Just in case the low key sarcasm isn’t detected... i don’t think this test is reliable or accurate and the only way to figure out your personality type is to study the cognitive functions! ~ Nathan
Months ago, the test tried to tell me that I'm an INFJ, now it's trying to tell me that I'm an ISFJ. I'm ISFP, there is no question about it. Based on the cognitive functions, I couldn't be anything else.
Ok. I KNOW you're smart. What the hell were you thinking of jumping in a pool when you can't swim? Smh. Did you at least learn to swim since that's happened? Don't you live in Cardiff? You're right by the sea. You don't go swim in the sea? How do you live by water and not learn to swim?
Siansonea Orande Same! Isfj several times, but I’m obviously ISFP. The big issue I had was how they tried to word things to add value judgments to possible answers. Almost forces you to answer a certain way.
The main problem I see with 16personalities is that instead of trying to understand your cognitive processes it looks for more surface level traits. Something people tend to mistake about MBTI
Yeah. It's a point system and I disagree with that. They're trying to turn what should qualitative analysis into quantitative. I've tried explaining this to people before but many tend to swear by it.
now that I've been reading Jung's original work (including the real functions and stacks), I'm sure that Frank is ENFP (NeFe) and Nathan is INTJ (TiNi).
I feel like you get to know a lot more about the personality type of someone by analyzing the way they are approaching the questions, rather than the answers they click. Many people have a different interpretation of the meaning of certain questions/statements, therefore answering them differently to what the creators implied. A test like this can't see the thought process, that leads you to answering in one way or another. That concludes in it not being very reliable, given that the answers also may vary depending on many factors on a day to day basis (current mental state, the way you want to be seen etc.).
I've found it very accurate. I'm an INTP and I get INTP every time I take it on this site and almost all the others. Really interesting that so many people find it inaccurate. I will say that the questions have to be answered in the right context, which the survey doesn't necessarily provide.
Don't be so sure every mbti test says I am INTP but went to a professional on cognitive functions and they say I am ENTP which easily a commonly type as INTP on tests
I’m INTP, but on 16 personalities it’s a 50/50 coin flip of ISTP/INTP Every other trait is basically identical, I’m just 40/60 - 60/40 on intuitive - observant depending on the day, mood, or time.
Exactly, I am an INFP and I always got INFP. I believe personality test is hard for others because subconsciously people lie to themselves or don't even fully understand themselves yet so they pick things they want to see themselves as and that make sense which is why personality test is honestly not for everyone. To take a personality test you have to be very honest and aware about yourself and need to know what makes you the most comfortable.
Your answers made me think INTJ tbh. I guess you're just a very rare functional INTP (unlike me). All that talk about planning ahead and sticking to it, taking the initiative to talk to people and your work style being organized and consistent. All of those would swing to the extreme of the opposite direction for me. :D
If you are an INTP how do you stick to your goals and plans? I'm an INTP and never get anything done before the distraction monster shows up. Long term goals are a constant, usually abandoned, battle.
@Luce M A little. To be honest, I suspected, but committed only when CSJ also typed him ENTP. So I'm less unique and more subscribing to a different, in my opinion superior school of thought.
@Luce M My opinions, to be clear, are my own and separate. I'm not a sycophant or a yes man, and my conclusion of ENTP for Nathan is one I reached on my own. It seemed intellectually dishonest, however, to pretend this conclusion was uninspired. And to be frank, most MBTI communities are absolute dogshit and hate CSJ because he calls them out for it. That's my view anyway.
I feel you. I care about things that other people don't care. They are often angry or at least baffled when I don't panic at things or situations when they think I should. On the other hand, I panic at things other people dismiss. So they think I was overreacting. It's so tiring being an alien.
I honestly thought you would get INTP. You are very good at explaining complex things in a way people can understand them easily. You also seem like someone who wants to understand how things work - but not only how these things work, the concepts behind them as well. I can sense a kind of spontaneity in your videos too. Edit: you (almost) got me fooled here. 😂🤣
I relate to your thoughts on boredom, I find there's always something to do! As for daydreaming, I often do it either because it's pleasurable or in order to procrastinate... not really out of boredom.
