The smile when you got your first set was adorable! I know all too well how it feels to be able to walk again after thinking you'd be stuck in a wheelchair forever as a child. It feels freaking amazing and like such a win! I'm not an amputee, but due to a rare disorder I suddenly couldn't walk anymore at the age of 11 and had to learn to walk again. I luckily succeeded, but sadly since then they found I have several muscle and auto-immune diseases and so can't stand or walk for a very long time. I am glad for my wheelchair now, though, as it's a freedom now and it helps me to do more things. Aids aren't easy to accept at first, but once you do and they're right for you they're amazing.!
The picture of you in your hello kitty legs is just perfect 👌🏻 I had that same huge grin when I got my first leg so completely understand 😃🦿🎉🤗 Thank goodness for our amazing NHS and of course our awe inspiring prosthetists for giving us independence 🤗🥰

in the US one pair of legs would be super expensive and probably not fully covered by insurance. I'm glad you're in a country with good healthcare :/

My little boy is 19 months and he had dobble lower amputation on the 26th of June 2019 😍 he has his prosthetic legs he’s now been walking with his baby walker (pushing) and we take it everywhere and he loves it x

Aww that’s so good to here. Just watch how much more confident he gets walking as he grows up. ❤️
"Prosthetist" can be a hard word to pronounce, so I just call them Pirate Mobility Centers :)

Isabelle Weall, English politicians seem to be on a bit of a roll at “fixing” things that aren’t broken.
@@IsabelleWeall You really should make that video on how the NHS has helped you, as most people don't understand how important adequate health care, or how expensive adequate treatment is...
On another note, one aid that I haven't seen in your videos is velcro.
For example: If you wear a velcro arm band, and also have velcro on the back of your phone, then you can hold the phone & use the entire screen. Granted you need to buy a few feet of it, experiment with it, and even sew a bit onto an old jacket to create your own solutions...

Hey I'm glad you stayed on UA-cam 🙂. I say your last video and I'm so sorry you had to go through that 😥. But I'm glad to see you show your strong spirit again. I know you have touched many lifes including mine. I think your new legs look super cool. Maybe you can design fashion styles on different shoes for the new legs. I know sometimes in life after a devastating accident every little piece of happiness matters. There are probably alot of kids getting prosthetics for the first time and seeing your picture or leg designs brings a beautiful smile to there faces 😊. Thanks for you being you. 🤘🤘

Totally agree with you about tattoos. I had glasses with a character on them, had to keep them for 2 years even although the character was no longer on tv and I’d totally grown out of liking them 😂😂

Great video ☺️ It’s nice to hear someone talking about their positive experience with the NHS, people are often so quick to complain about a service that we’re incredibly lucky to have!
People slate it so much but at the end of the day they saved my life and then enabled me to walk on the best prosthetics ever since for FREE. 😊
It depends. Some of us have right to complain as for example NHS wont fund a suitable wheelchair or enough physio etc. Just because it "free" doesn't mean we should keep quiet when we suffer medical neglect.
Sarah I don’t think it’s a perfect system by any means, but it’s a system I’d rather have than the alternative. Of course where there are flaws people can and should voice their concerns in order to effect change.
@@IsabelleWeall You don't know how bad it is here in the states, as an illness, accident or being a victim of crime leaves you poor for life. In my case, I had my back broken by a drunk driver, only to be "turfed" by a private hospital for "insufficient coverage", which delayed emergency back surgery for a year & a half...

Makes me think of myself. I am not an amputee but I am hearing impaired so this reminds me of when I could customize my hearing aids like the color and see through or not, animal print, and different colored hearing aid earmolds like color and other stuff. I had fun choosing the color or pattern of my hearing aids and color/2 swirled colors/glitter/clear for my earmolds

Love the NHS, universal health care gives dignity to all.
Where i am in Cornwall ive found the prosthetic service abysmal & have to go all the way to Plymouth which is one hell of a drag ! Re-hab & physio its pratically non exsistent. Cornwall is a very poor county & it shows with the bloody awful service.

I just had a thought.... you could probably wear dresses or skirts for a Christmas thing in the winter and not be too cold. Also you don't have to worry about shaving your legs 😮

She can't do it herself, she can brush it but not tie it :)
She said in another video if her hair is up her mum has done it but she brushes and straightens get hair

Are you under the adult team yet? Not sure what age that starts. I've heard other says child side of things is great but once they turn into adults that is when things stop being funded. Hopefully that isn't the case but it seems to be case for wheelchair services at least. lol
At my mobility centre they treat children and adults and always have so I’m not really under either as my hospital doesn’t split by age.
This is completely unrelated to anything at all but someday I will own something with dingus engraved on it. It is literally related to nothing
