  • At Oshkosh 2023 I approached CamGuard with the idea of making a video looking at the performance of their product. They loved the idea especially since I work in the oil analysis industry. With that in mind they sent me a case of product to test and make this video. The results speak for themselves.

    I use camgaurd, have been for a couple of years now and couldn't be any happier with the performance of the product! Avaition, marine and small engine being the focal point of my use! Great product!

    Great video! I have used CamGuard for years in a Continental 65, 85, and Lycoming 0235-C1B and love it. Thanks for the video. 👍🙂👍

    I couldn’t be happier with the results. Can’t wait to see the trend over 100 hours! This reminds me of the adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

    Hey Larry, I'm building a 601 HDS from plans and had a question for you about the build. I was wondering if you knew if the CH 650 firewall is compatible with the 601 HDS. I have not been able to find much info on this subject and I'm a bit intimidated by the firewall in the plans. Thanks, Scott

      I used the 650 nose gear structure on the HDS. no problems with fit. it's the same dimensions for the 601 to the 650.

    So... does WW say we can use this over the ZDDP?

      After break in. You need to use the HD Diesel blend.

    Is there a reduction of zinc contents in Rotella T4 over time? Seems like there was a 40%+ increase in CR contents in the 210? Does it mean it's eating the piston rings faster?

    • @zenvairpilot
      @zenvairpilot  7 місяців тому

      the 210 is using aeroshell. aeroshell doesn't have any zinc in it. The Cr levels were actually low, less than 10 ppm. as such a small change can appear larger and more significant than it actually is.

      Since you did bring it up the Chromium shift was from 0.18ppm prior to CamGuard with 40 hours on the oil, to get this 0.18ppm at 20hours on the oil. Just to show the insignificance of the shift the limit of detection for Chromium using ASTM D5185 is near 0.12ppm. So it is just above the limit of detection. Not a real concern at all. But mathematically dividing the value over the time on the oil does indicate a shift upwards in the per hour trend, even though one is not occurring.