It's funny, when I first took the 16Personalities test I got INFP, but almost everyone I know says I'm way more likely to be on the Fe/Ti axis. Once I discovered Enneagram, I knew I had to be INFJ 5w4
I do wish that more mbti like assessments would go directly to function stacks, as they are more informative. The mbti perfers that there be an assessment administraitor (like myself) to help a person interperate the results and analyze the accuracy. The 16 Personalities assessment (yes, assessment, not test, because it can not quantify how much of a trait you have), is still one of the best intros to the mbti that I have found. Used to use it a lot in my undergrad for group work as a means for starting in depth conversations about members on who they are and what their work style is. It's free, easy to use, aesthetically pleasing (which, unfortunately, matters) and fun for beginers. It's also packed with information, (some should be interpreted with a grain of salt) but it can open your eyes to the breadth of research conducted about the mbti personality types.
0:59 "I always know where I'm going, even though I'll be late" 2:44 "I always make a good impression" Those are the most relatable lines in the entire video!
It seems like it's the Big 5 personality test using the mbti letters for SEO; hence that they added a fifth letter i.e. A/T. It's causing a hell of a confusion and I wonder why they haven't been sued by those holding the rights to mbti.
Because they technically made a disclaimer that they were neither MBTI nor using cognitive functions, but not in an exactly easy to reach place for the average website goers www.16personalities.com/articles/our-theory To quote them: We use the acronym format introduced by Myers-Briggs for its simplicity and convenience, with an extra letter to accommodate five rather than four scales. However, unlike Myers-Briggs or other theories based on the Jungian model, we have not incorporated Jungian concepts such as cognitive functions, or their prioritization. Jungian concepts are very difficult to measure and validate scientifically, so we’ve instead chosen to rework and rebalance the dimensions of personality called the Big Five personality traits, a model that dominates modern psychological and social research.
in every test i took it's always INTP. i got ISTP once and started researching the cognitive functions. i learned a lot abt the pacific theater of ww2. so i guess i AM an intp. 🤷🏻♀️
While you was filling your test I was thinking that there is NO WAY you could be a INTP. Things like "having a methodical approach to life" or "entering easy into a conversation" are definitively ODD for an INTP. I find the test quite accurate if you really know you more. I used to get INTJ for a while but after researching internet and myself, I noticed that I am not a good planner neither I live to be one. Since then I have get INTP consistently in different surveys.
I've gotten INTP twice and INFP once. I was watching him answer the questions and on about 70% of them I would've answered them way differently. He just doesn't strike me as similar to myself with his answers so it's hard to imagine he's an INTP.
Disagree. Some INTPs can easily enter into a conversation, most of the time they don't want to though, because the topic is not interesting. Sometimes INTPs can enter a conversation that doesn't interest them with an intention to stir some sht.
Oh my dear Lord of the Bots, I almost choked on my tea. The image of an ENTP pursuing you and throwing unexpected questions and conversations at you surreptitiously formed in my mind while listening to you. Thank you for the unexpected chuckle 🤭
Well, i started out my MBTI research by testing myself online, the first one appeared was from 16 personalities. I typed as INFJ. I researched more, try every other web that offer the test and still typed as INFJ. I read everything i could find about MBTI and i did learn about the cognitive functions by read all posts, articles, journals i could find about it, and i really do feel i am an INFJ. So i guess the 16personalities is quite accurate for me.
I always get INFJ-T on this test. After proper research I can say that I’m definitely not one. I’m an INTJ-T. What made me confused at first was the way an INFJ-T can be mistaken for an extrovert. I’m generally good with people and usually liked by them, but I do know that a lot of times when I talk to people it’s more out of politeness and not interest
It does have one thing in its favour: at least it uses a sliding scale instead of two binary choices, which is one of the main criticisms against traditional MBTI tests.
For what it's worth and coming from an INTP: I'm really sure Nathan is an INTJ. I've thought this for a while and never really felt like YoutTube-commenting on it would be an effective way of making a case for something as confusing as MBTI types, but this video seems like as good a place as any to discard of my opinion so it stops nagging me.
