  • In less than 12 months:
    - Plastics have begun to literally fall apart
    - Factory tires had two flats and tread completely wore down to slicks
    - Master cylinder cap began to leak
    - Complete failure of the front brake system
    - Front differential drain plug stripped due to being at an odd angle
    - Persistent overheating put the machine into limp mode while riding normal trails
    - Engine burns oil and requires frequent checks of oil level
There's no telling what the next 12 months hold in store. #canam #atv #offroad

im not reading replies because i dont care to argue, but this guy has seemingly been biased from the start. i have had a outlander 570 for 4 years now. i ride it hard at times with lots of full throttle, wheelies and mild jumps. it is used a lot to pull a loaded atv trailer as well. its been in dust, mud, water, snow and ice and not a single issue. my only complaint is the maintenance is a little more time consuming, but not bad when you get the right tools (sockets and extensions for example) and procedures. all my can-am machines have held up well, which i cant say for polaris, but not many could right? my renegade 570 was ridden just as hard in the same conditions, no issues. i had several other bombardier (can-am) products and they all held up excellently. i remember this guy complaining about "brittle plastic" imo its as stout as any! a average weight man (which im not) could possibly stand on a fender and not break it, i couldnt say that for my grizzly. not even watching this, the description was enough. anything can break from any manufacturer, but this guy seemed poised not to like this quad from the beginning.

Since the original outlander 800 in the mid 2,000’s Can-Am ATVs have always been the leader in performance. Because of that the
rider who purchases a Can-Am tends to be more aggressive, ride them harder, and in many cases abuse them. When that happens parts break, items wear out quicker, and the machines just don’t last as long. You can tell me until you’re blue in the face about how great Honda‘s are, how they last forever, and they never break. In my experience Hondas are slow, don’t handle as well, and are harder to ride at a more aggressive pace. I have owned Can-Am’s since 2006 and they’ve been just as reliable as the Hondas that I’ve owned previously but they sure do ride, handle, and perform a lot better!

I dont know what you to do all these machines/tires etc to have the problems you have. I bought a new 2017 Outlander 570 XT in 2017. It has been absolutely flawless. That radiator tells the story. I never put mine in deep mud and cleaned it after every ride. My 5 year old one looks in way better condition than that year old one.

I got rid of my 21 Can-am for a Yamaha, turned out to be a great decision. I was working on the Can-am all the time, haven't had to do anything to the Grizzly outside of oil change. However, you were way over due for brake pads. Mud can eat through stock pads in a couple rides. The best way to avoid this is to rely more on your engine braking when mudding until you get a chance to spray them out.

I have an 06 yamaha kodiak 400. It has been rode and worked hard and the only issue it has had was a busted cv boot. That is the only thing that has been replaced on the machine besides the battery. And, it still has the original brake pads. It has been a great machine and still is. In fact, today was the first time that it has been started since probably november and it fired right up and has no issues.good luck cuz

I have a 2021 Can-Am Outlander 570 and I thrash on it, this includes: Jumping extremely high, rallying on a 51Km circuit with 3-foot ruts, taken it in a mud pond with water up above the seat, Got stuck on a massive tree stump and crashed into a rut. My unit has 3000 km or 1864 Miles and I have only had 3 services and 1 belt replaced, I have taken this bike to 46 Celsius or 114.8 Fahrenheit and it performed amazingly. I would never choose those brands like: Yamaha, Artic Cat, Suzuki, or Polaris, I want to know I will make it back to base on a bike, not on foot. No wonder all the other creators out there choose Can-Am over the other brands I can agree with them, My atv which in my country is sold as a Farm quad, I can not believe the performance I got out of my small package. i am going to start upgrading it soon, so if u got any recommendations please reply to my comment with the performance product and link: Thanks 😃😃😃

I agree with much of what you say. I have a 2017 XT 570 I bought new in summer of 2018. I use it mostly for deer hunting and ice fishing. I’m not sure of the mileage but it’s always been noisy and lasts year it got so bad I took it to a dealer. He said both U-joints on the rear drive shaft were completely shot and the brakes practically fell out of the machine when he removed the wheels. He replaced them with aftermarket brakes. I had told him noises were coming from the front drive train too but they didn’t do anything there. So during the winter the front got so bad I had to quit using four wheel drive except when I was forced to. In checking I noticed the rear boot on the front drive shaft was split around the middle and I could see the splines on the end of the shaft. I just dropped it at the dealer last Friday for repairs. I’m waiting on the diagnosis. I bought this machine after selling a Kawasaki Bayou 220 two wheel drive that I had over twenty years with no problems until the drive shaft had to be replaced. I used it pretty much the same as I have the Can Am. I will say I loved the power and handling of the Outlander but I too am disappointed with these problems. I’m debating selling it and will probably buy a Yamaha Grizzly 450 if I do.

my 2022 can am 570 max has been good to me and I have ran it pretty good. Now the brake pads are an issue for me as well. mine didn't even last me 400 miles lol but I just keep and eye on them and I have been working on letting the engine braking do most of the work now. I love my machine and I'm rounding 750 miles so far. My buddy has a 2022 suzuki kingquad 750 and that is an amazing machine as well. I am guessing you rode this machine and never paid any attention to noises ? If the brake pads had dwindled away to near nothing and the caliper piston rode in to the rotor, it would of made noise long before this. I don't think you can blame any problem on Can Am because you never checked over your machine regularly. Even 600 miles, that takes more than a day to put that sort of mileage on, you had plenty of time to do periodic inspections and perhaps found a problem before it had got too extreme.

