I love it. its the best way in arranging beutiful flowers using sustainable and natural materials. This week is the first time I come across Ikebana. I will set my self to learn Ikebana more. I will watch 3 of your videos every week and try them. I already have kensan. I just need to learn the technique and use other materials. Thank you.
Wonderful!
I inherited my grandmother’s ikebana materials, and happily used her tall vase that she had placed cross bars in, until they dried out in this desert air, and came loose. Now I learned how to replace them, and also how to make an arrangement that reminds me of a heron coming over the water to alight. Lovely!
I'm so glad it was helpful. Enjoy Ikebana!

Thank you so much sensei! My bachan does ikebana still, but with her English not being great, it’s hard to explain all the concepts in ikebana the way you do. I’ve learned so much! My bachan says that in our home village we only ever used this stick method to arrange ikebana, so I enjoy watching you and learning how to do it better. Domo domo!
Hi Danielle,

Hi Akemi ! Thanks for your super nice n helpful tutorials love to watch them , I have a question please that if we break the branch to make it slant for how long can it stay fresh ?
It really depends upon the material. As long as the tip is under water, it should last the same way as the normal branch.
Fantastic videos could you do one on how to use a down stick please. Thank you :-)

Thank you for sharing Ikebana. I´m a beginner, and have been trying different styles following your videos. Which type / variety of branch would you recommend for the cross bars? Likewise which type would you use for Soegi? Best wishes :)
Hi Irene,
Thank you for watching my videos.
For both cross bars and vertical soegi, you can use the same stem that you are arranging. For example, if you are using camellia branches, you can use extra camellia branches.
If you have cut the right size for your container, you may want to keep them so that you can use them for another arrangements.
What's the be best book vintage to new to invest on Ikebana book to be handy as table coffee books ?
You are an exceptional instructor and ikebana creator. Is there any chance that you are going to be creating any new videos? I hope that you know how treasured they are.
Thank you for your kind words. I teach ikebana online. I think the best way to learn ikebana is that you try yourself. Enjoy!
Hi! Thank you so much for this beautiful tutorial. Would like to make you a question, where can I find this kind of vase online? I appreciate your help.
You can search "Ikebana vase" or Ikebana containers"
Good
Thanks
This vase has an inner lip? Is there a place where i can find one? I'd like to try the branches but it looks like the lip supports them next just the tension.

Thank you!
Mam, sorry placing the first bar inside the vase is not clear could you please tell me again in your msg as the second one is more clear . Thank you
The first one you place the angled tip a little down and try to pull upward to make it horizontal to the top of the vase. Does it make sense?
