- The UFC moves so fast, with new champions, contenders and fighters making up the rankings. I tried to predict the top 5 in every weight class a year from now, based on how fighters look and my prediction for future fights. Let me know your thoughts on these rankings and if/how you would change them.

The shots Adesanya put on him in that second round would’ve koed people like Strickland and Dricus honestly, it wasn’t his chin being bad, it’s just those strikes were too clean, Izzy also beat him in a decision. Dricus straight up just broke whittaker, with his pressure, yet again, I don’t really think it was his chin.

People overrate Jan for that close fight with Pereira, and they underrate Rakic for his loss to Jiri.
First off, they already fought, and Rakic was winning until the injury, jan lost to ankalaev which was robbed into a draw. Also the Jiri that showed up vs rakic would DESTROY Jan and probably beat pereira too.
Rakic was landing clean KO shots on Jiri and he did not EVEN wobble, if he landed those shots on some other top LHW, they would've gone down. I'd pick rakic over any other LHW apart from ankalaev, pereira and jiri

i see a slight chance of volkov beating sergie via submission. its a risky pick but i dont see volkov staying in the pocket with sergie. hes too much of a veteran for that and hes lost to a lot of sluggers like derek lewis so i dont see him taking that risk. hes been slowly improving as of recent with his second wind as a contender and he just beat tuivasa via submission as well. and to top it off, sergies ONLY loss was against an old, steroid free Overeem, which isnt the best loss, and it was due to the fight getting taken to the ground and then overeem simply mauling sergie to death. I STILL dont think sergie has the best grappling and relies on his power shot to kill his opponents before they shoot takedowns. The way i see volkov winning by is sergie cracking him early on, volkov getting wobbled bad then sergie chasing the finish impatiently, then volkov throwing a feint hook against the fence RIGHT before a quick blast-double takedown. then sergie, both inexperienced on the ground AND being gassed from him chasing that KO, losing his neck to volkov and going out. its a small fucking chance of this happening but that would be interesting as fuck and would completely shuffle your predictions in heavyweight.
