Thank you, Igor! I recently picked up the Pirc+KID and was looking for more information on the less theory intensive sidelines after ...Bg4 and this was exactly the level of detail and depth I needed. Subscribed because you are the man!

It's funny that my main repertoires as black are Pirc and Stafford, with Kings Gambit as the white main repertoire. Thank you Igor for making me suck less at chess.
6:12 What if en passant dxe6, I can't calculate it but it looks dubious/scary and bad for black Edit:( I should never have doubted you Igor, you covered it, just in a transposition. Legend ) I think everyone above 500 would probs play en passant dxe6 as the most natural move but I may be wrong... Sure you take the bishop, they develop your queen, they are still attacking your knight, aight with an ok discovered attack for you... But no way I'd play this unless I'd spent an hour calculating 8 moves further
in the position at 5:31 White can defend its d4 pawn by simply pushing his e4 pawn. At which point, even if you manage to come out even or with an additional pawn, you end up with a completely messed up pawn structure
If Queen moves to a4 to take knight, c pawns is safe. No chance to jump another knight. Only can apply if opponent mades mistakes. Correct, my great teacher, igor?
I find it amusing how these lines are so elegant and pretty. . . I just defeated a 1700 opponent that was attacking me like crazy since move 2 and none of this lines applied at all. . . He defeated me like 20 times until I learned to slow down his attack with positions. But I just wanted to say that if there's a person that's extremely attacking the KID it's tricky. Or at least it's for me at this moment. Anyway, love the video and most people are not like Kasparov going to the jugular right away
Good video, but: Would rather play any other line than this, literally throwing away your game. If you are white and want to crush black here play 10. gxf3 instead of Bxf3 in the main line. You can than attack with h4-h5-hxg6 followed by Bh6. If black plays h5 to prevent your plan just go for f4-f5. Black has no counterplay and suffers until he is dead. Btw. engine eval is +3 (literally a piece up) with the move and plan i suggested.
Work on keeping your pieces connected to each other (defending each other) as you also attempt to make space progress on the board with pawns and minors.
Is it true that short term memory plays an important role in chess. I believe that short term memory helps. When I see chess players explaining their game without looking at the chess board I feel surprised. Can people who can memorise 70000 digits of pi have the potential to play chess like world Champions. Suresh sharma, rajan mahadevan two from my country memorised 70000 digits of pi. When I am solving puzzles I am facing little discomfort when I try to manipulate the chess board in my mind. I am loosing track of things.

Qxg3, mate on h6 is unstoppable
Puzzle: Qxg3 and if hxg3, then g5 followed by Rh6#. So the queen can't be captured and black won a knight for free.
One of the best teacher ever
Chess is not popular in Japan. For the first time I am seeing a Japanese commenting on a video related to chess.

Igor, can you do a dedicated video on playing against the Kings Indian defense as white ? Thanks !
what a great explanation!
Excellent video! I’ve been looking to learn the King’s Indian more and this is a fascinating idea! Thanks!
A lot of thanks for making and sharing your video!!
Puzzle at 15:30: Qxg3 hxg3 Rh6#, so the k night is free.
Wow man, didn't imagine you can do so much damage with Kings Indian so early, thanx!
Happy to help
Really needed to see this today. Thank you so much for the time you take and the quality of your teaching. Very much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
Long overdue for me to whatch and learn, played the Kings indian a lot, without great theoretical knowledge, this really fills the gap, thann you!
I've just started experimenting with The King's Indian so great timing 🙂
Another great video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great work, helped me finally beat the Caro in an OTB game 👍
Simple but Elegant !
Thanks for your valuable lesson
Thank you very much for this video!
15:35 Qxg3 ; hxg3 ; g5 and unstoppable anastasia mate
U are my one of the favourite chess youtuber 🥰🥰
nice opening and explanation now I am ready for my tomorrow's tournament to beat d4 players!

