Lizzy Hale of Halestorm calls Tobias the man with the plan. Always thinking five steps ahead. This music video is a perfect example. At the end you can see a little red cardinal sitting on the cross tombstone of a grave. This was the last single with Papa Emeritus 3 and when the new character was presented in Chapter 1 in comes Cardinal Copia in a red cardinal dress. So now you get an idea how Tobias mind works. Ooh almost forgot. The song is about....well if you search the internet for answers you will get at least hundred different options from a houndred different people . That's the true genious of Tobias that you can never ever say that THIS IS RIGHT " or THAT IS WRONG when it comes to a song. You mentioned Rats in this reaction and that is a just another one where you think it's about the rats that spread the plague but Tobias insist that its also about bullies that you never get away from. And some say its about the lawsuit from the older band members. But one thing is quite obvious in Square Hammer and thats the different Freemasons terms. I'm not involved in that but being on the square and being on the level comes from them. Also the square hammer and a lot more that he mentions in the song. Now i'm rabbling on but there is so much more than just a song and that's why i love them so much.

Absolutely! Even if you like the song and feel like you have glimpse into its meaning, you are never entirely sure. Each song is like an onion, with various layers which can all be possible interpretations. It is awesome because it is both ear candy and also gets the mind working, which we love.
We definitely hope to cover them more in future episodes. We've only done 7 Ghost song so far (all in a playlist linked at the end of the episode), I say "only", but that's also the most songs we covered by any one band. Stay tuned for more!
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage, Magnus. Much appreciated! 🙏

When I was 11 years old, I discovered a band that I absolutely loved because of the very theatrical and subversive nature of their music (my parents hated it). The song School's Out became the anthem of school kids everywhere. Of course the band/singer was Alice Cooper and the following year Billion Dollar Babies was released. That album and Welcome To My Nightmare are two of my favorite albums of all time. Ghost very much reminds me of Alice Cooper and Tobias Forge has acknowledged the immense influence that Alice Cooper had on him. When I first heard Rats, I thought that this would have been a great Alice Cooper song. It is easy to imagine Alice Cooper spitting out those same lyrics. I can even imagine Alice Cooper performing Square Hammer. Just like with Alice Cooper, I love the showmanship and theatrics. Plus the old school music is so damn catchy.

Hi again Dan! Yes, I (Itai) can definitely see the parallels between Alice and Ghost. While I respect Alice Cooper and all he's done in music and I have enjoyed much of what was released by him and the band, for some reason I never connected with him/them as much as others. Perhaps that was due to my age at the time and what I preferred to listen to (much darker, heavier rock). Discovering Ghost at my age today (I am 48) feels like exactly the right time as Ghost's music has an amazing mix of nostalgia, fun rock, deep lyrics and catchy tunes, which are all like candy to my ears and my brain. This makes me wonder if I'll appreciate Alice Cooper more if I went back and listened or re-listened to early albums. It's an interesting thought and I might give it a go and test it out if I can find the time...
BTW, we hope to record your request for The Hu this week and we recently recorded Asterism's Dawn, so it's in the editing queue and we hope to have it released soon as well. We hope you enjoy them. Thank you so much for the support!
As always, thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Always a pleasure chatting with you. We appreciated you! 🙏

@@myindieprodentertainment The early Alice Cooper you need to try are Love It To Death, Killer, School's Out and Billion Dollar Babies which were released in a row in the very early 70s, plus his first solo album Welcome To My Nightmare. To me, those are his 5 best albums.

If you think this video reminds you of the movie Metropolis, then you should watch From the Pinnacle to the Pit. It’s also a great Ghost song.

I liked that song a lot. The video was well done. But I wonder what they want to say with this. I got vintage-vibes too. Fritz Lang, etc.

    • @myindieprodentertainment

Apparently there are many interpretations out there for this one. The most popular one revolves around the Freemasons. It's quite interesting. And yes! Fritz Lang vibes, most notably I (Itai) felt there almost an homage to Nosferatu somewhere in there. Great song. Seems Ghost are just incapable of producing a bad song!

But yeah, enjoyable music! So enjoyable I can't stop listening to the 7 songs of theirs we already covered and can't wait for the next one. Unfortunately, the view on Ghost episodes have been dropping, which probably means we will do them less frequently... They are such awesome fun!

I've noticed you guys haven't heard any Infestissumam songs! Do you only do the ones with MVs tho? 'Cause i was really hoping for "Body And Blood" or "Idolatrine"
Also idk if you like acoustic but they're so amazing people have been demanding an acoustic album for years lmao
I guess there's only 4 official acoustic performances, the rest is fan-recorded (the Cirice fan-recorded one has high enough quality i think)
Would you guys also be interested in covers? I actually prefer his cover of "It's A Sin" over the Beach Boys
    OMS LISTEN TO ZENITH

We do the episodes according to requests made by viewers/commenters and in the order they come in. There are many more Ghost requests and we've done 7 so far (you can find the Playlist linked at the end of the Square Hammer episode). The request list includes songs by many bands/artists and is already nearing 25 A4 pages. It is huge. We added your requests above to the list, but are not sure how long it would take to get to them. If interested in bumping them higher up the list, please make the requests via our Buy Me A Coffee (Link in the description).
We don't do MVs only, we are happy to Audio Reactions, Covers, Acoustic, etc.
