Finding the Surface Area of a Half Cylinder.
See all Surface Area lessons: vividmath.com/geometry/ge-sur...
Steps:
1. Find the radius of the half cylinder. Simply divide the diameter by 2 (recall that the radius is equal to half the diameter).
2. Using the known values, solve for the area of the front semi-circle using the area of a semi-circle formula (1/2 x πr^2).
3. Next solve for the rectangular bottom area using the area of a rectangle formula (length x width).
4. Now we solve for the surface area of the cylindrical curved surface using the surface area of a cylinder formula (2πrh). Since this is a half cylinder we use the formula (1/2 x 2πrh).
5. Finally, add all of the areas together.

In this video example we use _π = 3.141592654_
There are different variations of π you may use:
Using _π = 3.14_ your answer may be slightly different.
Please stop writing your decimals in the middle it looks like you’re multiplying when you aren’t 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This guy deserves an award for simplicity 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It felt like we were in the same room, I was filling in my own measurements and I barely had to pause.
THANKS SO MUCH :)
this helped so much thank god you made this video :)
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS. This was just really simple and easy. This helped me alot. Thanks again.
An amazing video cuz I have a test coming up and I thought I was going to easily flunk it. BUT NOT ANYMORE THANKS TO THIS VIDEO!! thank you so much!
This video was very helpful. Thank you
omgggg this helped so much thankyou, I had a question like this in my homework, thankyou for helping :)
Very good explanations in all of the videos :)
very good video it helped a LOT!
SENSATIONAL STUFF HERE
Thanks very much ,you really helped me for the test tomorrow
thank you sooo much 👍
Thanks for that it's really helpful.
It very helpful. The explanation are good and word that came to show. It a good helping math.
Excellent video sir. Thnx a lot
Thanks!
Damn this vid is like 10 yrs old and still helpful
very helpful !
Good Teaching!
You are amazing
The easier way to do this question is: {this is the formula for a half cylinder}
A = 2[1/2*PI*R Squared] + 1/2 (2*PI*R)*L*B*L
hey what is b
@Guppa Ejee So cylinders breathe now?
@@danmark9255 base lol
Internet imaoo lol it’s base😂😂
isn't A = 2[1/2*PI*R Squared] + 1/2 (2*PI*R)*L + B*L
the right one? you forgot to put a plus between L and B
The thing is with this is that when people look at the working out for the first time thier like 😳 but once u do the working out it’s easy as
Thank you so much I was so confused when I found this question in my homework, but you should really add the formulas for each surface such as lw (length x width) for rectangle other than that it was very helpful
Yea true that’s what I did in my working out lol
Ha fooled
Thank you so very much. For the past 2 days, I've had so much trouble solving a similar situation in my workbook, but thanks to you its all good now :)
He's a legend isn't he
+Adam's apples he great. it was so helpful
+Justin Kills Aquino I watched the video still confuses me lol seems to go against all cylinder rules and is much more complex than open or closed cylinder ones but he's still a legend
Adam's apples I perfectly understand it lol
+Justin Kills Aquino I guess I'm a little bit retarted than
Thank
bro this is a great explanation thanks
You're welcome
Oh very good
Thanks so much t
Thanks so much ,the video really helped me
good vid
2:32 well actually the way I do it I actually put 2 in the formula at first itself
Could i use the formulae for the surface area of a cylinder and then divide it by 2?
No not Really because there’s the extra face at the bottom
yeah
I have a question. Can you find the area of the whole cylinder and then halve it? Any suggestions welcome
Test it out because I was thinking the same thing
nope because you would be left with a unsolved base
Find volume now
What if it is half a drum that was painted both in&outside
Plz!!!! Reply to me 😑😔
i like how he stands 0:43 . this is call guys twerking xD
The guy is looking at the side of room as the results are on their. Is there a video on how to find out the volume of a half cylinder.
To find the volume just find the area of the half circle then times by height
its πrh+πr^2+2rh
So much mistakes in solving but the solution is good
Rip
Can you be my math teacher pls
Howd u get the 32?😩😭😭
Alan 😂😂😂😂
good morning
Were you sleeping
ur nose is too distracting, but good video im gonna subrsibe mate
OMG I was ssooooooooooo confused by this video u didn't even explain I have a test tomorrow and I have no idea what to do. Thanks for nothing. Soz no hate plz this was just my opinion
yea ikr, he cant explain shit.....
or maybe you just skipped to the ending of the video
your a piece of shit haters
Know the formula first you dumb
my answer is 6,483.48
using this formula 2π r ( h + r )
anyone find this guy is annyoing
I just subscribed
