@6:41 Oh my....air raid sirens? Ugh, I really feel for you Tanya, and I hope everything comes to a peaceful resolution in your town. (I realize this was 10 months ago, but I am watching for the first time and I know where she is located)
It is easy to appreciate a $7,000 guitar, but it is the heart that falls in love with a guitar because it shows signs that someone put years of play into it. That is priceless........
Look at all the beautiful slothead screws! What an era... That fretboard was drier than a popcorn fart. I hate to be that guy, but you REALLY need to play these beauties when they're done.
Cool guitar, nice to see it getting some much needed attention! Jolana is best known for the Grazioso/Futurama that was exported to the UK in the late 50s, a lot of famous players got their start on one of those.👍👍
I used to have a Jolana as a teen (a different model). I would not resist replacing some of the parts (tuning pegs in particular, possibly the electronics and pickups). It's still probably a better guitar after your repair than what it was originally.
I just discovered your channel last week and I have to admit, I really love your videos. I can see you are a real workaholic. Keep doing what you're doing.
Greetings ! Nice work on a very cool guitar ...... After all that beautiful work you did , I would have loved to hear what it sounded like ....... Take care and be safe .....
Have one from 1989. Jolana Iris - it work , try these days . 🙂 Mom bought me for birthday - women didn't know marks . Strange sound , little low , but it's durable like tank .
Hey, Tanya, I have a question for you. I have a guitar and the sides of fingerboard in varnish too, as the whole neck. And tell me, if I want to replace the frets someday will the sides have no varnish because of sanding and rounding the frets? Anyway that's good video!
When you're filing the fret ends and sanding their edges, you do it at an angle that means you are not hitting the varnish on the sides. To be extra safe, you can put tape on the sides to protect the varnish while the frets are worked on.
Now You did it with a string pack, cool😎 Nice vintage, i wonder how it sounds and what woods they've used with it..
Jolana Star VII. Shorter scale, with zero fret. I had one, but with "regular" humbackers (or at least one of them was "regular", the other one was.. different; different than anything I've ever seen ;) ) I didn't like the body shape so I trimmed it. Or more like "cut quite a big chunk of it". This ruined it's sound. I'm a proponent of the theory that the whole sound of a guitar is pickups and electronics, and I don't believe in those tales about the miraculous properties of different woods, but then I remember this Jolana and I'm not willing to argue with anyone about it.
Even though zero frets have a bad reputation, I think they are better at maintaining the string height at the nut, and make the fretted and open strings have a consistent tone.
What block is it you are using beofore you're corwning the frets? Is its just sand paper stuck to block? Or is it something with grit impregnated? Thanks, Ross
I have a question. I just bought an Orange Rockerverb 32 combo amp. No matter what, either channel, it sounds like I'm playing in a plastic bowl! Straight into the amp or thru HX Effects , GNX4 ....don't matter. Any ideas? Thank you!
I have this exact guitar, in black. Bought it used more than 25 years ago for an equivalent of 50$. Sadly, it didn't have the original pickups. The bridge is completely useless, total sustain killer, replaced it with a ToM (had to drill through the pickguard for the posts. Otherwise, it works perfectly fine.
P.s if you live near to me you would work on all my guitars , and I would build you a mastercrafted cabinet and workbench , or a piece of art over time.

All I can say is Slava Ukraine

Hearing those alarms is heartbreaking, i hope y'all are fine.
Beautiful work on the guitar!
@@9_treasure 6:43 an airstrike alarm. We have at least a couple of them on a daily basis due to the russian dickheads.
You make me feel so calm with these videos.
A clean rip on the string packaging. Finally!👍

Always enjoy watching you work. Looks like your channel is growing quickly 😊
She's awesome.
Its always a pleasure to watch you do your thing, the skill involved and the finish is nothing short of incredible! Nicely done! :)

Fabulous regret. I like the almost blonde color of the fretboard wood.
Nice work and it is really chilling view to watch what you do. Greetings from Poland!
Thank you:)
Always impressed by the quality of the work done.
Such a satisfying video, it's always a joy to see this process
You always make re-fretting look easy
Yes ma'am I remember those guitars and seeing that condition quite often.... thank you for rescuing it .👍👍
😍 FANTASTIC a Jolana Star Gutar ❤

So satisfying to watch the process and see the end result .

