    Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not the solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level.

    Your turn 1 camera footage is some of the clearest example of trail breaking I think I've seen in video format, that would make a great short clip for explaining it.

    I like that you basically don't need to steer in the Audi. All those top lap times only turn a bit on entry then slip angle all the way through. This car just wants to go around corners. So geil.

    How does the M4 runs here? I've been away 9 months and getting now back into ACC. Has the M4 performance been mitigated with updates? I have to work my way back to the timines I was able to reach in last June. I'm now at Hungaroring trying to gain some confidence. Thanks...

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  Рік тому +1

      its been forever since I drove here really in the M4. Since then the gar had a new shorter gearing and an engine nerf. I could imagine it hurts traction a bit. Its surely not on the level of mclaren or porsche, honda here. but definitely among the best front engines i believe

    Hi Nils, I can race around 1.45.0 and after your video with ABS 5 I Can do 1.44.3.... but I don't get the TC 2 , I'm using G29 , in this track Ferrari GT3 EVO and it's almost impossible to run on TC under 8-9. Whats your recommendation ... I see my problem is a bad energy admin and I think TC is the key to 1.43. Thanks for the video.

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  Рік тому

      all cars are very different and have different TC logic, they also interact differently with the electronics. You cannot compare TC2 on the Audi with TC2 on the Ferrari. It's normal to run a bit higher TC on Ferrari. I guess another problem might be the hymo or Go setup you are using? They are not very beginner friendly and the cars are often rather lose on the rear and that's where TC saves your ass. Am I right? :)

      @@SimracingPopometer sure 100% right, I use to drive AMG Evo with CDA in most of the tracks....and I am 2.5-2 seconds of LFM laptimes in most tracks, I'm trying to find the key to get time down.... Dunno what gonna make me do that--- driving style, wheel settings or car setup. Your videos are helping me a lot ....

    • @SimracingPopometer

      we made popometer.io for that - it can be a lot of guess work and difficult to compare to a video. laying data on top of one another usually tells a clear story

    Thanks but even after going through this and practising all week my best time is a 1:50.5 and I average around 1:51. I honestly do not understand how you get through some of those corners at the speed that you do, and If I brake where you brake I'm in the wall.

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  Рік тому

      I suggest looking into the data. especially car placement.
      there's literally no way it's not down to your inputs. you're probably trying way too hard. let the car do the work, don't force it around.
      feel free to record a lap on popometer and come to discord so we can have a look

      @@SimracingPopometer Thanks for the offer but I don't think it would help. I've been sim racing for over 20 years and I've always been the guy who runs last. I've even had coaching on Gran Turismo a few years back, and at the end of it the guy politely informed me to forget it and find something else.

      I know what you are talking about :-D Also had times of 1:51. After watching this video, I managed to make a 1:48. What helped me getting faster was getting better on the brakes. This means trail braking and reducing braking force while steering into the corner. When being 100% on brake too long, I am also not making the corner. Therefore I brake a bit earlier then mentioned in this video, to have more time to manage the speed/brake on my way to the apex. Another good hint was focusing on the line and being on Throttle, when I see that the car is beginning to head its face beyond the line to the apex to the inner side.

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  Рік тому

      its usually 107% rule.
      So if the lap is 1:40, your average needs to be below 1:47

    • @cedricg5108
      @cedricg5108 Рік тому

      @@SimracingPopometer Thanks for the answer. I had gotten that 107% rule information from LFM's FAQ. What I wanted to know is how fast is the reference lap, is it a 1:42 or is it faster or slower? This way I know when I have reached a decent enough pace.
      That being said I just watched your AWESOME video (👏) and I am definitely getting lazy in places where I should not. So once that is sorted out, I should be alright!

    • @SimracingPopometer
      @SimracingPopometer  Рік тому

      I think its referencing to the fastest times recorded on LFM, so if you check the track statistics, you should see the fastest times. I believe just about 1:41.8 or so