@@dumbledalfthewizard9486 I don't feel very much of an Ne vibe in him, especially Ne dom. I see more of Ni, and I am actually also surprised from his answers which do not seem to fit INTPs
I knew the results gonna turn out to be istj , but who knows u may not be answering that accurately but from the way u answered the questions I knew it’s gonna be an istj
From the way you were justifying your answers I would guess between INFJ or INTJ, but I wasn't really sure which one. But I also don't know much abt MBTI yet. Could be INTP with developed Si and Fe, I guess I still mess up Ti and Fi sometimes.
4:55 I have the exact same experience. I got a sense of supreme calmness during the initial Corona pandemic panic where everyone was just nervous. Maybe some people are born to be ready to answer the call of uncertainly.
I've always said that I know I am an INTP not just because of cognitive functions, but I also have a nagging skepticism in my head of "what if I'm not?". However, whenever I look at types that I could be instead of INTP, I always come up with INTJ (16p gave me this result, however I took it 2 years prior and got INTP), ISTP, and ENTP. Notice how all of them are a 1 letter difference to INTP. That's why I have concluded that I am an INTP.
If everything is going well, I do get the weird paranoia about 'maybe I'm missing something'. Something's up, and I just haven't found it out yet. I feel calmer under pressure.
So fun to learn more about you! For me several online tests have given INFJ and find it accurate but one in the past gave me ENFJ - must have felt more people friendly back then :D
i think these tests can only be accurate for people who are a) stable, mentally mature (no matter the age) and b) know about hidden meanings behind actions and about psychology in general. i started typing correctly after those in every test i could find. i've always been an ESTP, but teenage-YA-brain mess confused these topics a lot, thus giving me results like INFP, INFJ & ENFP before maturing & learning. i guess there was my outward influence on having those types as best friends for years. now as an adult, it's very clear how my brain functions and who i definitely am not. irl no one questions my type either, but online i can still see my N-based writing style influencing some. whatever, i'm just an ESTP who's read and read a lot of books/articles/forums and listened to a lot of podcasts/essays/tedtalks/whatever. doesn't make me any more intuitive in the sense of using Ne/Ni. i love experiencing the outside world, partying for hours is no biggie for me and often the most fun, but when it comes to relationships, all things known as "Se activities" are just hollow without deeper understanding of people you're experiencing them with.
@@drwizarrd4421 I don't really like that particular test too 😂 I just find a lot of his answers are drastically different than mine but obviously, that doesn't make him not an INTP.
@Luce M Te users are more prone to find things to be obvious (though what they find obvious quite often is not only not that obvious, but wrong). Ne users tend to find everything ambiguous and not that obvious. The Ti sentences would be: "it makes sense" and "it doesn't make sense". That being said, a sentence is something we have learned that doesn't necessarily show how we thing. When giving an opinion a thinker could say "I feel that" while a feeler could say "I think that". Because that's how they where taught to express their opinions.
@Luce M I wasn't even using streotypes. I was talking about cognitive functions. Answering the complite oppisite thing to what beinfg an INTP is, is not a matter of. differences in a specific type, and it's at least worth mentioning. I'm not 100% sure of his type being INTJ but he doesn't seem to be an INTP to me. And you not giving any argument in favour of him being an INTP is not going to make me change my oppinion that's for sure.
Also, I do get an accurate typing from this test, NOW, but have put a ridiculous amount of energy into finding my type, including ruling out, possible alternatives for 5 1/2 years. The tests are not the problem for me, it’s realistic self-perception when taking the tests. I think that varies from type to type and I would not want to be a high Ne type, taking a test like this. -ESTP
Okay but for an INTP your organization and self-control skills are on another level... I really got impression you could be an INTJ, but then you answered some questions in a way that made me think your Fe skills are incredible so I thought you might be an INFJ... Because seriously as an INTP I am confused 🤣
The options in that website(and many others)are so obvious. I almost always know how my choices will effect my outcome and end up getting what i want everytime. And so by that, i am INTP,INFJ,ENTP,ENFP all at the same time. Though in reality. Im An xNTP. So guys i recommend that if you are serious... Get yourself professionally typed. And also Thanks for reading this comment.
