    Very nice. This is the route early explorers took on foot because it was the easiest. Local Maori helped them across river mouths. To go inland in the early 1800s was a trial.

    That beach gravel sounds expensive on the fuel front!
    What were the birds along the beach?
    Seagulls or Black back gulls?

      As soon as you go into low range the fuel economy is gone. And just seagulls I think.

    How do you get in touch with the 4wd club. Have just got a 1992 Pajero and am interested in touching base and pursuing some 4wd stuff and getting some advice?

      We have a main page on facebook with a membership form, South Canterbury 4WD Club. And we meet at Speights Ale House in Timaru on the second Tuesday of each even month eg. Feb, April, June, etc, at 7.30pm
