As someone who was born and raised here, I have to say that what seems to have made your transition here easier is that you observe and listen. Humility is a big part of Hawaii culture and helps newcomers assimilate into the local lifestyle. You need to do a video on OCEAN SAFETY and what beaches are good for what. As you know, drowning happens here quite often and majority are visitors or newcomers.

Thanks for watching...drownings happen way too often

True that. We were on Kauai hiking along the Na Pali coast and there are signs at all the beaches saying ‘if in doubt, don’t go out’. It sticks in your head because the ocean there is no joke sometimes!!

Costco is not bad for pricing. Gas was cheaper at Costco then the mainland a few years ago. I shopped for the sales and clearance and had a good sized freezer to stock up, and that saved me a lot. Also, the farmer's market is a good thing.

You want to eat mainland food? Move to the mainland. Simple solution. It's so typical that people move here because they like the island lifestyle. When they arrive on island they start looking for food and stores that were in the places they just left.

Your digs looks really nice - hard to find reasonable, updated nice places to live on your own. Are you downtown Honolulu specifically? Thank you for your thoughts. Do you think you will live there for a while or do you see yourself moving eventually? I agree that there is SO much to do, always something outside, lots of adventure, friendly people, sunny weather, 80 degrees year round. I do realize you do end up paying the price for paradise because there is a lot of beauty there!

Are there ways to get your car over to the island without going broke. Former NWK girl moved to rural land and found out its pretty tough. Would love Hawaii but not sure if it is feasible. I think there is a Krispy Kreme on Maui, and I think you can buy it in some stores on Oahu. The upside of the food, is that you got Zippy's and the mainland doesn't.
There are no bears or big scary animals in Hawaii, but I know there are wild boars and deer on Molokai. There are some snakes, and when they find them it's on the news. You did forget about the flying cockroaches in the cons.
The reason there are not a lot of violent crime is because in Hawaii, we don't use guns when we are mad we fight. Wat you looking at? Like go! Shoots!

You can, but to be respectful to the next person in line, you usually don't do those crazy coupon thing. Also, we most people find the person with the military ID to go shopping and the exchanges and commissaries don't take coupons unless it's there own coupons.

Yes you can, my fiancee is addicted to it. But it's nice cause we garage sale every weekend and it all works out well. Just make sure you are experienced at it, cause if you're not the cashiers will give you a hard time. Hope this helps.

Grew up in Oahu since I was 1 and it’s not the picture perfect post card that everyone sees. There are very ghetto parts, it is really expensive and there is racism everywhere it’s sad but it is how it is. But I love my hometown and the islanders I grew up with are very nice people and willing to teach you about their culture you just have to be respectful.

no jobs =homelessness there are more homeless in this state then adults that can afford housing if thats not national problem then idk what is we are screwed and whats even more bothersome nobody is doing anything about it to be well off in this state 93,000 a year even with 2 jobs that is in the realm of unattainable unless you are surgeon or political someone is not balancing economy right needs to be looked at thoroughly..I understand cost of living but even college grad with position in professional is wooping 30000-40000 grand a year if they are lucky most grads here end up working at entry level jobs starting at 20000 or less as employment specialist id have to say that's unacceptable

Nobody needs Chick-Fil-A... There are fried chicken places that are much better when you shop local. There are also recipes for Chick-Fil-a Chicken online and they taste close enough to the real thing.