Yes! I can generally feel on edge or worried on any given day, but if the people around me are nervous or fearful I also find I feel oddly calm!! Very calm in an emergency (but have a panic attack trying to get out of the house sometimes 😄)
You look INTJ or INTP. I see more Te, logic is fairly objective, and you seem very organised and orderly. Ne is also there as although you do tend to go to in depth on one topic, I just can't see a non-visionary Ni dom, also because you tend to give extremely abstract examples while an Ni dom usually cuts to the chase and makes it as crystallized, (yet still conveying it's greatest essence) as possible. Based on the people you know and how you describe things it seems fair to assume that you remember the core details(even remembering the jokes, the people you meet and the exact words they said) so maybe Si. Fe inf seems very obvious, Ti can be there as your analytical and it seems like you seek consistency. For INTJ arguments: You said you didn't like talking without achieving a goal nor do you and even described at as time wasting and sounded like you liked actionable and impactful ideas(Ni + Te). I don't (se)e, most well represented type on your channel is INTJ, Fi seems to be there when I saw that video about "MBTI is BULLSH*T" and you have agood understanding of Fi.
I’ve done that test several times every now and then, and mostly got ISTJ (which after learning more about mbti and cognitive functions I find to be precise) though the results may change due to ones mood at the time, as I’ve also gotten INFP as a result
Haha! This test! 😂 Oh boy. “Isn’t he the guy who overthrew...us.” That one made me laugh! But it was fascinating to learn about you and your thought process! There is much I could relate to as well in how you approach things. I too tend to feel more calm when people are panicking, vs feeling more anxiety if everyone else is calm. But it is interesting to see your approach to tasks, which I think are unusual for an INTP. As I think it is confusing everyone about your type. 😉
Nathan,I love how you think. You are very insightful and entertaining.Love from Canada.ps.I have taken multiple MBTI tests and have had family members answering the questions for me.They have all come up INFJ.
Oh my God when you said that you feel weirdly calm when people are nervous and that when people are calm you get restless….🤯 that is just me. I don’t think i have ever been fully conscious of it though. Im very good at crisis and calming people down and taking action in kaos. Im an ENFP, i feel calm because I know i can rely on my abilities, im positive that things will always be well even if the outcome wasn’t what was anticipated… and I don’t like monotony and contentment… crisis bring change. I like change. I feel that life is like real in those moments. I can’t put my finger on it….but that is so me. Maybe in a different way than you but its funny when there is a crisis (it can be a small crisis like….ups we have 50 people more than expected for the party…) and there are just a few other couple people that look calm and happy like myself . I actually became a birth doula because labour feels like that to me. I can never get enough of those hard, real, beautiful and miraculous moments.
Oh... THAT website. I remember that one, the popular one for some reason. The one that also typed me as an ISTJ. Except in my case, it was only 2% off (51% S, 49% N). My memory for little details is crap and my room looks cluttered even when everything is organized. Oh yeah, I'm totally an ISTJ too. Um... yay, tradition & rules.
The video was fine, but if I were you I'd invest in some noise reduction for your voice recording. It would make it a much smoother viewing experience.
Nah, i am an intp and his answers are the opposite of what an intp would answer. And we are very stereotypical as a group. There is more in common between us than between many other mbti types.
I think he's an INTP too. Being that we see his edited videos, we're seeing a more organized projection of him. I think this is what leads others to suspect him to be INTJ.
@@dacksonflux not intp. At all. Some similarities ofc and i think i'd get along with him, but i really do not think he is. Might be intj. Perhaps. But there were some big choices in there that tell me straight up he isn't an intp.
The first time I took this test I got the ISTJ result, as well. It turns out I resonate much more either with INTP or INTJ, so I wouldn’t say that this test is entirely accurate.
