Piano player - the unbelievable RICHARD TEE, who unfortunately died a while back. He was Paul's piano player for a long time, and was also in Paul's movie One Trick Pony.
Richard Tee, also known as 'Tee' as some have pointed out. No 'Mister' for him, he was one of the sweetest, loving, funny people you ever want to meet. And an incredible musician but that goes without saying.
Richard Tee y'all. A real treat to see him live and doin' his soulful thing here. He did so much great work in the 80's with Paul Simon, Grover Washington Jr., and other big names of the time. With Steve Gadd and Eric Gale were an inseparable and in demand rhythm section. So much talent ! Thanks for the post.
R.I.P Richard Tee. whenever he played the part at :10 they would always laugh...Richard said he would "gospel" it up and paul always got a kick out of it.
+spencer me Problem is really these days without loads of playback, synths, processing and so on most well known artists can't perform. Musicians and their ability to strip back their songs to acoustic instruments just aren't what they used to be. It's sad really! MTV now is more about what car some DJ has just bought rather than putting good music on television.
Yeah... Only know the tune from Larry David but huge fans of these three individually... What an awesome find. Looked up Richard Tee and it brought me here.
Played this song on my Dual turntable on my last day at Mt. A. in 1981. Thirty years went by so fast, it reminds me of looking out the side window of a speeding car at the trees on the side of the road, that's all you see is a blur of images.
Steve just hangs out in the pocket, never gets in the way and just glues the entire performance together. Steve is the master of his domain behind those drums
Even though I am too old to be listening to the Black Keys seemingly, I still do. But songs like this still give a warm glow. It's a little like meeting an old friend and just being comfortable in their presence. That was much dafter that I meant it to sound, but the sentiment remains.
Hooked since listening to simon and garfunkel's greatest hits ( on tape I may add sometimes in a ford Granada), going on family holidays to cornwall in the 70's 80s me and my bro singing like a couple of loons!
Madge Caffertty; madge caffererty she smoked cigarettes in shy. Back steps, madge, waive of a child of god, She never left home her brothers never had a job. far as i knlow. Her mum would lend me mum a fathing on thirsdays- totherrs man paid fridays
...only 'found' this yesterday, sorry folks if I have worn it out; by playing it so many times... Too good not to, sad I cannot find it on my BBC shopping list..(.come on BBC & Mr Simon please....) BUT so glad you shared by posting this;Jasper, many ,many thanks xxx
Whenever its my birthday, I would sing this song, and I would shout to the top of my voice "...STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!" i'm now 56, and still.....never mind, thanks anyway for posting this song
Always, since I first heard Homeward Bound, has the music of Paul and Art, together and apart, been an intrinsic part of my life and this song, sort of sums it all up.
Paul Simon is a great songwriter and a great singer and this is a fabulous interpretation of his masterpiece, "Still Crazy After All Theses Years". The pianist is really good, he made me laugh with a little of "church" at the opening.
Completely sold after listening to this, for the first time one year ago. Thanks jaspernonits, for keeping this on youtube, so that I can keep comming back and listening to this!
I've been trying to leave the "craziness" behind me for many years... But..... It's still with me and ya know what...... I love it! Paul Simon is a legend! Art G. (although the harmony king in his day...) wouldn't lace your boots man!
I still get choked up everytime I hear this- it is like he reached into my soul and pulled this song right out and put it to music- I will always be grateful that there was someone on earth that shared my thoughts even without me ever saying them out loud. What a musical and lyrical genius. I could listen to his music nonstop for the rest of my days on this earth and feel that I gained all the wisdom available to me......
Such a nice beginning with the great Richard Tee who makes this already special intro a bit more special. Paul Simon is a legend but the men who stood beside him all those years; Gadd, Brecker and Tee are part of that legend. Still crazy after all those years.
i love paul simon. I don't know how i resisted asking him for his autograph when he came to our school concert. ( his daughter is in the grade above me). Such a cool guy, really nice too
Richard Tee takes some wonderful rhythmic liberties with this arrangement, and you can see him and Paul smiling about it, as they fit beautifully without the guitar.
