Genevieve is a good friend to Penelope, she doesn't agree with her decision of giving up Lady Whistledown. She was not afraid of losing costumers, she wasn't trying to blackmail Penelope. She was Just worried for her friend.
The church scene is an old tradition called "reading of the banns." On at least three separate Sundays during the three months before a marriage takes place, it is publicly announced in church that a couple intends to marry. (So in a case like Pen and Colin who are getting married as soon as possible--in three weeks-- it would be read three Sundays in a row, but in a case where the couple is waiting longer, it could be any three Sundays leading up to the wedding.) It serves as public notice of their intent to marry and, in theory, gives anyone who is aware of a reason that the marriage would not be legal, an opportunity to object. It was originally intended to prevent bigamy.
Remember that Colin has already been majorly lied to by a fiancée, including that she loved him, so this situation is going to play right into his trauma and insecurities
This episode has one of my "wait for it.....Favorite scenes" 😂 and it's the Confidence Rendition for Cressida's walk in scene 🤌🏻🤌🏻 I live for these weekly uploads 😂❤
Love you guys! It's a highlight of my week whenever you upload a new Bridgerton reaction. lol I get why it's hard for Penelope to let Cressida take credit for her work as Lady Whistledown. It would be hard for her no matter who it was, but especially Cressida, considering the way she's consistently bullied Penelope. And then there are all the other reasons why her writing is so important to her. It's just a shame that she kept putting off telling Colin the truth until it was too late and he found out on his own. But of course that's how it was always going to happen, right? It's all about what creates the most drama. 😂 Can't wait for the next two reactions! 👀
I don’t think Delacroix was trying to manipulate Penelope. They’ve become friends, and as a fellow artist I think she was trying to show Pen that she should reconsider abandoning her art.
Colin's can be pretty intuitive but he often comes across as dumb for not realising so many things sooner. He knew something's up but I genuinely think he didn't connect the dots because he was leaning to reasons related to his insecurities. He feels that Penelope doesn't love him & lied to him just like Marina. He thought that his writings were good enough to be published as Penelope encouraged him only to find out she's already a renounced & popular author while he's nowhere closer. He feels inadequate compared to Penelope. It makes sense since Colin really struggled with having a real purpose of his life. He wants to be useful to others & wants to contribute some sort of work. The moment he caught Penelope delivering the papers, he practically connected all the dots & wasn't even a bit doubtful whether Penelope is the real Lady Whistledown or not.
R.I.P. Cressida Cowper you would've loved chat gpt

This episode was so good! That ending had me so stressed, you can see the hurt in Colin's eyes. I can't wait for the next episode! I love Polin!