The problem with this test is that it often asks about your behaviors, but there are many underlying reasons why any given person would do any certain behaviors. It is more WHY do you do those behaviors that matters. It is about how your brain works. The other problem with a test like this is that one day you might answer one way and another day answer a question differently. Another problem for me is that the questions aren't specific enough. It depends. There are lots of variables. I can't tell you how often I have to put "neutral" because half the time I might do one thing and half the time I do the other. I can tell you I'm not *that* balanced of a person... or am I? I'll never know. My behaviors may make me look like I'm balanced, but I'm constantly overcompensating for the ways I am lacking in my natural personality. Anyone can "overcome" personality traits to an extent and act in a way that is counterintuitive. But is it exhausting to do so? Yes. I'm INTP, btw, and I finally figured out my personality type after studying how the cognitive functions work. I always typed as ISTJ and ISFJ on the mbti. ISFJ makes sense because ISFJ and INTP have the same top 4 cognitive functions just in a different order, and being codependent, growing up with an alcoholic mother, I seemed to always have a pretty high Fe. Only the thing is, it's forced and I'm awkward. And if everyone disappeared from the face of the planet, I would be relieved. Whereas an ISFJ gets all their value from helping people, I do not seek out people to help, but feel obligated when a person presents their problem to me. It is nice when I actually feel like I have helped someone, but I'd rather just be left alone if at all possible. Also, I've done a bit of studying of Objective Personality, which I'm not so sure about at this point 100%, but a lot of it does make sense. Having masculine Si and being a thinking/logical type makes it not super surprising that I can type as ISTJ. But I'm definitely not ISTJ. I grew up in a family of almost all intuitives and I saw myself as much more responsible, reliable, dependable, and organized than them. So when I answered the questions, I came from that viewpoint, comparing myself to the rest of my family. But when I compare myself to the rest of the real world, I am definitely not an ISTJ. I think I'm just an adaptable INTP.
I only use the extreme agree or disagree in select cases. I usually choose the options closer to the middle. Also I would have answered the one about relying on others to initiate conversations differently and now I’m not sure. Because I would have agreed because I’m very unlikely to start conversations so it’s usually up to someone else to do it. But on average I am more comfortable when I am the one that started the conversation
This was very interesting! The test told me I was INFP, though like you said, this of course isn’t an accurate measure for which type you are. I’m still trying to figure out whether I’m ISFJ, INFJ, or INTP 🤡🤡🤡🤡👵🏻🦠 Your vídeos have been literally WAY more helpful than anyone else’s and I’ve found myself trusting your input way more, so thank you!! 💗😳
I think this test represents more the way you act (or want yourself to act) than your actual cognitive functions. It's no surprise that this test can vary during lifetime and between cultures. My whole family got INFJ on that test but I cannot convince myself that we were all the same!!! After studying the cognitive functions, I think I was an ENTP since childhood who learned to act like an INFJ to fulfil the social expectations around me. (The society I'm in values empathy too much) Now I have to spend a lot of time convincing my ENFJ boyfriend that I'm an ENTP deep inside hahaha.
I find it accurate for an intuitive like me. But my poor Se dominant partner just spent 2 years thinking they're Ne dominant because the test has such a strong bias towards typing people intuitives. I just found a test on a site called mistype investigator and it's excellent. It uses the cognitive functions and gave me a much more interesting report. It ranked all the cognitive functions with percentage ratings for me. It then gives the same for all the types. It helped explain me so much better.
The moment i read the tittle i’ve got “INTJ or ISTJ and sort of” in mind. Like you’re SOOOOOO similar to my crush like he’s an INTJ and he would say very logical things and concern a lot about his future and a detail oriented person. It just feels like it when i know you’re DA LOGICIAN :))))
Very intersting to listen to! Based on your answers and my impression of you, I would consider you as an INTJ- you could see that the the stacks result were very even between T and F and and N and S.
I just took the Michael caloz mbti test and I got equal part infp and enfp, I was a little confused seeing infp at first because I'm not really introverted at all but I'd say it offers way more insight than 16 personalities for sure 👍 thanks for letting me know about it
Let me toss out my random thought. INTX. Enneagram 3 mixed with that makes sense to give that extra dose of goal orientatedness(👀) and extravertness in being able to approach people. 3 has 2 and 4 as wings, to give you more awareness of other's feelings and some creativity.
So funny that I'm pretty sure I'm basically the opposite type from Nathan (daydreaming, for me, is not a sign of boredom but a sign that I'm awake and not night-dreaming), but I also feel calm under pressure and nervous in the absence of pressure.
I feel like some people don’t find it accurate because the only press massively disagree or massively agree but unless ur on the extreme end of 1 I think u should be pressing the parts in between.
I think you answered one of the questions backwards, which means you may have done so on some of the others. If you’re not an “NT” type, I’m not either.