yooo bro i also came to comments to find if someone asks for en passant(i didnt watch the full vid that time)
Outstanding. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Hi Igor, any thoughts on going over the Kings Indian Attack ?
7:40 Knight fork, anything going on if just pull back Qb1 to protect.
At 11:58 , what if the white pawn takes the knight on C6 ?
Igor you are the best!
in the position at 5:31 White can defend its d4 pawn by simply pushing his e4 pawn. At which point, even if you manage to come out even or with an additional pawn, you end up with a completely messed up pawn structure
But u get an extra pawn. BTW excellent video
E5? Dxe5 dxe5 Nxe5 ,if they trade queen, Qxd8 Nxf3, Gxf3 Rxd8. You messed up their pawn structure with a rook on open file. Black is better
Mr. Smirnov, can this be used against e4 and let’s say we start with d6 like the Pirc Defense. Can the same theme be followed theoretically?
It’s true
Pawn to e5 is gonna get enpassant
Love your vids
If Queen moves to a4 to take knight, c pawns is safe. No chance to jump another knight. Only can apply if opponent mades mistakes. Correct, my great teacher, igor?
Very nice tech to defence d4
6:10 isn't the most natural move for the white to take en passant the e pawn?
yes ;-;
but he covers en passant in the video later
6:20 when you play pawn to E5 what happens if your opponent el passant you..!! Pls help..
6:13 What if e.p?
6:11
They will take the pawn by enpassant
1...Qxg3
2. Hxg3 g5
You can also go king's indian in vs e4 but u need to go d6 first so pawn can't push the knight
that's not king's indian that's pirc
7:41
10:44

Q takes g3 Knight. if h takes Queen, then g5 and Rook h6 mate.
the answer of that puzzle is .........Qg3
hg3 g5
there is no good way to stop Rh6 mate. Great puzzle
Does this KID variation have a name?
What happens when you play e5 to protect the knight and white does in-passante ?
6:13 why no en passant?
"Your opponents will not be prepared for this sideline." - 114k views :D
Sounds like i play the right way 😁 this standard agaist d and c4.
C5 against e4.
What if white plays an early prophylactic 5…h6?
Which you may get if you always play Bg4.
Your long term plans then are different, you fianchetto your bishop on g2, Nbd7 and plan to push the c5 at opportune moment :)
14:00 Instead of Bxb6, Bd4 wins the game for white !
Queen sacrifice, g5 Rh6
Question: What if they push pawn to h3 before you can put the white square bishop to g4. What's the plan for bishop?
You can fianchetto the light squared bishop by pushing the b pawn
Extremely late... But the tactic solution is Queen takes knight on g3, pawn takes Queen, then black plays g5 making way for a checkmate with the rook?
Very nice ...thank you
But what if white play 5.h3
Preventing 6. ...Bg4
Hey, did you figure that out? I'm also having trouble with that
what is that chessboard?
How about white fianchettoed his Bishop like Reti opening? How to continue? Is it same?
Good video, but: Would rather play any other line than this, literally throwing away your game.

Pawn to E5 to "fix" black knight ( 6.20 )? But he can play en passant?
Answer,
Q×g3 h×g3, g5
And White can't stop Rh6#
Before playing ...Bg4 what if white played h3.
"never have to worry about king safety" i came here because i always get attacked and cant defend it
Work on keeping your pieces connected to each other (defending each other) as you also attempt to make space progress on the board with pawns and minors.
Queen takes g3, after take back g5 and mates on h6
What if white enpassant nd takes d6
qxg3 and if the pawn xg3 ....g5 is unavoiable checkus matus...rh5

dont think too much. its just moves and attacking and plans.
I think Qxg3 hxg3, g5 intending Rg6.
6:35 en passant
and black is doomed... yeah.
Nxe6
Qxg3 follow by g5 and then Rh6
F5 would be interesting
Hello, can you turn off your translation? Thanks
What if white takes enpassent our pawn
6:20 if white use En passant. It will be dissaster for black. Lose pieces.
dxe6, Nxf3+
Qxf3 fxe6
is completely fine for black.
I'm curious, how different is this to the Grünfeld?
A4
Tardjet, Djif, Djermany
90 %of players i play open with 1 e4
That changes as you progress…
Just play the pirc, same thing :p
Play The Scandinavian Defense, it does wonders
That is great , I have never played king's indian defence but after this lesson I'm going to do . Thanks Igor 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 .
Great!
E5 pawn capture in pasant 😅
Queen takes knight, a Pawan move , checkmate
Its look like pirc def..
They are the same, but with different move order
White can Play Rc1 And Ng1 Instead Of Be3
Queen take the knight
मैं सदस्य नहीं बनना चाहता हूँ।
This was easy, QxN wins a piece or mate in 2 if PxQ
Plz invite oyyasu to the tornament
Tarjet
Don't use above 1700.
How about en peasant

Qxg3 hxg3 g5 and that's guaranteed win.
Queen takes, Pawn moves, rook checkmates
Q x N
this is bull shit , I tried it , they play g4 , he in the starting , he didn't tell that
Very nice to play against an opponent that play only the moves you want and you as a chess master pretend not to see the other options 🤦♂️.
