Not me over here literally crying when Lana started humming the song with a hurt (possibly dead) Mui in her arms. 😭
The main dev of this game is Swedish! :D So his last name that you struggled to pronounce is a Swedish last name that starts with a sound which is very complicated to non-Swedish speakers and unfortunately difficult to explain via text. But! His last name, "Stjärnljus" can be translated and in English becomes "Starlight". Loved the playthrough and as a Swede, I'm happy to see more games by Swedish dev teams make it! :D
I already see Swedish devs as some of the best
Could be that Mui is the final form of something like a personal assistant, or a computer interface. it seems that the robots were left with a final directive of keeping humans safe, and decided that putting them all in comfortable cages is how they decided to accomplish this. There are probably many scenarios that fit, but I like to think that all the creatures that Mui could control used to be more like Mui but evolved (devolved?) to fit whatever niche they could find in nature after the fall of the civilization they were created to support.
I like to think that the light is a natural feature of all the creatures on the planet and when humans arrived they learned to domesticate the creatures like Mui and harness the light and use it with the melody that's stored in the bracelet/crystal. Maybe they forgot the controlling melody and lost touch with Earth and that's why the robots showed up to protect the humans, they thought something was wrong due to the signal connection being broken, but it took them so long to arrive because Earth is so far away and the history got forgotten with time like the melody
@@ArtisanYozora One of the shrine fragments reveal that these cat like creatures comes from Earth. It also picted explosion on surface of new planet. Most likely two half of generation ship got separated. Gigant orb from living quarters that crashed into jungle. Maybe orb was in space for many years and it comes late and try to rescue crashlanded people.
People got separated to 4 groups and creatures evolved to many forms in harsh enviroment. Maybe Mui was last of original kind and Orb recognise it as pure.
@@MeltedMask Ohh I really like that too
very interesting
I just want to say that my cat, ella, watched the live stream of this game and she was so excited to see this video again! Her tail could not stop wagging and she actually sat in front of the tv to watch gab play this game. Gab is probably my favorite UA-camr and it is the sweetest thing to enjoy watching her play games with my new cat ella.
Side note: shes been watching her with me ever since 🐈❤
My take from the ending of the game is that the robots were the care takers of the humans but along the way the humans adapted to the planet and slowly forgot about the robots.
The robots sat there deactivated for years probably, until the main core corrupted from not being used for years and twisted the song, so the robots probably thought there goal was to capture the humans and relocate them to a different planet instead of watching over them on this planet!
That's probably why the core faught Lana and Mui! It probably thought she was an enemy to humans and tried to burn her out of it's core!
Nice take!
The melody reminds me of the beginning of "When You Believe" from Prince of Egypt.
"Many nights we prayed..."
yesssssss
I thought the same thing!
Oh my gosh! That’s why I started thinking of prince of Egypt music while listening to this!
I just said the same thing!
watched you play this for 10 minutes then bought the game aha, it's so beautiful!
The sense of wonder and childlike beginning that quickly turns dark reminds me of bramble
And then the art style is reminiscent of limbo. This game is outstanding!!! And it's from another swedish game developer!! I love when you play this kind of games!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just finished this game and wow, its really nice experience. I also played Bramble and liked it a lot too.
Usually I play action, soul like and shooters but these 2 games made me fall in love with these artististic, story based shorter games. I need more...
Previous stream ends at 2:07:31 :)
thanks, i was confused why this wasnt "part 2" lol
Thanks for the time stamp wanted to continue watching haha =D
You absolute legend. Thank you!
Bless you❤
Thanks! Was hoping someone would comment where she stopped streaming.
Woo a new Gab smolders full game, time to get cozy
Exactly 😌
Everything in this game is so well done. The art, the gameplay, the music, the mui... It's one of those games that leaves you so satisfied at the end ❤️
After 15 min into the game the poor little kid has run for hours! I am anxious about how hungry and thirsty he must be. I love the artwork and the story is intriguing.
Damnnnnnn...........
What a beautfiful video game, as a debute title from a new dev studio. And the music, holy cats! SO good. Like movie-epic good. (This game's environments and story has strong Trigun feels....)
And the design for the big cycloptic boar (that's supposed to be scary, but still so cute)........He just a BIG boyyyyyyy. :)
the game "harold halibut" should be up your alley gab, it has a unique art style paired with stop-motion animation.
This game was such a delight from start to finish.
From the music and sound design to the visual and characters; Really goes to show how "simplicity" can hold such beauty.
Despite the minimal dialogue and the worldbuilding being delivered purely through the environment and journey of the characters, the story - and backstory of how civilization started on the planet - etc are clearly outlined and easy to digest.
And you can really see how much love and care has been put into this game and the players (and viewers) experience throughout.
Truly a great game to experience through/with Gab. No1 cozy & comfort yt channel any day~
Dang. That intro gave me, like, Ori and the Blind Forest vibes.
Love Planet Of Lana too. Mui is just adorable.
You should play Gris and Somerville too ❤
They are similar in gameplay. And have also great music and arts style.