I took the exact same test and it typed me exactly the same as you- ISTJ; but I am not an ISTJ at all, I am actually an INTP. And I know this based on the ridiculous amount of research I've done since. I wouldn't trust that test, there is something not being calculated correctly.
No matter the website i take the test in, the language i pick, i always type as INTP and i've read enough about everything to know this is correctly typed for me.
I said to myself, he has to be intuitive, he's definitely a thinking type... and he comes off as introverted. I thrust the idea of INTJ. But then I headed to the personality database. INTP. Then I realized, wait a minute, I sense greatly flexible Ne in him. He's definitely INTP. On a subject about chromesthesia, (a type of synesthesia) I sense red magenta vibes from him, electric blue (aqua, green?), cream yellow, bright purple. (No orange what-so-ever.) Then earthy tones on the flip side. And sure enough, he loves using bright pink and other bright colors in his artwork.
I am very confused about my personality. Sometimes i suite everything... I know that im am an I-XXX but nothing else further...how can i found out it ?
Think about the first five different things you think of when I tell you to think about a table and write them. Down. Think about the first five other things that come to mind when I tell you the colour red. (don't cheat, say the exact things that came to mind first). If I tell you to think about your past what do you imagine? Hiw do you view it?
Lol. I took the test too and also got ISTJ even though I answered a lot of questions differently. As much as I love the ISTJ type I am definitely not one. Also I think a lot of those questions are asking about things you can change, for example thinking about conversations from the past . . . that's just a bad mental habit that can be improved with some effort. So is that really a personality trait? Also some questions seem to be more about self confidence - any type can have self confidence or not. I could pick this apart some more but I'll restrain myself. This was a fun exercise!
I can vouch for that you are an INTP if: You took the test many times Has seen many psychologist explaining different function And seeing everything about the different types.
Okay y'all, here's my take. Bear with me here. For reference, I'm an ENTP, the type I think Nathan is as well. Let's go though several arguments, shall we? First, visual typing. Nathan wears a hard black. That indicates NTP. Ne users with little Se tend to wear black, but NFPs tend to be softer in appearance, in my experience. First dichotomy- Ne-Si or Ni-Se. To me, this is fairly straightforward. Nathan dresses for Si comfort. The quality of his videos (just sittin' in a chair) and his answers indicates he doesn't much care about the Se impression he gives off as long as he's understood. In one answer, he mentions that calculation of Ne consequences is barely a thought, it's so easy. That screams Ne Hero/dominant to me. Even INPs choose to use their Ne, rather then have it be a background process, the way ENPs have to choose to turn on their Ti/Fi. You could argue he has Ni goals, but I think that's just an argument for having stronger Ne than Si (because Ni is higher in the shadow) because if Nathan was an Ni user his long term planning would be stronger. He clearly mentioned in the video he can't predict his future. That's very much an Ne I'll go where the wind takes me kind of sentiment. I really don't see a good argument for Nathan being a Ni-Se user or even a lower Ne user. Every single question, he would analyze the Ne possibilities of what the question could mean and then play devil's advocate with himself. I mean c'mon. Second, Ti-Fe vs. Fi-Te. First off, Nathan's detached air is associated with the detached brain state mentioned in Dario Nardis section on Ti. The function literally cuts off emotion while it thinks. He also works Ti deductively rather than Te inductively, by which I mean he prefers to start with a big picture and logically peel off bad options rather then argue for a good option to reach a big picture. Think of it as going step by step, or making negative arguments rather than positive ones. He also cares little for Fi identity and isn't much concerned with his Te image. So clearly Ti-Fe. At this juncture there's really two options: ENTP and INTP. There are a lot of little signs pointing to ENTP I'll point out. For example, he reasons out loud before he knows the solution, while INTPs tend to ruminate in silence and then explain if asked. Far more damning still is his fundamentally irrational character. According to Jung, there are irrational sensing and intuition axis, and rational feeling and thinking axis. Your 1st and 4th function make up your identity, and your 2nd and 3rd how you interact with people. Nathan makes decisions from his heart, fundamentally. He's aesthetic first and philosophical second, Ne and Se forming the Aesthetic perspective and Fi and Ti forming the philosophical perspective. Additionally, he tends to initiate conversations and is okay at parties. He goes and talks to people and feels no anxiety doing so. This man does not have inferior Fe. The thing about wearing armor INTPs do way less. Also, Nathan is very wry and ironic, and likes to play with truth in that way. INTPs are more straightforward in my experience. ENTPs imply the truth; INTPs just tell you. Vice versa for looking at possibilities. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. He's an ENTP.