I've had the over pressurized fuel tank issue, coolant leak at the reservoir where the coolant hoses connect, speed sensor failed, bent shifter rod due to insanely hard to put into gear, nearly impossible to change the front differential oil if you have a skid plate! I swear Can-Am was engineered by Terrence and Philip. Because no one else would design a bike this way I'm pretty sure CF Moto is better.

I carry that machine to war at least 2 to 3 times a week and each ride out is about 150 to 200 miles depending on how far i feel like riding. I climb rocky terrain, ride through salt water, mud and soft bogging sand. Normal routine maintainance is critical and just the norm. Only issues i have is i keep tearing up my universal joints im my rear drive shaft and i over heat sometimes when riding through soft sand. My 2020 Outlander started falling apart as soon as I got it home from the dealer and its a farm use only machine with stock tires and wheels. I carried in for service with less than 20 hours on it due to an oil leak where the prop shaft bolts to the motor. Upon inspection by the technician the bolt that secures the prop shaft to the transmission was gone causing oil to leak around the seal. The dealership accused me of removing the bolt and fault to not cover this under warranty. Eventually after several heated discussions they replaced the bolt and changed the oil, when I picked up my Outlander from the dealer and got it back home I noticed oil had been dripping onto my trailer and the drip was coming from the drain plug. I returned the Outlander to the dealer within an hour from picking it up and walked over to where it had been parked at the dealer to find fresh oil on the concrete. The gentleman who sold me the outlander came over to me and ask if he could help me I pointed out the oil on the concrete and he said it was most likely from a different machine that had been brought in for service. We walked over to my trailer and i pointed out the oil on my trailer and showed him my service record that showed I had just picked the outlander up from service. To shorten this story the tech had not installed the crush washer which was causing the leak. Around 40 hours I started hearing a rattling noise which ended up being the exhaust shield which had also lost a bolt and the rear racks were lose due to missing bolts which I assume fell out or were never installed. At 43 hours the original oil leak showed up again due to the prop shaft bolt falling out again. Another trip to the dealer to have another bolt installed. Again I was accused of tampering with the bolt because "these bolts never just fall out" according to the lead tech. At 47 hours the starter bendix assembly fell apart and the starter had to be replaced. The list goes on and on. I paid cash for the machine and bought the extended so I was hesitant to sell the machine and take a big loss, however once the extended warranty which wasn't worth the money ran out I started doing my own maintenance on the Outlander. I still own the outlander and it is still running however if I don't check and tighten the prop shaft bolt every couple hours it will fall out. I keep several on hand just in case. I have owned several Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Polaris ATVs and UTVs with no major problems to speak of. I know all machines can have problems but I think CanAm lacks in their quality control and engineering departments.

I don't know if thier QC is that inconsistent or what, but from the videos and comments there's very little middle of the road. I decided to take a chance on Can Am and bought a 2018 holdover Outlander 570 XT partly because it was a good deal and I liked the performance for street riding. I've just over a thousand miles and so far, so good. They are a PITA to maintain, they do run hot (right on the left leg!), their belt is noisy and I have had one episode of a misfiring cylinder recently which has not replicated....so sounds like I may want to sell it before it shits the bed!

Anytime you buy one of these machines you have to become a technician and maintain the machine. Look the way you have the machine on the tire. Look at your radiator. Look at all the dirt in your system. You Burned out your break system. Can Am does not put the best break pads and it is common knowledge to change those out for metallic instead of organic. YES you should read your manual. I always watch these kind of videos to learn something. I hope the viewers do not follow your lead and expect that these machines are maintenance free or fool proof. My suggestion to you and your viewers is to out line your issues objectively stop complaining. Take responsibility you bought it.

Just oil changes and grease. It gets ridden hard but common sense says don't put it away wet. Doesn't burn a drop of oil, pulls like a freight train to around 70mph. All stock tires on entry level ATV's suck - you ride em til they wear out and put better ones on.

Reading and becoming familiar with the manual is an absolute must for any atv, especially Can Am lol. It is an off road machine after all and should be checked after every ride. I don’t think that your mileage to years owned ratio justifies the recommendation of not to buy a Can Am though. They are great machines but definitely require more maintenance than any of the Japanese brands. I sold my 3 year/16000km Can Am 650 for that very reason. My Yamaha Grizzly is now 1 year old/6500km in and I’ve only replaced brake pads. I’ve also read my manual inside out and check every component at the specified intervals.