A song and a singer/songwriter that I will never grow tired of. Simon is simply a genius--sometimes because he keeps things very simple. This song means more to me now as a 38-year-old than when I first heard it as a kid, and it fits my family to a 't.'
This video turned me almost 30 years ago. Still the same emotions. This song is a classic on its own. Proved that it is timeless. "Still beautiful after all these years". Thank to Paul Simon.
Do not forget of the drummer steve gadd playing such smooth rhythms
Piano player - the unbelievable RICHARD TEE, who unfortunately died a while back.
He was Paul's piano player for a long time, and was also in Paul's movie One Trick Pony.
Steve Gadd is the MAN...but Richard Tee too. RIP Mr. Tee.
This is the best version I have ever heard!!
Richard Tee, also known as 'Tee' as some have pointed out. No 'Mister' for him, he was one of the sweetest, loving, funny people you ever want to meet. And an incredible musician but that goes without saying.
Wow! That pianist is a genius! Josh Turner's version on the guitar is pretty good, yet this 'gospel' arrangement is just gorgeous!
The great, late, RIchard Tee. He was a genius.
really marvellous piano player Richard Tee!!
His entire band from ‘75-82 was entirely composed of musical genius. Gale, gadd, Levin, Tee. Only Zappa had that kind of talent at the time, probably
Best version ever !
Few current songs are melancholy like this.
OMG!
Paul Simon, Michael Brecker, Steve Gadd, and Richard Tee.
Unbelievable!
Straight from the other side of the veil.
I miss my high school days with all those weeds ...............fine weeds!!!
Michael Brecker's solo still takes my breath away, after all these years...
The best there is.
The best there was..
And the best there ever will be.
You are so right!!! :)
Doesn't get any classier, smoother or easier on the ears and soul that this man.
Simply an overflow of iconic artists...perfection..!
WHEN ONE IS NOW 67.........THE WORDS ARE SO TRUE
This pianist is amazing.
I miss Michael Brecker so very much. Love his solo here.
John Archer interesting fact, He did the original solo on the album in 1975!
Hope Paul is around for many more years to come.
sounds great to me 26 years later and recounting
Such a Brilliant Sax Solo from the late great Michael Brecker!! Real New York Sound
R.I.P Richard Tee.
whenever he played the part at :10 they would always laugh...Richard said he would "gospel" it up and paul always got a kick out of it.
awesome comment
Thanks good to know
Wondered what that was about. Great stuff!
Richard was an absolutely stunning player.
The pianist is absolute fire! This is the best version I have heard of this song.
Same guy that played the original version
what a great band, sadly we lost Richard Tee and Michael Brecker on Sax.
unplugged was one of the best programs MTV ever put on the air. i'd like to see it come back. sooooooo many good concerts
+spencer me Problem is really these days without loads of playback, synths, processing and so on most well known artists can't perform. haha, dave. no worries. they'll embarrass themselves off the stage!
RIP Michael and Richard....supreme players. Lord willing, live long Mr. Gadd.
Great musicians at work. Well done.
I turned 63 today...and I am, indeed, still crazy...after all these years.
Still love this 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶 after ALL these years. 💕
Just gorgeous, Thanks for posting
Paul has some serious soul
Paul Simon... still smokin hot after all these years... :)
Great!!!! You made me cry
Just brilliant; probably the best version of this song ever. Anyone recognize a young Chris Botti among all the other amazing artists?
CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stands the test of time!
Paul Simon is such an amazing talent. You have to be great to get three heavyweights like Steve Gadd, Richard Tee, and Michael Brecker in one place.
And Chris Botti on trumpet! He's had an amazing career 😄
Yeah... Only know the tune from Larry David but huge fans of these three individually... What an awesome find. Looked up Richard Tee and it brought me here.
Best Version EVER !!!
Gadd lays it down with real authority on this one...love it!
Oh where have you gone Richard Tee,
A nation turns it's lonely eyes to you...
I have listened to this for 20 years and never get tired of it
thank you Paul Simon for all of your beautiful songs and inspiration over all these years!
Still Great after all these years.
Played this song on my Dual turntable on my last day at Mt. A. in 1981. Thirty years went by so fast, it reminds me of looking out the side window of a speeding car at the trees on the side of the road, that's all you see is a blur of images.
