- The video shows how I disassembled my Harbor Freight Pittsburgh 12V portable compressor and found debris holding one of the piston valves open and thus preventing the compressor from building pressure.
Looks like they sell replacement Piston rings on Amazon. The harbor freight vernier caliper would tell the exact size. Pretty cool that something like this could be restored over and over.
Thank you. Good lighting and clarity, well done.😊
Thanks for the feedback.
I ran into a similar problem with the wire coming out of the bottom. Relocated it to the top and glued in a switch. They have a few flaws like the plastic hose and odd quick connection. They are pretty good especially for the money.
How old the air compressor before you rebuild it ?
GOOD JOB , THANKS !👍😎
Thanks for the looksee at the innards. I've got the same model, and after being reliable for years, it also seems to have begun not really pumping up to pressure like it used to although it seems to be running well enough. So, I might try the same as you--maybe a little cleaning and oiling will bring mine back too. It seems fairly straightforward.
Thanks for the comment.
@@diywithdave3186 Yeah, it worked a charm and was quite quick to do. I also had go back in to use a little gasket sealant goo to hold the sealing rubbery "o" ring in place beneath that little spring metal check valve doodad held on by the single tiny Phillips head screw. But it's all good now. Thanks again!
@@BilgemasterBill thanks for the feedback and the tip. Glad it helped.
I find that hi-temp plumber's grease works well on the cup-washer or o-ring in a compressor.
Just found your channel love it had to subscribe!
The 2 flaps on top of the piston look like Reed valves... I watched your axle replacement video. Tge video where you replaced the axle & control arm...You were very lucky that the rear control arm bolt was not seized!!!!! Mine were seized on my Pontiac G5 & had to be cut out!!! WHAT A NIGHTMARE IT WAS! Also, when I pulled the axle, a bearing came off with it & there was a gapping hole in the transmission. I forget exactly which side it was but, I think it was the passenger side axle. Now the transmission went out so, I surely hope that the front subframe bolts will come out. The rear subframe bolts are the 2 that attach the rear control arm...P.s. with small air compressors, you never want to run them for longer then 5- 10min at a time...
Thanks for the information. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Thank you for the video.
Praise God .... God bless you bro.
Thank you, God bless you too.
Good job!.
Thumbs up for the Psalm at the beginning. Every knee will bow before Christ the King! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for your comment. Amen!
I could hear you good inside of mycar. Nice and calm while you inspect taking notes on camera even if no one watches your vodeos you would be able to retrace your steps just incase
I have watched many of my videos to refresh my memory. Thanks for the feedback.
If you buy the $10 warranty just swap it out once a year
That's probably not a bad option. It doesn't appear be built to last very long with heavy usage.
Did you try contacting the manufacturer to see if they sell the piston seals?
Audio is really quiet. Just fyi.
Thanks for the feedback.
Eeeeh , can't hear ya.
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry about the poor sound.