17:59 You needed two. 1 to hold it down and the other to climb to that platform.
Just an fyi Lana and Ilo are siblings! Ilo is the older sister !
immediately I looked up if there was merch, 'cause I was hoping for a Mui plush.... but alas ;-;
I make crocheted plushies! I could make you one if you wanted.
Dang this game is giving me vibes from the game "Inside".
i watched you stream this, and i remember everything up to around 2:06:00 and a little past. i don't remember you finishing the game
lol yup. watched from that point and less than 2 minutes later is where you stopped on the stream. didn't know you continued it
almost forgot i was gonna mention next time i saw one of your vods. i was playing stardew last night and got probably the coolest and yet weirdest thing from a mystery box... 2 more mystery boxes
Im guessing since it was sponsored that they only paid for 2hrs of stream and a video, so she stopped the stream there!
I just saw the short of a stardew streamer and they got 2 mystery boxes out of 1, so you're def not the only one ! It might not be a bug then ?
God bless you for the time stamp 🙌🏼
@@SweetP230 guess you saw the stream as well and wanted to know where to continue. you're welcome
Hi Gab! Very cool game.
The game "Gris" is very similar in playstyle AND has an amazing story. Hopefully you see this comment and give it a try sometime
OMG YES. GRIS IS SUCH A GORGEOUS GAME
This soundtrack will definitely be on repeat for me! Not sure if anyone said it yet, but the melody sounds like the beginning of When You Believe from the Prince of Egypt lol
I really liked this video! The theme reminded me of the Mass Effect series themes of coexisting with mechanics/electronics and what it might mean. The beginning reminded me of Limbo and similar games.Very pretty and loved all the creepy spider things.Great job as always!
God this game and music were beyond gorgeous. Thanks for playing it. Sad about our little horse friend :( I also still wonder who was controlling the original robot rhythm...like who gave the original order to protect the humans that severely. Or was it the AI in the robots that freaked out and changed when the people left earth like a habit that became an obsession for them after they no longer had people to look after. Also wonder where the other Crobus' are and who that old man was that helped us. But overall brilliant game wow.
In my daily series I was recording and showing people my clay art and said ‘Look at that’ and on the same time in your live stream of this game you said ‘Wwwoooww look at thaaat. That’s so coool’. It made my day :)
So cool! I really need to see the hole end of this story! Hope they can make a secuel
You don't need any dialogue for understand this ❤ The emotions you can feel are so warms and sweet. Awesome gameplay Gabs ❤😊🎉
I'm in awe of this. The game, the walkthrough itself, and the editing of this presentation.
Only Inside comes remotely close in this genre for evoking this level of emotion, tension, and story-building without spoken words, IMO. And since
Inside goes a bit 'left at the traffic lights' at the end (although in a good way) I think Lana takes the crown now for this genre.
Such beautiful settings.
Such _beautiful_ , appropriate and stirring music and SFX.
The exquisite graphics, art style, animation and physics were so clever, emotive and realistic that I was lost for words about them throughout.
The plot was an epic achievement in storytelling without words.
The puzzles were probably the low point; although still clever and interesting, they seemed to be there only to add some gameplay to something already astonishingly beautiful. (Maybe this is just a consequence of how rapidly and effortlessly Gabs solved them, though.)
At points I was just so emotionally involved that I had tears in my eyes. (I don't know quite how reactors/streamers like Gabs manage to keep 'on track' at times like this. Probably built of stronger stuff. And not having drunk as much wine.)
And a beautiful, intelligent, entertaining reactor/playthrougher (yes; it's a word now) as well.
And as Gabs mentioned once or twice I think, some of it is "_Soooooo_ Cute!"
What a wonderful game! It had such a great soundtrack, great story and it was so well paced! Thank you for playing it!
The sound design for this game is outstanding! The music is really next level compared to what we get even in most AAA games. HUGE props to the team that made this game.
So excited for this! Baby is sick with a fever so we are snuggled in to watch some much needed Gab therapy! Thank you for this! ❤
Did your editor add an echo to your voice when you first entered the cave and called out “hello, friends?” Because if so the detail was so subtle and frickin amazing
Omg the characters say "marameo" and in Italian it's like a thing kids say while playing that doesn't really mean anything, so I thought "I wonder if this game is Italian?" And then the credits say that the VO was recorded in Italy. It makes so much sense :D great game!
At 13:05 "one more step, I’ll be the farthest away from home I’ve ever been”
good thing it's not spelled backwards
That would be one smelly planet
I exhaled so hard
I actually giggled, good job XD
💀
😆
The robots remind me of the Omnidroids from The Incredibles.