The days of simple are fading as more and more computer stuff drives these machines. BRP Skidoo and atv’s are highly chipped which is ok until they die in the bush. Dealer only for plug in computer repairs etc. I don’t want a check engine light going lighting up on my off road vehicles. I’m sure BRP isn’t the only one using them. Lots of people have good stories to tell about their Can-Am products but these days, we really need to buy a brand that provides superior parts and service. Pretty hard to argue with overall longevity of Honda and Polaris. Early model Honda trikes are still running and sell for top dollar. I tried to like Polaris but too many made in China parts under the hood. Dollar for dollar, a CFMoto china quad likely last as long as Polaris.

Dude when brakes get wore out to the rotors then the calibers pistons will pop out and brake fluid will fly every where all you need to do is put the caliber pistons back in and bleed the brakes and its was your fault on the brakes and I truly think its the rider not the atv you can get mad all you want its facts. as for changing oil filter is easy from the side, and the diff oil there's a drain plug on bottom of diff come on dude realy, if I was a betting man I would bet its your son beating the hell out of it .

I have a 570 for 10 years and it is pretty much flawless. They are actually easy to work on. Breaks last a long time. Unfortunately you just dont have a understanding on how to work on a atv. This seems to me to be a owners abuse and not mechanical or can am issue. The fact you are not able to find the drain plug on the rear differential is unfortunately a statement of your understanding. I hope anyone watching your video understands that can am ia by far the best units out there but do require a little bit of maintenance.

  • @kalvyn1435

This is a hate video over issues caused by hard riding and no maint. “I will never buy a can am product again.” Hondas are less maint
, but can ams go harder. I own a 2020 and have ridden the piss put of it, and sink it routinely…but I change the oil, fill the zerks and am just now replacing the brakes after 2,000 miles. The maint is easy as shit and no, you donot have to remove much to service it. Watch a youtube, 5 minutes. I have been through trees, thorns, rocks, big climbs and zero plastics have broken, floor is solid. You do need to get a bottom protection of some sort…just like every atv if you ride on very rough trails like I do.

Bud, been in this industry since the first 4 wheeler was invented, You say Brake Failure after your brakes wore out?, it’s not a failure
I’m a parts purchaser for 6 Can am dealers and I know what every store sells and has for problems, and we don’t fix on a regular basis the stuff you wreck and we have thousands of them out there, plastic does not disintegrate all by itself, people break it, we change rear drive oil all the time, you don’t even know how to do it, real weird, you are not being honest

Can am people are gonna bs to this comment but can am is terrible compared to the Japanese quads in reliability. I’ve got a 21 king quad 750 and my friends got a 21 canam 450. He doesn’t know much about mechanics so I do the work on both. The Suzuki is easy and efficient to work on. The canam… not so much. Anyway that’s my take

    • @matthewheld1292
      @matthewheld1292 7 днів тому

Suzuki is probably one of the worst examples to use for Japanese quality, my brother currently has a 2001 quadmaster 500 sitting useless in his garage with a carb that needs a rebuild that unfortunately Suzuki doesn’t make a rebuild kit for it anymore , something that honda will still make for even a 30 year old fourtrax and yamaha will still make for an almost 20 year old big bear 400 (can’t even find an aftermarket kit on ebay or any of the popular parts sights) and suzuki’s attitude about it was that he should just buy a brand new suzuki quad, to which he told them in a polite way then i’m saying in this comment to stick it up their ass i’ll just buy something else then, fuck suckzuki, if thats what they want is to be the Apple Inc. of quads then all the power to them 🤷🏼‍♂️ i’d only buy Honda or Yamaha after hearing that crap, they still care and back even some of their legacy products

That's just how I feel about Polaris. Talk about poor quality control. Polaris is the king of an unreliable machine.

I hope people dont take this dudes videos as actual advice.
My Suzuki King Quad 750 was the biggest piece of shit i ever owned, issue after issue after issue, not to mention the power steering would work just whenever it felt like it.
I bet what happened was the pads wore down and froze/broke the calipers because it was never checked or maintenanced, newsflash, ATVs need maintenance, parts will fail, if anyone thinks that if they buy a machine and just because they " spent their hard earned money " that its bulletproof and nothing will ever go wrong? Stop whining and just fix it lol. Its a brake caliper, not the end of the world. Please people, do not think because you bought a new atv you dont have to check things and do maintenance, pads, fluids, etc.
Dont let this dude sway your opinion on Can-Am. I have a 2021 Outlander 850xmr and i promise you i put my XMR through so much shit im surprised it hasnt had any issues, but nope, no issues. Oh wait no i lied, my tail light bulb went out and i had to spend 8$ at Walmart for another. Damn, spend 16k + of my hard earned money, how dare a light bulb go out..
Its clear this guys been biased from the start and just doesnt like Can-Am. Hes old and Can-Am is a newer brand, so hes obvious going to like older brands like Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, etc.

Well, I've got a 570 and it runs perfectly oil change was a little hard to get the filter but nothing that was extravagant. Don't have a problem with the brakes mind you I don't use them real hard cause I don't need to Machine slow itself down, so I'm not quite sure why you're having so much problems but to say out of. All this that you'll never own a Can-Am that's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater not sure how you ride, but I've put mine through hell and back and it's still perfectly fine
