Thank you so much for making this tutorial. I was looking for a way to convert my old wifi router Tp-Link TL-WR841ND into a WiFi Extender and found your tutorial which was easy to understand. Glad to say it works!!
Thank you very much for that video ! It helped me a lot because I didn't want to spend any extra money for an acdc/power extender, or a usb WiFi antenna. Now I have 2 very powerful routers (from my previous home/work internet connections) and everything works exactly as you demonstrated in the video. Again, thank you !
After all the steps my Internet still didn't work, I was furious to have wasted time at another video. then went to check the main/source router didn't have Internet. Once the main router was fixed all the steps you have given in this video worked like charm. Thank you. Posting this from extended network.
After setting everything and enabling the extender option my router will automatically disable DHCP but after reboot i m not able to connect to the network. It is showing obtaining IP but not connecting. Could you please help here
I have problems with this. Every time I switch off the router and try to reconnect it, it says obtaining up address and does not connect. I have to go through all procedure again and it will work fine... Need your help
When you switch off main router or the extension router? At 02:36 we have shown you that both router needs to be in same channel. Have you done that? That used to be a reason for some people. Whenever main router reboots it changes its channel randomly so we need to keep the channel fixed. If that's not the factor I'm not sure what other things can cause that.
Great useful video. But if I want to change the IP address of the old router, how do I login to a router which is no longer connected and active on the network (I am taking an old router from my storage).
I m following your tutorial, however, when I clicked survey button to look for the main router, it doesn't show and can't find my main router. Kindly advice how to solve this..
I HAVE ARCHER C 5 SUPPLIED BY MY ISP. ON THE TPLINK LOGIN PAGE ,I CAN NOT LOGIN FOR WANT OF CORRECT CREDENTIALS. RESET TO FACTORY SETIING BY PRESSING THE BUTTON WITH A SHARP EDGED MATTER, ON THE BACK SIDE OF ROUTER ,DOES NOT WORK, . THIS ROUTER IS SINCE REPLACED WITH A DUAL ROUTER.NOW I WANT TO USE ARCHER C5 (WHICH IS IDLE NOW) AS RANGE EXTENDER. Any suggestion pls
Thank you! It worked perfectly for tplink archer c5. But after setting up this router as extender, I cannot open this configuration page anymore. I mean, I would have to reset the router to access it. Is that normal?
Yes that is normal. Before resetting, try by turning off both routers then switch on only the Secondary router. This can give you access. If it doesn't you have to reset.
What if your main router is exactly the same model as your extender, in my case I got the same model from the same provider. yes, my two routers are having the same IP addresses. what do you mean by " IF IT SAME AS BOTH ROUTERS SEND IT TO THE OLD ROUTER (2:16) " Thank you in advance!!!
Thx alot brother, it worked like a charm , but I have a small issue, after changing the IP number of the router , I can't login to it , even if I try to use the old IP , it keeps telling me that the IP is not reachable!! Is this normal or I did something wrong?
That's normal as the secondary router acts as modem only. To access the secondary router turn off both the router. Then turn on only the secondary router. Then you can access it. If you can't access it that way, then you will have to factory reset it to access it.
Thanks Mate, Worked perfectly fine
Does it works?
Will I still get signal from the main router aswell?
@@Cwik. this method is needed only when ur not getting signal from main router. You are just extending the wifi range with old router.
This was the best and simplest way to get this to work I watched countless other video's and nothing worked. Thank you so much
Exactly like me watched alot but all of them were using cable and PC which is quite confusing for me.
Thank you so much you're a life saver! I almost bought a wifi extender. It's easy to follow your instructions. Thank you!
We are glad it helped you.☺️
Fortunately I have the same tp link router using as a repeater. Thanks works like a charm.

hi! i was doing like you but no work😥
when i setup must be very close to the main router or it doesn t matter?
tnx for answer my friend🍾
It should atleast be in the range. If it's not in the range it will not work.
After all the settings we have to connect with wifi router or repeater??
Complete step by Step ❤
♥️
Thanks for everything bro🙏🏻

Welkz alot!! U rock too.
I m following your tutorial, however, when I clicked survey button to look for the main router, it doesn't show and can't find my main router. Kindly advice how to solve this..
It can happen if your main router is farther than it's range. Or if there are Many WiFi around you it can be on the bottom or next list.
Thank you friend ❤
Welcome friend 😊
very helpful
Glad it helped
Very nicely explained. Have a quick question. Can I keep the SSID of the secondary router as the same of the primary router? Will that be a problem?
Yes you can. But it's better to give them different names so you can troubleshoot easily if one of them gets issues.
Every time power on/off of main router then I need to do all settings again on extender router... There is any solution for this?
I am facing same problem. Did u get any solution?
I'm using the same method. But there is no disconnection during or off each time.
Thank you
You're welcome.
Ill try this today, hope it will work, thanks
Sure. Best of Luck ! 😊
his is useful.. thanks
@webit tutorials I followed all your steps but I didn't get an option to reboot at the end. Hence, it is not working yet. Please reply asap.
I am using a TP-Link AC 750/Archer C20 router as a repeater/extender.
Please try again from the start.
Please refer to the manual online. If it supports the feature.
I was doing everything correct but I didn't know about disabling DHCP
Thanks for the help 👍
You're very welcome!
After disabling DHCP I am unable to connect to the router with any of the devices. Any fix for that?
Hi. Question can I use any router or has to be TP-LINK?
This tutorial is for tplink. Depends on whether the model of your router supports the function or not.
Will I still get signal from both the main router and the additional one?
Yes.
Can you work your way around setting channels
Without changing channel from main router as i dont have access to password?
No. You will have to redo the whole process in secondary router if the main router reboots and changes it's channel.
Love you hogaya bhai❤

Hi Need help i follow all the steps and its working on my Laptop but when i try to connect with my mobile its show cant obtain IP please help.
I have same problem but it's solve by just set channel no as your main router
After you disabled DHCP server and how can you connect to that WiFi?

Can we extend 5gz network using 2.4 gz old router?
Wirelessly you can only extend 2.4
Thanks 👍

Change one of them so there won't be conflict between two routers.
Bro's old router is newer than my new router
😀
😂😂😂😂😂😂
hi mate, there is no WDG settings on my TPLINK - ARCHER 1600. Please update where can I find it
Maybe it doesn't have the feature.
Please reply, if I made this into a 2nd router can i use wired connection?
Yes you can.
How do i log into my old wifi log in when it has no wifi
You don't?

Ip adrees automatically change on main router.. Plz help.
Please contact your ISP. If the IP changes on it's own.
wow nice thanks
I can see the main wifi SSID through the secondary router, but I don't get any option to connect to them.
Not sure why that happened.