Ok firstly, I read "Nathan's detached air" as "Nathan's detached ass" so thanks for the laugh. As for the Ne argument, I don't think you should take his words that seriously. The thing about Ni and Si is that, many people that are Ni or Si dominant users, actually think they are having trouble with those functions. As an Si dom myself, I sometimes even get angry for not being able to organize, say, my kitchen cupboard in a way that I can fit everything close to the place where I will use it frequently (e.g. the salt on the cupboard right above the stove). For a long time I thought Si was the function I struggled with, and failed to notice I use it 24/7. Nathan says he's not a thorough planner, but he set his eyes on this channel and kept being persistent on getting Luanne to make more videos. It might be that his goal was bigger than that, I guess I'll never know, but anyway, he achieved it. At a live chat when talking about the history of how they met, he said that at some point he was content because the channel had already grown to what he wanted it to. He said he wasn't a planner but then again on another question he said that it's very rare for him to do any activity that he hadn't intended for the day. He might think that he doesn't have a long term vision, but no human can know exactly what will happen and how.
If someone is smart like Nathan people tend to assume that he must be N. I don’t understand this bias. ISTJ seems plausible, but he strikes me more as an impish ISTP. I love the idea of actually having an ISTJ or ISTP talking about MBTI on youtube rather than just another INTJ or ENTP. The over-emphasis on popular types is getting boring.
I've never mistyped on this test and I use it to take the test in my character's heads and find out their types lol. I will say though it's very surface level and I've deeply enjoyed further exploring and understanding the cognitive functions and it's actually allowed me to more easily and accurately guess my character's and people's types as well. Wondering if anyone could type me from this comment LOL.
Just in case the low key sarcasm isn’t detected... i don’t think this test is reliable or accurate and the only way to figure out your personality type is to study the cognitive functions! ~ Nathan
The CS Joseph type grid seems pretty spot on when I ran through it with myself and a few friends, and it takes about 2 minutes!
Wow, you just made a lot of ISTJs happy anyway.
Instead of testing for the functions is tests for the traits. It’s basically a big 5 test with mbti names for things
Yeah. It's a point system and I disagree with that. They're trying to turn what should qualitative analysis into quantitative. I've tried explaining this to people before but many tend to swear by it.
SORT: Personality true, they even have it a s a rule to not talk about certain systems in the forums
Then what test should I take? I thought 16personalities was like the main thing that everyone/everything is based on.

That concludes in it not being very reliable, given that the answers also may vary depending on many factors on a day to day basis (current mental state, the way you want to be seen etc.).
exactly, i think this is one of the major flaws with the test, along with ofc, its surface-level design on interpreting mbti.
I've found it very accurate. I'm an INTP and I get INTP every time I take it on this site and almost all the others. Really interesting that so many people find it inaccurate. I will say that the questions have to be answered in the right context, which the survey doesn't necessarily provide.
Depends on how "balanced" you are-- I'm ESTP according to cog funcs, but I get random sh*t like INTP/ISTP/ESFP/ENTP all the time on there.
Don't be so sure every mbti test says I am INTP but went to a professional on cognitive functions and they say I am ENTP which easily a commonly type as INTP on tests
it only gives you accurate results if you act like your type.
I’m INTP, but on 16 personalities it’s a 50/50 coin flip of ISTP/INTP
Every other trait is basically identical, I’m just 40/60 - 60/40 on intuitive - observant depending on the day, mood, or time.
He isn't an INTP
And thus cannot show you any light
@Luce M ENTP. And that's also what he typed himself.
@Luce M People are so dumb. There are actually people in this comments section calling Nathan an ITJ. Its ridiculous.