Can we talk about how incredible Steve Gadd is on this performance please!!??
No one has ever come close to replicating a feel like this!
Going to my 35th High school reunion in NY in July; this is our theme song for this party.
What a keyboard player..... Sax player..........now that's music 😍
Hooked since listening to simon and garfunkel's greatest hits ( on tape I may add sometimes in a ford Granada), going on family holidays to cornwall in the 70's 80s me and my bro singing like a couple of loons!
I adore Paul Simon.
This guy, Paul Simon, is someone I am happy to have been able to be in the world to listen to. I feel the same about the Beatles.
rip richard tee
i wish i could get a c.d.of his greatest hits.i love Paul Simon.
The greatest songwriter - his songs are novels, and the music ist fantastic. By the way: Rest in peace Michael Brecker!
I Love It!!! And still crzy after all these years. Thanks Paul Simon.

We is crazy like a fox

Donna C.
Paul Simon is a poet of our age. His music accompanied me most of my life. Still love him after all these years
Was watching to SNL, 40 year anniversary and I couldn't resist
Madge Caffertty; madge caffererty she smoked cigarettes in shy. Back steps, madge, waive of a child of god, She never left home her brothers never had a job. far as i knlow. Her mum would lend me mum a fathing on thirsdays- totherrs man paid fridays
This is an amazing version of a great tune.

Still awesome after all these years..a great track from a true master musician!
Holy crap! Is there anyone in that band who is not a superstar to other musicians?
Thank you Paul :) Bravo
Thank you LORD for this .
Thank you Michael.
I LOVE PAUL SIMON .
Was fortunate to see Paul Simon live in Istanbul last summer. Enjoyed every moment of the concert.
Been listening to this guy since I was 4, back in '68 and I still love him to this very date!
I still love you after all these years.
Always, since I first heard Homeward Bound, has the music of Paul and Art, together and apart, been an intrinsic part of my life and this song, sort of sums it all up.
I've had this.....nostalgia is seductive, but never a guarantee...still fun though!
Great song and what a team! Simon, Tee and Brecker gave a perfect rendition, thanks for posting this gem !!
God bless TEE and Brecker RIP both
Richard Tee ,Michael brecker, Jeff Porcaro, Mike Porcaro and Carlos Vega in my heart !!!Thiago from Brazil !!!🇧🇷🥁
Still touching my heart after all these years......
The older I get...the more I relate. Great version.
Paul Simon it's a genius! Thank's for exist! And Michael Brecker, that "A" overtone makes me feel just LIVE!

Still here after all these years
the man touches the heart!
He sings this song sooo awesome! and the musicians are great 2. thx 4 sharing.
Great to be around this music and the Beatles. Paul Simon is among a small number and this version of the song is outstanding.
I love this so much. A singer and songwriter that makes me feel something is always a part of my life. I am glad that his music is a part of my life.
All of these musicians are headliners! Excellent nuances wherever one listens. A true 10/10 stars
Love this song. Paul Simon is a brilliant songwriter and I love his vocal delivery style.
one word.. EPIC
I've been trying to leave the "craziness" behind me for many years... But..... It's still with me and ya know what...... I love it!
Paul Simon is a legend! Art G. (although the harmony king in his day...) wouldn't lace your boots man!
I was just watching the same episode which lead me to the same place. First time I heard the song. That was cool!
The pianist is Richard Tee, who played on many Paul Simon recordings. Trust me, he wouldn't be there if Paul didn't want him there.
I still get choked up everytime I hear this- it is like he reached into my soul and pulled this song right out and put it to music- I will always be grateful that there was someone on earth that shared my thoughts even without me ever saying them out loud. Holy crap...just to get all of these musicians together is amazing. Then throw in one of Paul's greatest songs, and it truly blows the mind.
Gosh what I love this guy
he´s making my day, every day :)
This video turned me almost 30 years ago. Still the same emotions. This song is a classic on its own. Proved that it is timeless. "Still beautiful after all these years".
Thank to Paul Simon.
We're all attend the church of Paul Simon watching this. That's my mom's favorite part watching him laughing at the beginning.
