
4) Contribute 6K to 529
5) Contribute 50K to Brokerage

My 2023 word was Adventure and my 2024 word will be Faith. My 2024 goals are to visit one new Country, one new State, increase 3 of my reserve account balances and I’ve budgeted money to complete some home repairs. Merry Christmas!

I want to rebuild our emergency fund but I also have teenagers and they are expensive 💸💸💸 I haven’t though about amount, maybe I’ll try it out the first months of the year to see how our budget’s doing. I would like to save for: emergency fund, 2 trips (one is our skiing vacation in march), a house fund (for renovations). My son is turning 18 and will be getting his drivers license in april but we’ve already paid for almost all of that. The plan is for me to take the drivers license for motorcycles as well, need to save for that too. That’ll be at least $2000. I guess it’s not only teenagers who cost a lot 😅😂
It’s so interesting to hear about your goals, how are you going to prioritize them?
They are so expensive! As far as financial goals we are prioritizing the basement first since we need to finish that project. Then moving to emergency fund, and then finishing with the rest of our goals probably at the same time. Tracking spending obviously will be all year long.