Because they technically made a disclaimer that they were neither MBTI nor using cognitive functions, but not in an exactly easy to reach place for the average website goers www.16personalities.com/articles/our-theory
To quote them:
We use the acronym format introduced by Myers-Briggs for its simplicity and convenience, with an extra letter to accommodate five rather than four scales.

Regardless of your "true" type, I'm happy you got this result because it means I'm in great company!
I sometimes get ENFJ on there but that's because I'm quite the ambivert. I definitely am an INFJ.
Me and my brother both noticed this. We are so ready for life to finally present something challenging. My sister and mother-panicked and anxious.
That's why I have concluded that I am an INTP.

i think these tests can only be accurate for people who are a) stable, mentally mature (no matter the age) and b) know about hidden meanings behind actions and about psychology in general.
i started typing correctly after those in every test i could find. i've always been an ESTP, but teenage-YA-brain mess confused these topics a lot, thus giving me results like INFP, INFJ & ENFP before maturing & learning. i guess there was my outward influence on having those types as best friends for years. now as an adult, it's very clear how my brain functions and who i definitely am not. irl no one questions my type either, but online i can still see my N-based writing style influencing some. whatever, i'm just an ESTP who's read and read a lot of books/articles/forums and listened to a lot of podcasts/essays/tedtalks/whatever. doesn't make me any more intuitive in the sense of using Ne/Ni. i love experiencing the outside world, partying for hours is no biggie for me and often the most fun, but when it comes to relationships, all things known as "Se activities" are just hollow without deeper understanding of people you're experiencing them with.

Also, I do get an accurate typing from this test, NOW, but have put a ridiculous amount of energy into finding my type, including ruling out, possible alternatives for 5 1/2 years.
For INTJ arguments:
You said you didn't like talking without achieving a goal nor do you and even described at as time wasting and sounded like you liked actionable and impactful ideas(Ni + Te).
I don't (se)e, most well represented type on your channel is INTJ, Fi seems to be there when I saw that video about "MBTI is BULLSH*T" and you have agood understanding of Fi.

There is much I could relate to as well in how you approach things. I too tend to feel more calm when people are panicking, vs feeling more anxiety if everyone else is calm.
I think I'm just an adaptable INTP.
idrlabs has the best online self-tests I’ve encountered and their design has everything to do with the function stack.
Now we eventually know Nathan's type

I think you answered one of the questions backwards, which means you may have done so on some of the others. If you’re not an “NT” type, I’m not either.
I knew it! Lol, I wonder what this test would tell Lu she is. I feel like she’s taken silly tests before? Maybe I’m making that up.
Is this satire? I genuinely cant tell
I took the exact same test and it typed me exactly the same as you- ISTJ; but I am not an ISTJ at all, I am actually an INTP. And I know this based on the ridiculous amount of research I've done since. I wouldn't trust that test, there is something not being calculated correctly.
The way I'm always typed under INFP/ISFP on 16personalities but it's either INTP/INTJ on other websites.
No matter the website i take the test in, the language i pick, i always type as INTP and i've read enough about everything to know this is correctly typed for me.
Yes I definitely could see either intj or entp
Nathan, you impish INTP, you ain't fooling anyone. Here is a comment and a like to support future pondering sessions on this channel :)
I took the same test and it gave me ENTP, and I completely agree with the result. On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that everyone will get right type
But I was super convinced you were an INTJ!
I mean - come ON!
I mean obviously not
Cant you see the ne coming off in waves?
@@dumbledalfthewizard9486 I can't.
@Luce M maybe you haven't seen an INTP before. Lol not his way of thinking, nor his answers, nor his body language points towards INTP. He is an INTJ.
@Luce M where can I see those convos so I can see what you are saying?
@@Ignasimp His body language points towards movement, which also fits ENTP.
I can vouch for that you are an INTP if:
You took the test many times
Has seen many psychologist explaining different function
And seeing everything about the different types.
Traits are not same as action. But unfortunately today's personality tets more often depends upon Actions of that particular person.
Long comment. I didn't read it
"Let's go through several arguments"
ENTP status confirmed.
Can you tell me which types read this long comments?
@@trollloloololooo ... INTP. I enjoyed reading it.
You strike me as either an istj, intp, or intj…hard to choose between those
I got INTP on this test and it is 100% true in my case.