At least it has a truss rod, Great job-looks fantastic. Fret job really lifts it!
What a great job!, those frets look better than new!
Excellent work as always 👍
I thought we were going to hear the guitar sound. Great work!
Love your skills. 💙💛
Flawless polish on the new frets.
Nice job. I like the look of the fretboard afterwards.
Nice fretwork young lady!!! I admire your work.
I love watching you work.. 🔥
When do we get to hear you play the guitars you fix? 🎸👍👍
I have the same one, Jolana VII, I'm the first owner, it was bought in 1964 sunburst... it's the one on the right in the logo...
It looks great Tanya, beautiful job! I bet it sounds good too!
Sei grande! Complimenti ! 👌
absolutely love it.. Thanks so much

You have the best ASMR videos to watch.
These former Eastern Bloc guitars are wild.
Have one from 1989. Jolana Iris - it work , try these days . 🙂 Mom bought me for birthday - women didn't know marks . Strange sound , little low , but it's durable like tank .
Love your work.
Working through air raid sirens…😢
Stay safe over there sweetheart.
awesome job love your work and that's a beautiful guitar
Err . . .was that an air raid siren going off just before the neck was put on? 😮😢
So much learn from your video.
Would have loved to have heard what this thing sounded like! 😜 Great job as always!!

@@FlameFlickers THANKS BRO!
Nice work! Never heard of Jolana Guitars, interesting vintage look. I'll have to look them up. What's their playability?
God be with you.
Gran trabajo 🫡
yeah those 70s/early 80s czech, GDR or japanese solid bodies are quite interesting/funny with sandwich body wood etc..have restored many of those
great fret work
Thank you:)
Very nice job! I have a green one. Can you link me strings that you used?
Jolana really good czech guitars .Some models have a small hidden screwdriver built in
Now You did it with a string pack, cool😎
Nice vintage, i wonder how it sounds and what woods they've used with it..
Excellent work as always. When do you glue frets in versus deciding not to glue them in?
Amazing again. Where did you learn this? I would bet it’s a family teaching 😃 well done you. So cool!
Now pulling apart those 70's weird brand named pawn shop guitars...now that's gotta be fascinating! 👍
Awesome
Your nails look great BTW

Real nice work. Was that an oops I heard when you removed the nut and it broke?
Did I here an air raid siren at 6:40 ?😮
What are you putting on the frets before you heat them?
Beautyful
Even though zero frets have a bad reputation, I think they are better at maintaining the string height at the nut, and make the fretted and open strings have a consistent tone.
What’s the solder for when removing the frets?
It gently heats up the glue underneath the fret making it easier to remove and less likely to damage the fretboard.
What kind of guitar is that
Was that an air raid siren?
What block is it you are using beofore you're corwning the frets? Is its just sand paper stuck to block? Or is it something with grit impregnated?
Thanks, Ross
You are so cool.
Those pickups look interesting.
I have a question. I just bought an Orange Rockerverb 32 combo amp. No matter what, either channel, it sounds like I'm playing in a plastic bowl! Straight into the amp or thru HX Effects , GNX4 ....don't matter. Any ideas? Thank you!
More videos pls 😊
What kinda fretboard wood is that, looks weird

INDONESIA WATCHING 🤘
Yikes!...great job.
Looks like the paint was put on with a brush.
🤟🤟🤟
Someone knows where I can buy frets online?
P.s if you live near to me you would work on all my guitars , and I would build you a mastercrafted cabinet and workbench , or a piece of art over time.