YES me too :D
1:18:19 the sounds of the big water monster sounds like pitched-down baloon squeaks haha
I played this game a while back~ love it~ and I agree about the soundtrack! Beautiful graphics~
What a beautiful game. Not gonna lie had me there at the ending, full on sobbing. 😂 Definitely a must play on my list of games. ❤
i just played this game the other day and without even knowing about this video my first thought was that i really wanna see gab and/or jack play this game. now i really hope jack plays this, its a lot like inside so i feel like he'd love it
Beautiful game and soundtrack. Gab! I think you'd like Harold Halibut, it's a really unique and cool adventure with really cool storyline and characters. It's completely CLAYMATION! I just finished it and it's right up your alley! ❤😺
Absolutely beautiful game. I have tears in my eyes. Gorgeous. Thanks for playing this Gabs.
The music is incredible in this game!! It sounds like pieces I've heard in armenian classical music and also star wars. It really puts me in a feeling of being in a foreign and strange planet.
That moon looks more like a gas giant.
Amazing game. The way the main character moves reminds me so much of Prince of Persia... the animations are so similar. Thank you for the playthrough, Goobers!
I love that this feels like The Last Guardian but on a much smaller scale
This was a beautiful game, I enjoyed watching you play it ❤😊
I absolutely loved this game! Can't wait to see what you think of it.
The robot taking care of the baby reminds me of the movie I Am Mother and its similar concept of AI being a mom
Aaaa i v been waiting for this since the day u went live aaaaa i love this game so much
awe the ending is adorable, love the little kitty guy so cute
This game is just beautiful. Amazing work for the dev. Love it ❤❤
Definitely one of those games where I wish that I could erase it from my memories, just so I could experience it with a blank slate again.
Played this today too!
very fun!
this took me a bit to watch but it was worth it. Such a beautiful game to watch. Also I could never play this game i am not smart enough to figure out most of the puzzles but it was cool watching her do them .
I just bought Planet of Lana from watching this stream haha. Imma play it now even though I have 30+ unplayed games in my queue already haha
26:23 if you like the concept of "death being level two" you should read "The Brothers Lionheart" by Astrid Lindgren. It's a short and easy read and its really good!
this unlocked a memory of me playing that pocahontas game when i was a kid
i love these cozy games, its a nice change to other games ☺
that was an awesome game! i do wish that it wouldve explained exactly WHY the robots were collecting everyone to begin with thoough
Omg I was about to cry when the little friend was running away in the sunrise chase scene
34:40 me and Gab said “too many legs” in unison 😂
i lost count of the many times i cried watching this
"Turns out you accidentally, actually turn the system ON." ......Gabs channeling her Metal Gear Solid (PAL card "disarming" sequence). heh
I had started playing this game last year and I loved it!
The robots stressed me out like crazy tho 😅
What a amazing game! Thanks for the playthrough🥲
Anyone else think that this beautiful music and soundtrack sounds a lot like the Ori games music? Both super amazing and impactful soundtracks!
The melody of the machines reminds me of the first few notes of When You Believe from the Prince of Egypt animated movie soundtrack.
I just finished the game. Wow that was beautiful.
such a beautiful game, genuinely made me tear up
I figured out the melody! I kept hearing it in my head and it kept sparking a memory for me. For me, It sounds like a song from Price of Egypt.
What happened to Banishers? It seems like it has been forever… 😢
I was wondering the same thing...
the soundtrack of this game is so stunning
love the streams!
Have you heard of a game called Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo? It has alot of spooky themes and old traditional folktale stories that might be up your alley while you're solving the mystery!
I've played this game and the music and it's artstyle is really amazing
The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful, Takeshi Furukawa did so well with this game!
I put this on to fall asleep to but it was too interesting 😂
The robot song sounds like the beginning of “When you Believe” from “Prince of Egypt”.
Gab how did you keep from crying at the end when we thought mewie died? I was sobbing!
2:35:55 the music reminds me of the Unnus Annus theme song, "Turncoat" by Michael Rothery
"Stjärnljus" is pronounced close to "Shern-yoos" - it's not exactly right, but close enough for non-Scandinavians. ;-)
Hey gab i think Sean should play this as well so we can get his reaction cause he's just as much of a clown as you are lol keep making awesome content like you always do
Gab should definitely check out eastshade!
Super chill open world game 🌷
Since Mui doesn't like water, maybe a sequel can be Mui falling accidentally into water and start a very dangerous Gremlins effect chain of events, the one he was trying to avoid touching water... or not.
I sad I missed the live stream but I'm excited for a full game
I could not stop wrrying about mui getting captured. I was glued ot the seat and screen hoping miu would make it!! So glad it had a happy ending
Beautiful game. I loved it.
@1:30:57 You keep mentioning the sound track being good.. Maybe Sean will like this too?
This is literally the matrix in a game 😂 The machines harvesting babies and feeding them goo
Can you go back and collect missed shrines? I only got one and I'm too far to collect the first in the beginning..
My fiance played this as part of a focus group! He enjoyed it!
Will you be finishing banishers: ghost of new Eden?
This game is beautiful!
3:20:35 He was a little slow to boot up but then again he runs on a cracked version of the OS
11:05 Bruce Almighty moon ain't got nothing on this
Thanks Gab. Echoing people here, try Gris ❤
In conclusion big ball in the sky needed hard reset
what happened to the banishers playthrough?
